2019外研版高中英语选择性必修二Unit2 阅读技能突破

Unit2 阅读技能突破-真题展示[天津20l9·B篇]I must have always known reading was very important because the first memories I have as a child deal with books. There was not one night that I don’t remember mom reading me a storybook by my bedside. I was extremely inspired by the elegant way the words sounded.I always wanted to know what my mom was reading. Hearing mom say, “I can’t believe what’s printed in the newspaper this morning,” made me want to grab it out of her hands and read it myself. I wanted to be like my mom and know all of the things she knew. So I carried around a book, and each night, just to be like her, I would pretend to be reading. This is how everyone learned to read. We would start off with sentences, then paragraphs, and then stories. It seemed an unending journey, but even as a six-year-old girl I realized that knowing how to read could open many doors. When mom said, “The C-A-N-D-Y is hidden on the top shelf,” I knew where the candy was. My progress in reading raised my curiosity, and I wanted to know everything. I often found myself telling my mom to drive more slowly, so that I could read all of the road signs we passed. Most of my reading through primary, middle and high school was factual reading. I read for knowledge, and to make A’s on my tests. Occasionally, I would read a novel that was assigned, but I didn’t enjoy this type of reading. I liked facts, things that are concrete. I thought anything abstract left too much room for argument.Yet, now that I’m growing and the world I once knew as being so simple is becoming more complex, I find myself needing a way to escape. By opening a novel, I can leave behind my burdens and enter into a wonderful and mysterious world where I am now a new character. In these worlds I can become anyone.I don’t have to write down whathappened or what technique the author was using when he or she wrote this.I just read to relax. We’re taught to read because it’s necessary for much of human understanding. Reading is a vital part of my life. Reading satisfies my desire to keep learning. And I’ve found that the possibilities that lie within books are limitless.1. Why did the author want to grab the newspaper out of mom’s hands?A. She wanted mom to read the news to her.B. She was anxious to know what had happened.C. She couldn’t wait to tear the newspaper apart.D. She couldn’t help but stop mom from reading.2. According to Paragraph 3, the author’s reading of road signs indicates _______A. her unique way to locate herselfB. her eagerness to develop her reading abilityC. her effort to remind mom to obey traffic rulesD. her growing desire to know the world around her3.What was the author’s view on factual reading?A. It would help her update test-taking skills.B. It would allow much room for free thinking.C. It would provide true and objective information.D. It would help shape a realistic and serious attitude to life.4.The author takes novel reading as a way to _______A. explore a fantasy landB. develop a passion for learningC. learn about the adult communityD. get away from a confusing world5.What could be the best title for the passage?A. The Magic of ReadingB. The Pleasure of ReadingC. Growing Up with ReadingD. Reading Makes a Full Man【语篇导读】本文讲述了作者儿时对阅读充满兴趣和渴望,喜欢读一些纪实性的读物,想借此了解世界。

In ancient Egypt,a shopkeeper discovered that he could attract customers to his shop simply by making changes to its environment. Modern businesses have been following his lead, with more tactics (策略).One tactic involves where to display the goods. For example, stores place fruits and vegetables in the first section. They know that customers who buy the healthy food first will feel happy so that they will buy more junk food(垃圾食品) later in their trip. In department stores, the women's shoe section is generally next to the women's cosmetics (化妆品) section:while the shop assistant is going back to find the right size shoe, bored customers are likely to wander over and find some cosmetics they might want to try later.Besides, businesses seek to appeal to customers' senses. Stores notice that the smell of baked goods encourages shopping,so they make their own bread each morning and then fan the bread smell into the store throughout the day. Music sells goods, too. Researchers in Britain found that when French music was played, sales of French wines went up.When it comes to the selling of houses, businesses also use highly rewarding tactics. They find that customers make decisions in the first few seconds upon walking in the door, and turn it into a business opportunity. A California builder designed the structure of its houses smartly. When entering the house, the customer would see the Pacific Ocean through the windows, and then the pool through an open stairway leading to the lower level. The instant view of water on both levels helped sell these $10 million houses.1.Why do stores usually display fruits and vegetables in the first section?A.To save customers time.B.To show they are high quality foods.C.To help sell junk food.D.To sell them at discount prices.2.According to Paragraph 3,which of the following encourages customers to buy?A.Opening the store early in the morning.B.Displaying British wines next to French ones.C.Inviting customers to play music.D.Filling the store with the smell of fresh bread.3.What is the California builder's story intended to prove?A.The house structure is a key factor customers consider.B.The more costly the house is,the better it sells.C.An ocean view is much to the customers' taste.D.A good first impression increases sales.4.What is the main purpose of the passage?A.To explain how businesses turn people into their customers.B.To introduce how businesses have grown from the past.C.To report researches on customer behavior.D.To show dishonest business practices.语篇解读:本文为说明文,题材为历史与社会类。

