A Special Day for Mommy
Today is a very special day called International Women's Day! My teacher Ms. Roberts told our class that it's a day to celebrate all the amazing women and girls in the world. She said we should do something nice for the important women in our lives, like our moms, grandmas, aunts, and sisters.
I really wanted to do something great for my mommy because she is the best mommy ever. She takes such good care of me and my little brother Tommy. Every morning she wakes us up with kisses and makes us yummy breakfasts like pancakes or oatmeal. Then she gets us dressed and packs our lunches before walking us to the school bus stop.
After school, mommy is always there waiting for us with a big smile and a snack like apple slices or crackers. She helps us with our homework and plays games with us until daddy gets home from work. Then she cooks a delicious dinner for all of us to eat together as a family.
Mommy works really hard taking care of our family. But she never complains, not even when Tommy spills his juice or I tracker dirt all over the clean floors. She just cleans it up while singing one of her favorite songs. I don't know how she does it all!
At night after Tommy and I are tucked into our beds, mommy still has more work to do. She cleans up the kitchen and living room, does the laundry, and helps daddy with things like paying the bills. I know she must get very tired but she still finds time to read us bedtime stories and kiss us goodnight.
Mommy is the most loving, patient, hardworking person I know. She makes our house a happy home filled with warmth, laughter, and lots of hugs. I'm so grateful for everything she does. That's why for International Women's Day, I decided to do something extra special just for her.
First, I made her a homemade card using my favorite art supplies - bright colored construction paper, kid-safe scissors, glue stick, crayons and markers. On the front I drew a huge heart and wrote "I Love You Mommy!" in my best letters. Inside I wrote "Thank you for all you do! You are the best mom in the whole world." I worked really hard on making it extra neat and colorful
because I wanted mommy to be able to tell how much love and effort I put into it.
Next, I helped daddy make mommy's favorite dessert - a fresh strawberry pie! Daddy let me rinse the strawberries, mix the sugar and cornstarch filling, and crimp the edges of the pie crust. It was a little tricky but daddy helped me and it turned out looking and smelling delicious. I couldn't wait for mommy to try the first slice.
When mommy got home from work that evening, Tommy and I jumped out and yelled "Surprise! Happy International Women's Day!" Mommy looked so happy and gave us both big hugs. I gave her the homemade card I made and she said it was the most beautiful card she had ever received. You could tell she really meant it by the way her eyes got all shiny from happy tears.
Then daddy brought out the fresh strawberry pie and told mommy that Tommy and I had helped make it especially for her. Mommy gasped in delight and told us what good helpers we were. We all sat down together at the table to eat that first slice. When mommy took her first bite, she closed her eyes and said it was incredibly delicious. I felt so proud and happy seeing her enjoy something I had worked hard on.
After the pie, it was time for me and Tommy to go take our baths and get ready for bed. As mommy was tucking me in, I told her "Thank you for being the best mommy. We made that stuff for you because you work so hard for our family and we love you so much!" Mommy had more happy tears in her eyes as she pulled me in for the tightest, warmest hug. She said I was the sweetest girl in the world and that she loved me and Tommy more than anything.
Before I fell asleep, I thought about what a wonderful day it had been celebrating my amazing mommy. I felt so lucky to have a mom who loves me unconditionally and works so hard every single day to take care of me and our family. Doing those special things for her on International Women's Day was my small way of showing her how much I appreciate everything she does. I hope I made mommy feel as loved and respected as she makes me feel every day. I can't wait to celebrate her again next year!

A Special Day for My Mommy
Today was a very special day - it was International Women's Day! My teacher told us that on this day, we celebrate all the amazing women and girls around the world. She said women are
strong, brave, and do so many important things to make the world better. I knew right away I wanted to do something nice for the most important woman in my life - my mommy!
Mommy works really hard taking care of me and my little brother every single day. She wakes us up with big hugs and makes us yummy breakfasts like pancakes or oatmeal. Then she gets us ready for school, packing our lunches and making sure we have everything we need. After dropping us off, mommy goes to her job at the big office downtown. She's really smart and good with numbers, so she helps companies keep track of their money.
When mommy comes home in the evening, she's always smiling and happy to see us, even though I know she must be tired from working all day. She helps me and my brother with our homework, and then makes a delicious dinner for our whole family to eat together. Mommy is an amazing cook - her spaghetti and meatballs is my absolute favorite!
After dinner, it's family time. We might read stories, play games, or just talk and laugh together. Mommy is so silly and fun, always telling jokes and being goofy to make us giggle. When it's time for bed, she tucks us in, gives us hugs and kisses, and sings beautiful songs until we fall asleep feeling safe and loved.
On the weekends, mommy plans special activities and adventures for us. We've gone to museums, parks, the zoo, and so many other exciting places, all because my mommy works hard so we can have those fun experiences as a family. Sometimes we just stay home and bake yummy treats together like cookies or a big cake. Those are my favorite days, just being cozy at home making memories with my mom.
