Come out and let us teach you how to skydive today! We are located in
Xenia, Ohio and are within a reasonable driving distance of major cities in Ohio. Situated on a private airport, Skydive Greene County offers world-class training. We didn’t start skydiving but we are Ohio’s oldest skydiving school which opened in 1961!

Your freefall with your instructor will last for approximately 40-50 seconds. We can almost guarantee this will be the most exciting minute of your life as you reach the speed of around 120 mph, falling for about two miles back to the
earth!
Don’t forget to have a video taken of your skydive to show all those that d idn’t think you would jump from an airplane!
◆Static Line Courses
Once you have made your tandem skydiving, you can move on to our Static Line Program. The Static Line Jump is the traditional way to learn to skydive. We have classes throughout the year. Every student will be led through the entire day by a licensed instructor. Never does the student feel unattended.
Once training is over, students will make their first jump on that very same day! If the weather does not cooperate, you can come back the next day , or we will re-schedule a time to make your skydive.

I’ve been in poor health this year, and it got me thinking: What if I can’t be with my daughter? Who is going to help her along life’s journey? Life is so long and she is so little. I can’t offer her all the answers because I am still learning every day myself. But I still have two lessons to make her know before I leave her.
The first is that we can’t control other people’s behavior but we can control how we react to it. There are always some disputes (纷争) in our life, where we may feel angry and lose our minds to say something. Can you imagine how different the world would be if every person took a step back, and didn’t automatically react to something? Instead of mirroring some bad behaviors, we
should choose to behave in a way that befits our values, or a way that’s more thought through.
It’s not always easy to think wisely about something on the spur of the moment. However, afterwards when we still feel angry at something that someone said or did, we can choose how we want it to affect us. We can choose our behavior.
The second is that we should be grateful each day. Try to find the joy in the small things. Have fun now. Easier said than done,
but practice helps. When I’m feeling sad, I try to drag myself out of it by being grateful for small things. I will feel grateful that the traffic lights are all green and give me a clear run. I will feel grateful that it doesn’t rain when I’m pushing the baby carrier into town. Acknowledging the small things can help lift my mood.
We should remember that we still have dreams and things we would like to have and that nothing can stop us from being grateful for what we have now and trying to find happiness now.
I hope my dear daughter can remember the two lessons whether I will be around her or not and lead a happy life.

The best mistake I ever made was when I was 24 years old and a senior at New York University (NYU). At the time, I was planning to get a law and business degree after graduation and wasn’t even job hunting.
One day, I walked into the student center looking to get a soda, but instead found a roomful of students wearing suits and ties and holding a stack of resumes (简历). Clearly, I had accidentally walked into a job fair. I was casually dressed and had a scarf on my head because I hadn’t washed my hair that morning. I tried to walk across the hall when a man stopped me with his hand reached out. “Hi, my name is Donny McKenthan. Would you like to work for IBM? ”I replied, “Uh, no, thank you, I’m just getting something to drink from that machine over there.”
I ended up having a wonderful conversation with him, but I told him there was no way he could convince me. My course was set. I went out for dinner that night with some friends. When I mentioned my story, they couldn’t believe I was foolish enough to turn down interviewing with this amazing company! I went home that night, dug out his card from the garbage bin and called him back.
After a series of successful interviews, an IBM manager called me to extend an offer, which would be followed up in a few days in writing. When I asked what the salary was, he cryptically(含糊其辞)said $ 18,000. In my mind, I thought $ 18,000 a year was low, given what I had been earning for part-time work paying my way through NYU. So I told him I thought I should earn more, and started to negotiate. He was surprised and explained that the starting salary for all trainees was set in store.
The next day, I received the offer in the mail. As it turned out, I misunderstood the offer---I would earn $1,8000 a month. That was a great salary, so of course, I took the job. I never did tell my manager about my mistake, but a few months later he placed me in sales because I was the only trainee who had tried to negotiate a starting! That comedy of errors ended up being a wonderful 22-year career at IBM.

A.He did very well in the training.
B.He had a law and business degree.
C.He was brave enough to negotiate.
D.He was a person full of curiosity.
50.What does the author intend to do by writing the passage?
A.To inform us of the key to impressing employers in a job fair
B.To share with us his life experience of fun errors.
C.To convince us that life is full of uncertainty.
D.To interpret the great significance of negotiation.

