Today was my first day of English education internship. I was filled with both excitement and nervousness as I entered the classroom. The students were eager and waiting for me to start the lesson.
I began by introducing myself and explaining the objectives of the internship. I wanted to create a fun and interactive learning environment for the students to improve their English skills.
I started with a warm-up activity to engage the students. They had to introduce themselves in English and share one interesting fact about themselves. This helped me assess their speaking abilities and build rapport with them.
Next, I moved on to the main lesson. I decided to focus on vocabulary improvement, so I taught the students a variety of new words. We played games like word association and memory games to reinforce their learning. It was great to see the students actively participating and enjoying the activities.
After the vocabulary lesson, we practiced speaking and pronunciation. I gave each student a topic and asked them to speak for a minute. This helped them build confidence and improve their fluency. I also provided feedback and gave tips on how to improve their pronunciation.
Towards the end of the class, I assigned homework which involved writing a short paragraph using the new vocabulary. This would help them practice their writing skills and reinforce what they learned in class.
Overall, it was a successful first day of my English education internship. The students were responsive and seemed to enjoy the lesson. I look forward to the rest of my internship and helping the students achieve their English language goals.

Dear Diary,
Today was my first day of an English education internship at a local primary school. I was both excited and nervous to start this new experience, but as soon as I arrived at the school, I felt welcomed by the friendly staff members.
In the morning, I observed a Grade 5 English class. The teacher was engaging and had a variety of teaching methods to keep the students interested. She started the class with a warm-up activity, where the students had to match English words with their Chinese equivalents. This activity not only helped the students review vocabulary, but also allowed them to practice their pronunciation.
After the warm-up, the teacher introduced a new grammar point - comparative adjectives. She used real-life examples and encouraged the students to come up with their own sentences using comparative adjectives. I was impressed by how involved the students were in the lesson and how confident they were in speaking English.
In the afternoon, I had the opportunity to assist the teacher with a Grade 3 English class. The students were learning about animals and their habitats. The teacher used flashcards and pictures to introduce different animals, their characteristics, and where they live. The students were then divided into groups and had to present a short skit about their favorite animal and its habitat. I was amazed by the creativity and language skills the students exhibited during their presentations.
At the end of the day, I had a meeting with the English department coordinator. She asked for my feedback on the lessons I observed and the activities I participated in. I felt valued as an intern, as she really listened to my suggestions and thoughts.
Overall, it was a rewarding and educational first day of my English education internship. I learned a lot from the experienced teachers and witnessed firsthand the progress the students have made. I can't wait for the next day and the opportunities it may bring.
Until next time,
