动作动词和状态动词 英语中动词分为两类:动作动词和状态动词。动作动词可 用于进行时态,而状态动词却不可以。这是这两类动词的最根 本的区别。
1.动作动词 动作动词是表示运动状态的动词,根据词汇意义可分为三 类: (1)表示持续动作的动词,如:eat, listen, read, walk, work, write等。既可用于进行时,又可用于一般时。用于进行时 中,表示一次性的动作,具有暂时的意义;用于一般时中,表 示一种习惯性的动作,具有长久的意义。
(3)consider作“考虑”讲时,为动作动词;作“认为”讲 时,为状态动词。 We are considering your application. 我们正在考虑你的申请。 I consider (that) you acted very wisely. 我认为你做得非常明智。
(4)在动词词组apply to中,如果apply作及物动词,是动作 动词,意为“应用”;如作不及物动词,则是状态动词,意为 “适用于”。 They are applying the new theory to practice. 他们正在把这个新理论应用于实践。 What I have said doesn't apply to you. 我所说的话对你不适用。
