Of course, this is for everyone’s safety. You might also be asked to open your bags to be carefully checked.Once you pass through this checkpoint, then you will go to the appointed boarding area and gate to wait for your plane. Just wait there until they say that your flight is here for you to go boarding.Of course, once you are aboard the plane, no one ever wants to experience any emergencies, but the plane is equipped with emergency exits in case you have to leave the plane. His net worth has climbed $8.5bn this year to $41.8bn.The latest surge came after China’s lar gest e-commerce company forecast 45 to 49 per cent revenue (收入) growth in the year ending March, demonstrating how investments in online shopping are paying off. On Friday, the former English teacher said he wasn’t going to discuss corporate forecasts. He took the stage instead to describe how his company had become effectively the world’s 22nd largest economy — just after Argentina — in terms of transactions (交易) by never fearing to think big. Mr Ma, who said Alibaba revised 10-year plans annually, foresaw the company becoming the fifth-largest eventually by 2036 by serving burgeoning (迅速发展) Chinese middle classes, taking advantage of global trade and making use of its valuable data.Ma’s comments about the evolution of datadriven technology echoed those of Masayoshi Son, chairman of Japan’s SoftBank. SoftBank —Alibaba’s largest shareholder — has invested billions in companies such as ARM with the intention of staking out a leading position in the future Internet of Things."The Internet of Things is going to be big because in the past, ma chines ‘drank’ electricity,"Mr Ma told investors. What does Jack Ma stress in the last paragraph?A. The investment of global trade.B. The importance of data.C. The necessity of sharing information.D. The future of the Internet of Things.DFifteen years ago, I took a summer vacation in Lecce in southern Italy. After climbing up a hill for a panoramic(全景的) view of the blue sea, white buildings and green olive trees, I paused to catch my breath and then positioned myself to take the best photo of this panorama.Unfortunately, just as I took out my camera, a woman approached from behind, and planted herself right in front of my view. Like me, this woman was here to stop, sigh and appreciate the view.Patient as I was, after about 15 minutes, my camera scanning the sun and reviewing the shot I would eventually take, I grew frustrated. Was it too much to ask her to move so I could take just one picture of the landscape? Sure, I could have asked her, but something prevented me from doing so. She seemed so content in her observation. I didn’t want to mess with that.Another 15 minutes passed and I grew bored. The woman was still there. I decided to take the photo anyway. And now when I look at it, I think her presence in the photo is what makes the image interesting. The landscape, beautiful on its own, somehow comes to life and breathes because this woman is engaging with it.This photo, with the unique beauty that unfolded before me and that woman who "ruined"it, now hangs教育资源on a wall in my bedroom. What would she think if she knew that her figure is captured(捕捉) and frozen on some stranger’s bedroom wall? A bedroom, after all, is a very private space, in which some woman I don’t even know has been immortalized(使……永存). In some ways, she lives in my house.Perhaps we all live in each others’ spaces. Perhaps this is what photos are for: to remind us that we all appreciate beauty, that we all share a common desire for pleasure, for connection, for something that is greater than us.That photo is a reminder, a captured moment, an unspoken conversation between two women, separated only by a thin square of glass.12. Although you can be lonely, you can help yourself fit in by being friendly. Even if you are nervous, try to smile, say hello and ask questions. Here are two places where you might meet friends in a new school:● The classroom: Look around you, is there anyone who you can talk to? Do you take part in group activities in class? If so, try to join a new group every time.● Playground: Most schools offer many team sports. Try to join these sports. Some kids worry about their teachers when they start a new school. Even if the teachers are supportive, it can take some time to adjust to new rules or ways of teaching. He passed round a skull (头骨) as he talked, and we all felt interested and took notes while listening. Later, we had a test about that. When he returned my paper, I was very, very surprised. There was a very large cross through each of my answers. And so was it with everyone else’s in our class. What had happened? Everyone was wondering and couldn’t wait to get the answer.Very simple, Mr Whitson explained. He had made up all that story about the cattytiger. There had never been such an animal. So why did none of us notice that and how could we expect good marks for the incorrect answers?Needless to say, we got very angry. What kind of teacher was this?We should have guessed it out, Mr Whitson said. After all, at the very moment he was passing around the skull (in fact, a c at’s), hadn’t he been telling us that it completely disappeared during the Ice Age? Clearly he was telling a lie. But we just kept busy making notes and nobody used his head. We should learn something from this. Teachers and textbooks are not always correct.47. Why did the students fail in the test? _______.A. But really, there’s one important reason why you should get along with your teacher. When you do it, “learning bursts (猛然) right open,” says Evelyn Vuko, a long time teacher who writes an education column(专栏) called “teacher says” for the Washington Post newspaper. In fact, kids who get along with their teachers not only learn more, but they’re more comfortable asking questions and getting extra help. This makes it easier to understand new material and do your best on tests. When you have this kind of relationship with a teacher, he or she can be someone to turn to with problems, such as problems with learning. As a kid in elementary or middle school, you’re at a wonderful stage in your life. If you’re planning to travel overseas, the most common form of transportation is by airplane. Knowing the whole procedure(程序) from buying plane tickets to dealing with in-flight emergencies(紧急事件) can ensure that you have a pleasurable trip.
First of all, choosing an airline carrier might depend on a number of factors including the company’s service record, price of the ticket, length of time to destination, and even in-flight service.
Now, once you’ve bought your ticket, you still need to make the long journey through the airport. Once you arrive, you usually check your bags at the main ticket counter. Then, you have to pass through the security checkpoint, where you will have to walk through an X-ray machine, and they will check your carry-on bags for any forbidden items, including firearms, explosi ves, and knives. Of course, this is for everyone’s safety. You might also be asked to open your bags to be carefully checked.
Once you pass through this checkpoint, then you will go to the appointed boarding area and gate to wait for your plane. Just wait there until they say that your flight is here for you to go boarding.
Of course, once you are aboard the plane, no one ever wants to experience any emergencies, but the plane is equipped with emergency exits in case you have to leave the plane. There are also life jackets under the seats, and oxygen masks in case the plane’s cabin(机舱) unexpectedly loses pressure. Be sure to read the safety instruction card located in the pocket of the seat in front of you.。