七下高分突破英语二单元检测作文题目

七下高分突破英语二单元检测作文题目

七下高分突破英语二单元检测作文题目全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1An Incredible JourneyHi there! My name is Amy and I'm 10 years old. I just had the most amazing adventure and I can't wait to tell you all about it! It all started last weekend when my parents surprised me and said we were going on a special trip. I had no idea where we were going, but I was so excited! We drove for what felt like forever until we reached this huge forest. My dad parked the car and we all got out and started hiking along a trail. The trees were so tall and the air smelled like pine. It was beautiful! After about an hour of walking, we came across this little cabin in a clearing. My mom told me we'd be staying there for the next few days."Really??" I exclaimed. "We're going camping??" Camping is my absolute favorite thing in the world. I love sleeping in a tent, roasting marshmallows over the campfire, and exploring the outdoors. This was going to be the best adventure ever! That first night, we pitched our tent in the backyard of the cabin and my dad built us a roaring fire. We cooked hot dogs and made s'mores for dessert. Mmm, nothing beats a gooey chocolatey marshmallow! After we ate, we sat around the fire and my dad told us scary stories about monsters living deep in the forest. I tried to act brave, but I have to admit some of them gave me goosebumps! The next morning, we went on a long hike to explore the area around our campsite. We saw so many amazing things - a family of deer drinking from a stream, a wise old owl perched high up in a tree, and wildflowers in every color of the rainbow. My favorite thing was when we came across a babbling brook. We took off our shoes and went wading in the cool, refreshing water. It felt so nice! After our hike, we had a yummy lunch of sandwiches and fruit back at our campsite. Then my dad said he had a special surprise for me - we were going on a mushroom hunt! I was a little nervous at first because I knew some mushrooms were poisonous. But my dad assured me he was an expert mushroom hunter and would show me which ones were safe to pick.We ventured back into the forest, this time looking very closely at the ground near the bases of trees. Before long, mydad spotted a cluster of morel mushrooms! He carefully picked them, explaining that morels were one of the most delicious mushrooms around. We kept searching and eventually filled up a whole basket. I couldn't wait to see how they tasted. When we got back to the cabin, my mom cleaned the morels and sautéed them up with some butter and garlic. Oh my gosh, they were out of this world! The flavor was like nothing I've ever tasted before - rich, earthy, and crazy delicious. We all devoured them.On our last day, we went on one final adventure - a canoe trip down the nearby river! My dad rented a canoe and we gently floated along, watching for wildlife along the riverbanks. We saw a giant blue heron taking flight, fish jumping out of the water, and even a sleepy beaver swimming across the river pulling a branch. It was such a peaceful, relaxing way to spend the morning. All too soon, it was time to pack up and head home. I was sad for our incredible camping trip to be over, but so grateful to my parents for giving me such an amazing experience. Getting to spend time together as a family in nature was the best gift ever. We made so many wonderful memories that I'll never forget.I already can't wait for our next big adventure! Where will we go - the mountains, the beach, or maybe even a city in another country? Who knows? One thing's for sure though, it'll be an incredible journey no matter what. Thanks for reading about my fun camping trip! Until next time...篇2Hi there! My name is Emily and I'm in 7th grade. Today, I want to share with you my experience and tips for getting high scores on the Unit 2 test in our English class. It was a pretty tough unit, but with some hard work and the right strategies, I was able to do really well!Unit 2 was all about talking about daily routines, hobbies, and free time activities. At first, I found some of the vocabulary and grammar points a bit confusing. Words like "usually", "sometimes", "often", and all those frequency adverbs were kind of tricky to use properly. And then there were the different tenses we had to use to talk about habits and routines. Yikes! But my teacher, Mrs. Johnson, is really great at explaining things clearly. She broke everything down step-by-step and gave us lots of examples and practice exercises. I remember she had us do this fun activity where we drew pictures of our dailyroutines and then presented them to the class using the right vocabulary and tenses. It really helped cement those concepts in my mind.Another thing that helped me a lot was making flashcards for the new vocabulary words from the unit. Whenever I had some free time, like waiting for the school bus or during TV commercial breaks, I'd quiz myself on the flashcards. It's amazing how