便条的特点在于内容简短，大多是临时性的询问、留言、通知、要求等。

有急事需要告诉别人而又不能面谈时，就可以写便条，如请假条、留言条等。
一般不写地址，与普通书信基本相同。

便条的日期通常写在右上角，一般只要写上星期几，也可以写明上午、下午的具体时间；日常应用中，写上几月几日的也很普遍。

要了解便条的结构，首先我们可以先了解一下书信的写作结构。
