The Younger Generation Knows Best
Good afernoon, ladies and gentlemen. I’m glad to be here giving my speech. My topic is the younger generation knows best.
Wisdom usually comes with living, so the older generation often takes the advantage, but there are exceptions.
Today is a period of developing and creating time. Much new type knowledge is planted into people’s minds, especially the younger generation.
For example, the computer. As we know, computer is the most important of modern tools. Many things cannot be done without it. There is very small group of old generation people can have good knowledge of it. However, many younger men can use it into drawing, listening to the music and so on.
Besides, digital technologies such as cameras, videos games and DVDs are now commonplace ( ['kɔmənpleis] n. 老生常谈;司空见惯的事;普通的东西adj. 平凡的;陈腐的)Increasingly these new media are linked by the internet, an increasing web of networks which is attracting a million new users monthly, according to popular ne ws sources. digital technology is no more frightening than a VCR(录像机)or a vacuum英['vækjʊəm]美['vækjʊəm. 真空;空间;真空吸尘器adj. 真空的;利用真空的;产生真空的vt. 用真空吸尘器清cleaner. This is called the new generation is stronger than their parents’ generation.
Why does the younger generation know best?
In my opinion, we can analyze that from two different aspects. On one hand, the environment they live is becoming more and more complicated, which requires greater and greater capability [,keipə'biləti] n. 才能,能力;性能,容量to adapt the real world. As a result, this situation explodes the potential of the younger generation to know more about the nature and our society. On the other hand, the younger generation is urging to learn more about nature and our society. So I believe that the young people are better able to make important decisions than their parents or the older generation are. In other words, younger generation know best.