quickly you can memorize new words when you study a little bit at a time consistently. When it came time for the Unit 2 test, I felt pretty prepared. The writing section was to write a short essay about my typical weekend routine. Since we'd practiced that kind of writing a bunch, I knew exactly how to structure my paragraphs and what transition words and tenses to use. Piece of cake! The reading comprehension part had some longer passages about different students' after-school activities and schedules. By reading each passage slowly and carefully, I was able to identify the key details and answer the multiple-choice questions accurately. It's so important not to rush through reading sections!Listening comprehension has always been one of my biggest struggles with English, but I'd been doing lots of practicelistening to English songs, TV shows, podcasts, etc. So when it came time for that part of the test, my ears were ready! I stuck to my strategy of listening for context clues, familiar vocabulary words, and paying extra-close attention anytime a question word like "what", "when", "why", etc. was used. For the speaking part, we had to describe our favorite hobby or extracurricular activity. Since I'd gotten so much practice speaking out loud and being interviewed by classmates, I was way less nervous than I'd been at the start of the unit. I just pretended I was telling a friend about my hobby and spoke slowly, clearly, and with confidence. Nailed it!All that practice, active studying, and the great strategies from Mrs. Johnson really paid off. I ended up getting a 98% on the Unit 2 test! I was so proud of myself for working hard and facing my challenges head-on. Understanding stuff like verb tenses, vocabulary usage, and listening for context clues... it wasn't easy at first. But doing a little bit of practice every day really does make a huge difference. Now I'm feeling super motivated and ready to take on the next unit in our English class. Keeping up my studying habits, not being afraid to ask questions, and staying focused during class... those will be key for continued success. After knocking that Unit2 test out of the park, I know I have what it takes to be an English superstar! So there you have it, my tips and experience battling through Unit 2. I really hope reading about how I studied and prepared helps you crush your next English test too. The most important things are to practice a ton, both on your own and out loud. Pay close attention in class, don't be afraid to ask questions, and do loads of active practice with the core concepts. If you put in the hard work consistently, you'll be amazed at how quickly your skills improve.Good luck, study hard, and you too can be a straight-A English student! If a goofy 7th grader like me can do it, you definitely can too. Okay, time for me to re-read my essay and check for any errors. Thanks for reading, bye!篇3My Name is Tommy, and I'm in Grade 7. English is one of my favorite subjects, but it can be really tough sometimes, especially when it comes to writing compositions. Recently, we covered Unit 2 in our English textbook, and let me tell you, the composition prompts were no joke! The first prompt was about describing your favorite place. I chose to write about my grandparents' farm, where I spend most of my summer vacations. I love the fresh air, the wide-open spaces, and the animals roaming freely. But you know what's the hardest part? Trying to paint a vivid picture with words! It's like trying to capture the beauty of a sunset or the warmth of a crackling fire. I had to dig deep into my vocabulary and get creative with my descriptions.Next up was a narrative essay about an unforgettable experience. I decided to write about the time I got lost in the woods behind my house. It was equal parts terrifying and exciting! I had to describe the sights, sounds, and emotions I felt during that adventure. Showing, not telling, is key in narrative writing, and I learned that the hard way. My first draft was full of bland statements like "I was scared" or "It was dark." But with some guidance from my teacher, I learned to use sensory details and vivid verbs to make the reader feel like they were right there with me.Then came the dreaded persuasive essay. The prompt was about convincing your parents to let you have a pet. Now, as an only child, I've been begging for a puppy since I was, like, five years old. So, this was my chance to make the ultimatepersuasive case! I had to gather strong arguments, anticipate counterarguments, and present my case in a logical, organized manner. It was tough, but I learned so much about the art of persuasion. But the real challenge came with the final prompt: a research-based essay on a historical figure. I chose to write about Amelia Earhart, the legendary aviator. Researching her life and achievements was fascinating, but trying to condense all that information into a coherent, well-supported essay was no easy task. I had to learn how to take notes effectively, organize my ideas, and cite my sources properly. It was a crash course in academic writing, but I feel like I leveled up my skills big time.Looking back on Unit 2, I can honestly say that it pushed me to my limits as a writer. But with every composition, I could feel myself growing and improving. My vocabulary expanded, my sentence structures became more varied, and my organizational skills sharpened. Writing is like a muscle – the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets. So, if you're a fellow Grade 7 student tackling Unit 2, here's my advice: embrace the challenge, seek feedback, and keep practicing. Writing is a lifelong journey, and every composition is an opportunity to grow. Who knows, maybe one day you'll bethe next J.K. Rowling or Shakespeare (but, you know, for the modern era)!Anyway, that's my take on the Grade 7 English Unit 2 composition prompts. Feel free to share your own experiences and tips in the comments below. Happy writing, everyone!