Many of us are more likely to praise someone with low self-esteem(自尊心)than someone with high self-esteem because we think their need for positive comments is greater. However,it is found that compliments(夸奖)might not benefit people with low self-esteem at all,and can even make them feel uncomfortable. In one study, college students with low self-esteem showed a stronger preference for keeping their current roommate if that roommate viewed them negatively, than if their roommate saw them more positively.
Why did they prefer the company of a person who regarded them poorly? The answer is that people actively seek to confirm their own views of themselves, whether those are positive or negative. When our self-esteem is low, positive comments become difficult for us to absorb because it goes against our existing self-beliefs.And if we believe we're incapable of success, receiving praise about how capable we are can feel like a set-up for future disappointment.
The resistance(抗拒)people with low self-esteem have to compliments can be especially obvious when the praise comes from their partners.Giving people with low self-esteem praise about being considerate was enough to make them feel more insecure about their partners and even view their entire relationship more negatively.Praise will make them become more distant and withdrawn,as they hope unconsciously to lower their partner's expectations by doing so.
The connection between low self-esteem and a resistance to compliments should not be over-explained.People with low self-esteem are often uncomfortable receiving compliments but not everyone who is uncomfortable receiving compliments necessarily has low self-esteem.For example,it is much more acceptable to praise children in some cultures than in others and it is much more acceptable to express positive regard to adults in some cultures than in others.
The bottom line is:give thought to the listener when you voice a compliment and consider whether you should express it at all if you suspect their self-esteem is low.
56.What do we know about people with low self-esteem?
A.They tend to feel lonely in a group
B.They need greater positive comments..
C.They are often unwilling to praise others.
D.They often don't like to be praised.
57.We often judge others'comments according to_______,when our self-esteem is low.
A.whether they are positive or not
B.whether they make us appear unique
C.whether they agree with our self-beliefs
D.whether they can improve our self-confidence
58.How do people with low self-esteem respond to compliments from their partners?
A.They become closer to their partners.
B.They react negatively to their partners'praise.
C.They feel more secure about their relation.
D.They try to do better to meet their partners'expectations.
59.What can we learn from Paragraph4?
A.Children need more compliments than criticism.
B.Receiving criticism makes people more confident.
C.Adults feel more comfortable receiving compliments.
D.Praise can be influenced by cultural background.
60.What does the passage mainly talk about?
A.What makes some people hate compliments?
B.How to praise people in a right way.
C.What can we learn from others'compliments?
D.How to help people overcome low self-esteem.

When you think about creativity, some highly creative people like Mozart,da Vinci or Einstein may spring to mind. They were all considered to be"geniuses"for their somewhat special talents leading to global innovation(革新)in their fields.Their type of creativity is what's known as"Big C creativity"and is not very common in everyday life. Not all of us can create works of art or music or scientific theories that are new to the world.
But we all have creative qualities that can help as we solve life's problems and make decisions. It might not sound very creative, but this aspect of creativity relies on our ability to consider options and assess their suitability,as well as how to make decisions based on personal experience or what we have learned. These examples are known as"small c creativity".It is the small c creativity that makes human society develop over centuries, which sets us apart from other animals. And it is also this creativity that can be found in our education system and the workplace.
Traditionally, research tells us that creativity has been largely associated with the arts. But it is increasingly realized that creativity actually exists among all subjects.Training teachers to ask particular types of questions can be one way to help support creativity. So,it is important that children should have a"complete education"because working out solutions to problems and explanations is a creative process.
In a rapidly changing world, creativity is important for people and society on many levels. This is why creative thinking must be a key priority in education.Research also shows"thinking creatively"is more important than"creativity".After all,it's creative thinking that leads to problem solving and innovation in a range of areas. Then it is necessary for you to know more about creative thinking.

Since1928,educational technology has gone through periods when the newest devices received great welcome, yet did little to improve learning. In fact, few technologies are widely used by educators particularly in universities. But for the past20years,researchers have progressed with a vision of"mixed reality".It provides a system where students, educators, physical resources and technology can all work together. At first,it was limited to research labs, but we have seen a major increase in the use of mixed reality technology in recent years. And it's of particular use in classroom settings.
Virtual(虚拟的)reality is already used for teaching at several universities. But VR technology requires users to wear a headset that blocks out the real world, removing learners from the classroom, and placing them in their own virtual space. This makes it hard for educators to work with the technology during a class.
On the other hand, mixed reality,as observed through devices such as HoloLens, could allow users to remain a physical part of the class. In this way,the live educator remains part of the direct experience, with verbal(口头的)instructions and teaching continuing as normal. It also allows the students'hands to be free.so they can write notes or make use of resources around the teaching space. This new range of devices may bridge the gap between the teacher-directed style of lessons and the student undergoing self-study away from live instruction.
Mixed reality provides a situation where students, educators, physical resources and technology can all work together to create an improved learning environment like never before. The HoloLens remains
a development edition, with the consumer release date still unannounced. But,with large investments, this technology is here to stay, and will only improve. It is likely to change the way we teach, transform the style of teaching and revolutionize the learning experience

2019--2020--1天津一中高三年级三月考英语试卷
第II卷(非选择题,共35分)
第四部分写作
第一节:阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读短文,并按照题目要求用英语回答问题。
I am Amy,24,from Oakland University in USA.I knew for years that I wanted to study abroad in South Korea. The fast-paced technology environment of the country together with the rich culture fascinated me.I had to go there and experience them for myself.
During my stay in Korea,I was able to travel to many places very easily. My favorite excursions(游览)included going hiking in the mountains, making traditional Korean pottery, playing on the beach with other foreign students, and exploring various cultural destinations Korea has offered.I studied at Yonsei University and was able to have fun in classes with students from all over the world and learn Korean together.I loved attending the classes although they were kind of difficult for me
When studying abroad,I was able to teach English at a senior citizen center and help children in a poorer neighborhood in Seoul.I could also try amazing food, see incredible music and dance performances, and finally have an experience that would change me and allow me to make new friends.
The process before I left was kind of intimidating because I wondered if I could get everything together right.I think that some students are afraid of dealing with the preparation, which makes them give up studying abroad. What I learned is that the International Education Office at Oakland University has sent students abroad time and time again and the staff there are always enthusiastic about answering questions and helping you out along the way.You don't have to plan your experience alone and once you get the preparation done and head off to your destination,it's1,000times worth it.It will be an experience you will carry with you forever.
I got to volunteer to help children and elderly people during my stay in Korea and those volunteering experiences were the most rewarding for me.By spending time with Korean people, I got to learn more about the culture and the language than I would have if I had stayed in my comfort zone.I would also advise the students who want to study abroad to make new friends with
other foreign students. You'll be exposed to so many different people and it will broaden your horizons in ways you never realized.

书面表达
Dear friends,
I’m Li Jin,a student from Rui Si International High School.Today,it is my great privilege to be here to deliver my speech. My topic is Feeling changes around,Telling Stories of China aloud.
What I want to mention first is that more and more people, urban citizens in particular, are becoming more aware of the importance of environmental protection, and they go all out to participate in the campaign of garbage sorting, making the best of the recyclables, avoiding much waste as well as reducing garbage pollution to some extent. What’s more,it is obvious that traditional Chinese culture has gained its popularity home and abroad. We can witness many people are learning Chinese poems,Chinese painting and Chinese history and so on,which will definitely promote the development of traditional Chinese culture in the long run.
As far as I can see,our society as well as our life will surely change for the better. Our culture will definitely attract more foreigners to come to China.
I sincerely hope everyone present can feel the changes around and tell the stories of China aloud by yourself just as I’m doing here.
Thank you for listening!。
