金三角地区的长脖子美女
就像100多年前的中国人认为女人的脚越小越性感一样，在缅甸、泰国、老挝交界的金三角山区的这个部落的人认为女人的脖子越长越性感。
至今保有这种风俗的只剩下三个村落，分落在缅甸和泰国的边界线两端。
泰国有个长脖村，长脖村落吸引着每一个到泰国旅游的人。

当地女人以“长脖”为美，当女孩子只有4到5岁时，母亲们就会为她们戴上第一组重达1公斤的铜项圈；8岁时，再向她的脖子上套上第二组同样重量的铜项圈；12岁时套上第三组；如果女孩的脖子足够强壮，那么15岁时，她的脖子上将会套上最后一组重达2公斤的铜项圈。
据悉，一旦戴上，这些铜项圈将陪伴着她们终身，永远不被取下来———沐浴时戴着，睡觉时戴着，一直戴到死。
目前尚不清楚这一奇怪的“长脖习俗”到底起源于何时，据一些女人称，她们部落的这一习俗已经有数百年历史了。

而紧箍的脖子也会因为人为的拉扯造成肌肉萎缩，一旦失去铜圈的支撑，长长的颈就会像鹅脖子一样无力的折下来，打折的气管会因为呼吸不通而窒息死亡。
长颈女性感的脖子是连老公都不能看到的，因此，换铜圈或清洗脖子时，一般是要姐妹们帮忙托着脑袋才能完成的。
天热时也要几天才洗一次脖子，是将布伸进里面来回抽拉完成的。

有两三个身材剽悍的男人在路上走过，他们的胳膊、大腿、前胸和后背处都用尖刀划满了杠杠。
海鲁说：“看，他们就是穆尔西男子！一条杠代表杀过一个人，身上杠越多越受人尊敬。
为了偷牛或抢媳妇，部落间的拼杀…塑造‟了很多这样的…英雄‟。
”
为什么这样打扮
我翻看过介绍穆尔西族的资料，穆尔西女人的嘴里能放下直径十几厘米大的盘子，把嘴撑得大大的。
我很好奇，问海鲁她们这样怎么吃饭说话？海鲁解释说：“穆尔西女子10岁左右就开始练习往嘴里放盘子。
盘子型号不同，都是泥土烧制或用木块做的。
平时放在嘴里，吃喝时才摘下来。
开始往嘴里放盘子前要动一个小手术，用小刀将下嘴唇和牙龈之间切开一个口子，使下嘴唇与齿根分离。
然后，先放一个小盘子把口子撑开，使其不再长回去。
日后逐渐将小盘子换成大盘子。
嘴唇自然越撑越大，最大的嘴唇能翻到头上把脸包住。
这个痛苦的过程伴随着女孩成长为妇人。
”听着介绍，我觉得自己牙根直发麻。
这时，远远地走来一个上身赤裸的女人，样子古怪，嘴里一直衔着一块大饼样的东西。
“朋友，你很走运！看，那就是你要找的大嘴女人。
”海鲁兴奋的叫声没有拉回我的目光，我已经瞠目结舌了。
随着女人越走越近，她那张大嘴巴愈加明显。
赭石色的盘子和肤色几乎混成
一体。
盘子上也有穆尔西人身上画的斑点花纹。
我根本看不见她的下巴。
海鲁为了能让我满意，他叫住这个穆尔西女子，把她带到我跟前来。
我只顾目不转睛地盯着看，原来满肚子的疑问都忘了问。
海鲁说这名妇人叫哈比塔，可她对海鲁说的话我既听不清楚也听不懂。
穆尔西人以大嘴为美、为荣，海鲁说这个传统已无法考证。
但人类学家研究说，这个传统有3种解释：一是古时人们为防止外族入侵者或奴隶主看上本族的姑娘，故意把她们打扮得吓人以保其纯洁；二是防止魔鬼从口里进入身体；三是女子美丽的标志。
心理学家则解释说，人类有一种自残的本能，越原始的民族表现得越明显。
自残的潜意识是要显示自己的存在和与众不同，保护自己不被历史淹没。
嘴里的盘子越大，姑娘的身价也越高。
穆尔西人不怎么吃牛肉，因为牛是镇家之宝，饿得要死时才用它换粮食，或者孩子嫁娶时用牛当彩礼。
如果姑娘的盘子属于最大的那一种，那么她父母可以收到50头牛的彩礼，一下就成了富翁。
女儿嘴大也是致富的手段。
看牛肠子做决定
穆尔西人没有领导者，只有遇到要与外族决战时才开全族大会，讨论到大家意见完全一致时就算做了决定。
他们做决定前通过看牛肠子来占卜吉凶。
他们从中到底能看出什么名堂，外人不知。
穆尔西人信仰万物有灵，喜欢通过预言判断事情。
他们有自己的语言，没有文字，几乎都不懂埃塞俄比亚的官方语言。
20世纪70年代，一位英国人类学家首次发现了穆尔西族，当时那里的人还不知道埃塞俄比亚是何地。
时至今日，穆尔西人依然过着自由自在的生活。
埃塞俄比亚政府也不大管他们，让他们自治，并将他们生活的区域划为国家公园，把他们保护起来，鼓励外国游客去参观旅游。

女人天性爱美，长耳族的女人为了追求美丽，不惜付如此出沉重的代价，看后真的叫人于心不忍，但愿她们的后代能够选择另一种美丽的表现形式。
