Learn more from watching TV
Currently, whether an audience can learn more from TV programs than a reader does from books aroused a heated discussion . In my opinion, I strongly believe that people can learn more from watching television than by reading books.
Firstly, television can illustrate abstract concept and theories in a clearer way, because it combined with vivid pictures or radios. For example, if I want to know a car how to operate, what make it drive? When I watch television it will show me how the car organize and it will have a visual and audio that will make it easy for me to understand the part of car. However, if I read it from book which will drive me crazy, how I can see the tedious literally and simple figure can imagine what the part look like and understand the organize of the car. So learn from television make the learning process more appealing, thus people can have a long attention span when they study through TV viewing.
Secondly, through television we can access the latest news and fresher information. Nowadays, the updating of the knowledge is much more rapid than before, so that people intend to learn the latest knowledge and get the information as new as possible. The period of a television program production is dramatically less than that of a book publication. Consequently, watching television is the better choice for people to learn more to refresh their thought.
Thirdly,I think watching television is more convenient than reading books to achieve information or knowledge. For example, if a person has a television, he can watch various TV programs provided by the television stations. He may not only watch television at home but also when having dinner or doing exercise on running machine. And he doesn’t need to go to the bookstores again and again to buy the books which he needs to learn . Moreover, reading books when eating and running is almost impossible. For example, when I have dinner at home, I always watch the news on TV with my parents, and learn events happening around the world. In contrast, we cannot read a newspaper on current events while eating.
Finally, watching television is more interesting than reading books so it can make stronger impression in the mind. Television programs show the images and sounds, which greatly help the audiences to memorize the knowledge. Furthermore, the vivid and interactive patterns of some programs will let the audiences remember the knowledge unconsciously.
Learn more from reading books
Currently, the issue of the channels for learning is much concerned to a point where a wide discussion has been aroused. One point is that an audience can learn more from TV programs than a reader does from books. To large extent, however, I cast doubt on this claim and reckon that it assumes a distorted and narrow view.
Firstly,TV programs are not available all the time and what displays on screen are properly censored and guided.
Secondly, television maybe has some misleading information which will hide people’s thinking.
Thirdly,books are systematic and cheap.