篇4My Big English Test AdventureIt was a sunny morning, and I was feeling excited and a little nervous. Today was the big day – the Unit 2 Breakthrough English Test for 7th grade. I had been studying hard for weeks, and I really wanted to do well.As I walked to school, I could feel the butterflies fluttering in my tummy. I took a deep breath and tried to remember what my teacher had told us: "Just relax and do your best. You've got this!"When I got to class, everyone was buzzing with energy. Some of my friends looked confident, while others looked just as nervous as I felt. Mrs. Thompson, our English teacher, greeted us with a warm smile."Good morning, everyone!" she said. "I know you've all been working hard, and I'm proud of you for putting in the effort. Now, it's time to show what you've learned."She passed out the test papers, and I couldn't help but feel a little twinge of panic. The test looked so long and intimidating! But I took another deep breath and reminded myself of all the practice tests we had done. The first section was listening comprehension. We had to listen to a dialogue and answer questions about it. I concentrated hard, trying to catch every word. Some of the questions were tricky, but I did my best to think through the answers logically.Next up was reading comprehension. We had to read a passage and answer questions about the main idea, details, and vocabulary. I read carefully, underlining key points and making notes in the margins. It was tough, but I felt like I was holding my own. After that came the writing section. We had to write a short essay about our favorite book. I loved reading, so this was right up my alley! I brainstormed ideas, outlined my essay, and then started writing. The words flowed easily, and I even managed toinclude some of the advanced vocabulary and grammar we had learned. Finally, it was time for the speaking section. One by one, we had to go to the front of the class and have a conversation with Mrs. Thompson. When it was my turn, my heart was pounding, but I took a few calming breaths and tried to relax. Mrs. Thompson asked me questions about my hobbies and family, and I did my best to respond clearly and confidently. When it was all over, I felt a huge sense of relief and accomplishment. I had given it my all, and that was all I could ask of myself. As we left the classroom, my friends and I compared notes and shared our experiences. Some parts had been easier than others, but we all agreed that it had been a challenge.Over the next few days, we waited anxiously for our test results. Finally, the day came when Mrs. Thompson handed out our graded tests.I held my breath as I opened the envelope, and then a huge grin spread across my face. I had scored really well! All that hard work had paid off.As I walked home that day, I felt a sense of confidence and excitement for the future. The English language was no longer just a subject to study – it was a door to new worlds and possibilities. And I couldn't wait to see where it would take me next.篇5My Journey to Mastering EnglishHi there! My name is Emma, and I'm a 7th grader at Maple Grove Elementary School. I know what you're thinking – why on earth would a kid like me want to write about something as boring as English class? Well, let me tell you, my journey to mastering English has been anything but dull!It all started last year when my parents decided to enroll me in an after-school English program. At first, I was less than thrilled. I mean, who wants to spend their afternoons learning grammar rules and vocabulary when they could be playing outside or watching TV? But my parents insisted that it would be good for me, and eventually, I gave in.The first few weeks were rough. I struggled to keep up with the lessons, and I felt like I was constantly falling behind. But then something clicked. Maybe it was the way my teacherexplained things or maybe it was just my determination kicking in, but suddenly, everything started to make sense.I remember the first time I aced a quiz on irregular verbs. