China has made environmental protection one of its basic national policies,regarding it as an important strategy in the realization of sustained economic development.//As a member of the international community,China has taken an active part in international environmental protection affairs and tried her best to promote international cooperation in environmental protection.//Mankind still faces many difficulties in solving the problems of the environment and development.Every country is confronted with the dual task of developing the economy and protecting the environment.//China will,as always,cooperate with other countries of the world and strive fro the protection of the environment for human survival,for the happiness and prosperity of humanity.//
2.I am speaking in strong protest against the construction of very tall buildings in the city,such as skyscrapers.Skyscrapers are a man-made hazard,which will have damaging effects on our environment and our lives.//As an increasing number of ecologists point out,a cluster of high-rise buildings in a city often overburden public transportation and parking-lot capacities.//Skyscrapers are lavish consumers of electric power.Moreover,skyscrapers block bird flyways,and obstruct air traffic.//I think many architects build skyscrapers for personal ambition,at the cost of the environment.To protect our environment for us and for our children,we should stop our cities from growing any higher.(2002,10)p229

3.任何野生物种都是生态链上的关键环节，它对于建立生态平衡有很大帮助。

//另一方面，随着现代科学技术的发展，人类开始了了解野生动物。

Any species of wildlife,kas a critical joint of the ecological chain,helps to establish the ecological balance.//If one species becomes extinct,it will disappear forever.What is more,it will inevitably result in the extinction of a chain of wildlife and the disruption of the ecological balance.Unpreditable disasters may occur.//One the other hand,with the development of modern science and technology,man is just beginning to learn about wildlife.For instance,wildlife preserves unknown genetic codes,which may turn out to be of vital importance and free human beings from fatal siseases in the future.//
4.由于人类近年来对于自然资源的过度开采和利用，导致自然环境的状况日益恶化，人类应当为自己的未来而担忧了。

//由于对于树木的过度砍伐，大量的热带雨林开始消亡，一些热带动植物濒临灭绝。

更严重的是，树木的大量消失使得大量的水土流失，造成荒漠化，便得沙尘瀑肆虐，严重影响了空气质量。

//另一方面，工业化的推进带来了一系列的污染，水污染，空气污染，再加上的越来越多的汽车排出的有毒气体和物质，如二氧化碳，二氧化硫在对臭氧层千万破坏的同时，也对人类的健康和生命造成了巨大的威胁。

//这种恶性循环还带来了更为严重的后果，不断的环境污染导致全球变暧，气温上升，不仅破坏了自然物种的栖息地，而且还带来了一系列的自然灾害，大旱，洪水，台风，龙卷风，冰川融化不断在我们赖以生存的地球肆虐，终有一天，人类要为自己今天的所作所为而付出代价。

Human beings’overexploration and exploitation of the natural resources contribute to the degradation of the natural environment,which should arouse our worry about our future.//Due to over logging,huge amount of rain forests and species are dying.Even worse,the loss of trees causes loss of water and soil,leading to desertification,sandstorm and the deterioration of air quality.//On the other hand,industrialization triggers a series of pollution as water contamination and air pollution plus more poisonous gases and substances from increasing cars.Moreover,the poisonuous gases such as carbon dioxide,sulphur dioxideemitted not only damage the ozone layer,but threaten our health and life.//This vicious cycle brings even more severe consequence,global warming,rising temperature are destroying the natrual habitat of plants and animals and causing natural disasters,drought,flood,typhoon,tornado,melting of glaciers are plaguing on earth where we live.One day,we’ll pay for what we are doing now.//。