Most of us will be familiar with the traditional talent show set-up: thousands of hopefuls line up outside the audition (试音) room, wait for hours, go in and perform for a group of judges. Then these potential pop stars could be lucky and get through to the next round, or they might hear the command, “Sorry, it’s a ‘no’ from me”. But what do the judges actually bring to a talent show?
Music talent show judges attract millions of viewers each week to their programs. As public figures, they play an important part in advertising campaigns for these programs. But they often receive high salaries and can be moody (情绪化的). Are they really worth the expenses and difficulties that they can cause? One solution might be to replace them with computers.
Can computers really match human judges? Scientist Dr. Nick Collins and his team at the University of Sussex think they can. Dr. Collins has been working on a project that involves programming
three computerized judges that he says would be far more consistent in their judgment of musical performances. Employing a special programming language, Dr. Collins’s digital judges can be trained up by “listening”to particular musical styles. After they have been listening for a while, the programming language allows these judges to spot the specific features of the music. It takes eight hours to train the electronic judges in this way. During this time, they analyze lots of information about each track (录音) they listen to, including the voice quality of the music, the rhythm (节奏) and the way the tracks change over time.
Collins even says that the judges also have pet hates or guilty pleasures and that he can’t expect how they will turn out. He adds, “The judges’lis tening ability is not yet as good as a human ear, but they won’t be as moody as some human reality TV show judges.”
Maybe that’s the problem with this electronic musical change. Real human judges on talent shows interest us with their personality, decisions and humorous words. Will a computer be able to do the same?
51.The setup of the traditional talent show is described in Paragraph 1 to.
A.find out more potential pop star
B.show the popularity of the talent show
C.make people familiar with the talent show
D.bring up the topic of talent show judges

A.Music talent shows are very popular nowadays.
B.There are too many advertisements in talent show programs.
C.There are some problems with talent show judges.
D.Judges are very important in the talent show programs.
53.Which of the following best describes how Collins’s computerized judges work?
A.They follow the change of each track.
B.They assess the voice quality of specific music.
C.They discover the characteristics of the music after listening to it.
D.They imitate the specific features of different music styles.
E.How does Collins think about his computerized judges?
F.They will be perfect for any talent show.
G.They can listen as well as human ears.
H.They will be welcomed by the public.
I.They can judge more fairly than human judges.
54.What’s the writer’s opinion about replacing real human
judges with computerized ones?
A.Doubtful.
B. Interested.
C. Satisfied.
D. Optimistic.

第一节:阅读表达(共 5 小题;每小题 2 分,满分 10 分)

When I made the decision to take a gap year, it wasn’t a big deal. I supposed I would earn some money, and then travel somewhere far away to have an incredible adventure.
Two months later, I was on a plane for Thailand. Upon arrival at Wildlife Friends Foundation of Thailand (WFFT), I was in love. The animals, the atmosphere, the community, everything here surpassed any expectation I had ever had. WFFT is an
organization that takes in animals, wild or domestic, and cares for them until they can be released back into the wild.
At the end of my three months at WFFT, I was very sick and scared, so I changed travel plans and left Asia early. It wasn’t a decision I made lightly. It was necessary, and I was proud of myself for making the choice to take care of myself and not feel like a failure. I didn’t feel like my adventure had been cut short; it was simply a change of plans. Instead of going home, I flew to Tacoma, WA to visit my sister.
One of the most im portant things I’ve learned this year is to just keep putting one foot in front of the other; whether it’s a challenge or change, the best way to get through it is one step at a time.

changed greatly and have learned more than I have ever realized. I’ve

参考范文:
Dear principal,
I am Li Hua, chaiman of the Student Union. I’m writing to invite your school to take part in our school’s upcoming Dragon Boat Race from May 25th to 30th on Haihe River in Tianjin.
The event is a fantastic opportunity for our schools to develop closer ties and to promote cultural exchange. The annual Dragon Boat Festival is one of China’s most important cultural events, in memory of the ancient poet Qu Yuan, who drowned himself after being falsely accused of corruption. It will provide students the chance to learn from each other, improve their boating skills and promote friendship.
We know that Cambridge High School has an outstanding boating team and would love
you to take part. We’d appreciate hearing from your reply before May 10th.
Yours
sincerely,
Li Hua