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. From that moment on, I was hooked. I started looking forward to English class, and I even found myself practicing at home in my free time.As the year progressed, my skills improved rapidly. I went from struggling with basic grammar to tackling complex sentence structures and idioms with ease. I even started reading books in English for fun, something I never thought I'd do.By the time I reached Unit 2 in 7th grade, I was a force to be reckoned with. I tackled each lesson with confidence, and my classmates started to come to me for help with their assignments. It was a far cry from the kid who used to dread English class! One of the things that really helped me succeed in Unit 2 was my teacher's emphasis on writing. We spent a lot of time practicing different types of essays and creative writing exercises, and I found that I had a real knack for it. I loved being able to express myself through words and paint vivid pictures with my descriptions. But perhaps the most valuable lesson I learned in Unit 2 was the importance of perseverance. There were times when I felt like giving up, when the material seemed too difficult or the assignments too overwhelming. But my teacher always reminded me that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible. And you know what? She was right. By the end of Unit 2, I had not only mastered the material but also earned one of the highest scores in my class on the final exam. It was a moment of pure triumph, and I couldn't have been prouder of myself.Looking back on my journey, I can't help but feel grateful for the opportunities I've had to learn and grow. English is no longer just a subject I have to study – it's a language that I love and a skill that I'm proud to have mastered. So, if you're a student who's struggling with English or any other subject, my advice to you is this: never give up. Embrace the challenges, work hard, and believe in yourself. Because if a kid like me can go from dreading English class to acing it, then anything is possible.Who knows, maybe one day you'll be the one writing an essay about your own journey to mastery. Until then, keep pushing forward, and remember – the only limits are the ones you set for yourself.篇6My Struggles and Triumphs with 7th Grade English Unit 2Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm a 7th grader. Today I wanted to share my experience with studying for the English Unit 2 exam. It was quite a journey with some really hard parts but also some great moments when everything started to click.Let me start from the beginning. When my teacher first handed out the Unit 2 materials, I was really excited. I love learning new English vocabulary and grammar points. However, as I started going through the lessons, I quickly realized this unit was going to be super challenging. The vocabulary list seemed to go on forever! Words like "diligent", "contemplate", "skeptical" - I had never heard most of them before. And they expected me to not only know the definitions but also how to use them properly in sentences. I spent hours and hours making flashcards and quizzing myself but it felt like the words just wouldn't stick in my brain. Then there were all the grammar concepts - conditional sentences, reported speech, relative clauses. I've learned some of these before but Unit 2 took them to the next level with all the exceptions and special cases. My head was spinning trying tokeep all the rules straight. No matter how many practice exercises I did, I kept making silly mistakes. After a few weeks, I felt incredibly frustrated and overwhelmed. I remember crying to my mom that I would never be able to master all this new material. She gave me a big hug and reminded me that I'm a hard worker who has overcome many challenges before. She said I just needed to take a break, recharge, and then dive back in with a fresh perspective. Her advice really helped. I took the weekend off from studying to just relax and have fun. When I returned to my English work on Monday, I had a much more positive mindset. I decided to start watching English TV shows and movies to try and pick up the new vocabulary in context. Somehow, hearing the words used in real conversations made them finally start clicking for me.For grammar, my dad suggested looking for patterns instead of trying to memorize every single rule. For instance, with conditional sentences I started noticing that certain words like "if" or "unless" indicated which type of conditional it was. With relative clauses, I realized they were just giving more details about a noun. Approaching it this way made so much more sense than rote memorization. My newly refreshed attitude and strategies were really paying off. Each day, I was understanding the Unit 2 concepts a little bit better. What had once seemed impossible was gradually becoming manageable. My confidence was building back up.Through it all, I kept reminding myself of how far I had already come. More importantly, I focused on all the incredible English skills I was developing - skills that would benefit me for many years to come. This bigger perspective motivated me to power through even the toughest challenges. Finally, it was time to take the Unit 2 exam. I was nervous for sure, but also confident that I had prepared as best I could. When I got my test back and saw that I had earned a top score, I felt so proud and relieved. All those late nights of studying, all the setbacks and victories, had finally paid off in a huge way.My experience with Unit 2 taught me so much more than just English vocabulary and grammar. I learned the importance of perseverance, of finding new strategies when the old ones aren't working, of staying positive and believing in myself even when things seem impossible. These are lessons that will help me not just in my education, but in all areas of life.So for any students out there struggling with a really tough subject or challenge, I encourage you to take a page from myUnit 2 journey. It won't be easy, but if you combine hard work with determination and belief in yourself, you can overcome anything. The satisfaction of finally mastering something incredibly difficult。
