一、教学内容与目标
1.教学内容: Seasons in Canada
2.教学目标:
a.在综合复习第二单元关于四季特征的基础上,能够了解加拿大的四季和相应的活动。
b.能够读懂Read and answer 部分的小短文,回答文后问题,并能模仿短文进行语篇写作。
二、教学重点:
有关描述加拿大四季特征和表达自己最喜欢季节及原因的语句
三、教学难点:
教师能通过开展有效的阅读教学活动,培养学生良好的英语阅读习惯和读后的写作能力。
四、课前准备
多媒体课件
五、教学过程:
Step1、 Pre-reading
1. Teacher show a funny picture, please students review the words: “seasons/spring/summer/fall(autumn)/winter”.
2. Find the weather of the seasons
T show CAI, please student find the correct weather. T asks “What’s the weather like in…” Answer it with “It always/usually…..”
3. Talk about the favorite season
T makes a dialogue with the Ss. E.g.: What’s your favorite season? Why? What can you do in …..? You can find many things to do.
4. Guess lantern riddle
T: I know your favorite season. Do you know what my favorite season is? Yeah, my favorite season is winter. Because we can welcome the New Year. And I like to guess the lantern riddles. Now I show some riddles to you! Please guess! OK?
Teacher show four riddles: A. It is beautiful. It often rains. You can watch the flowers in the garden! What is it? B. It is cold. It usually snows. But you can ski. What is it?
Ss read and guess them.
Step2 、While-reading
1. Boy’s show
T: Wow, you’re clever. So Miss Yu gives you a present. A pretty show! Do you want to see? Then look the show together.
T: Who is in the show? S: Mike.
T: What can you see? S: He is swim. It’s raining …
T: Yes, he shows the seasons in Canada. Also his show is in our books. Please open your books. Let’s listen and follow it.
2. Play the recording. Ss follow it. After the read, explain the difficult sentences.
3. Discuss with partners.
T: But Miss Yu has some questions. I don’t understand. Can you help me? Please discuss with your partner.
(Question:1. What can Mike do in the four seasons in Canada? 2. Which season does Mike like best?)
Ss answer the questions one by one.
Step 3: Post-reading
1. Say and act
T shows the picture of seasons. Please Ss say it and act the seasons.
2. Write the sentences
T: Wow, you did the good job. From Mike’s show, we know spring in
Canada often raining, summer in Canada is hot, winter in Canada is very long, so people like to play hockey. Although the fall in Canada is short, but the fallen maple leaves are very beautiful. So you can see that the maple leaf is a symbol in Canada’s flag. Do you like them? But I think you must like seasons in China very much! Yes or No??
S: Yes.
T: OK! Now let’s enjoy the seasons in China! Wow, the seasons in China are very nice, too. So we’ll protect the environment! Let our country be more and more beautiful! Also we can write our seasons, too. It like this …You can do it after the class…

(1)Listen to and repeat “Read and answer”.
(2)Write a essay of China.