I really don't know how my mommy finds the time and energy to do absolutely everything she does for me, my brother, and my dad. She takes such good care of all of us and always puts our family first, no matter what. My mommy is the strongest, bravest, most loving and caring person I know. That's why I wanted to do something extra special for her on International Women's Day this year.
First, I helped my brother make a beautiful card for mommy. We used all the colors of the rainbow and drew big hearts, flowers, and smiley faces. Inside we wrote how much we love her and how thankful we are for everything she does. I also helped my dad pick out a pretty bracelet to give mommy as a gift.
In the morning before school, I got up a little bit early to make mommy's favorite breakfast - blueberry pancakes! With my dad's help, I mixed up the batter, folded in the juicy
blueberries, and carefully poured the pancakes on the griddle. They looked (and smelled) so delicious! I set the table all fancy with a vase of fresh flowers and poured a big glass of orange juice for mommy.
When mommy came downstairs, my brother and I yelled "Surprise!! Happy International Women's Day!" Her face immediately lit up with the biggest smile. I could see tears in her eyes when she saw the pancakes, card, bracelet, and fancy table we had set for her. She pulled us both in for a huge, long hug.
"You two are the sweetest, most thoughtful kids a mommy could ever ask for," she said. "This is such an amazingly special surprise. Thank you for making me feel so loved and appreciated on International Women's Day, and every single day. You are my whole world."
We all sat down together to enjoy the pancakes I had made. Mommy said they were delicious - the best blueberry pancakes ever! She gave me and my brother a million kisses all over our faces, leaving sticky syrup marks everywhere. We laughed and laughed, feeling happier than I could even describe.
After breakfast, it was time for me and my brother to leave for school. Before we went out the door, I turned to mommy one last time.
"I love you so much, mommy," I said with my whole heart. "You really are the most wonderful woman in the entire world."
Mommy's eyes filled with happy tears again as she hugged me tight. "Thank you, baby. You and your brother make me proud every day to be your mom. This was the best International Women's Day ever."
As I waved goodbye and headed to school, I felt so proud and grateful that I could make my mommy feel extra loved and celebrated on this special day for incredible women like her. My mommy is a real life superhero, and I'll never stop appreciating her for all the ways she makes our family's world brighter and happier every single day.

My Special Surprise for Mommy on Women's Day
Today was a very special day - it was International Women's Day! I learned all about this important day at school last week. My teacher, Mrs. Johnson, told our class that Women's Day is a time to celebrate all the amazing women and mothers in our lives. She said women are strong, smart, and do so much to take care of their families and make the world better.
I knew right away that I wanted to do something extra special for my mommy on Women's Day. Mommy works really hard taking care of me and my little brother Tommy. She cooks all our meals, helps us with homework, plays with us, and tucks us into bed at night with hugs and stories. Mommy is my best friend and I love her more than anything!
After school, I had a great idea for a surprise I could make for Mommy's Women's Day gift. I would make her a beautiful card and draw her a picture! I found some colorful construction paper, crayons, markers, stickers, and glitter glue in my arts and crafts bin. This was going to be the prettiest, most sparkly card ever!
First, I took a piece of pink paper and very carefully drew a huge heart in the middle using my red crayon. I made sure to press down hard so the color was extra bright and vibrant. Next, I used my purple marker to write "I Love You Mommy!" in big bubbly letters under the heart. I added some green squiggly lines all around for borders and decoration.
For the inside of the card, I drew a picture of me holding Mommy's hand while we walked together in the park. I drew fluffy white clouds, tall trees with apples, and lots of colorful flowers. Mommy loves the outdoors so I knew she would love
this picture. To make it extra pretty, I used my glitter glue to add some sparkles to the sky, trees, and my shirt.
The final step was adding the perfect decorations to the front cover. I plastered on tons of fun heart stickers in all different shades of red, pink, and purple. For the very center, I found a big foamy sticker that said "Best Mom Ever" in swirly rainbow letters. I just knew Mommy would adore getting a homemade card from her little girl on Women's Day.
I could hardly wait for Mommy to get home from work that evening so I could surprise her. As soon as I heard the door open, I ran over and proudly presented her with my beautiful card. "Happy Women's Day, Mommy! This is for you, I made it all by myself!"
Mommy's whole face lit up with the biggest smile when she saw what I made for her. "Oh sweetheart, this is just beautiful! I absolutely love it!" She gave me a huge hug and kissed the top of my head. "You are such a thoughtful, caring little girl. This is the most special Women's Day gift I could ever ask for."
I felt so proud and happy that my hard work had made Mommy's day. She hung the card up on the fridge right away so everyone could see my pretty artwork. For the rest of the evening, Mommy kept giving me hugs and telling me how much she
cherished my homemade surprise. "You'll always be my number one little girl," she said with a warm smile.
That night, I went to bed feeling so loved and grateful for my amazing mommy. I can't wait to make her another special Women's Day gift next year! Women's Day reminds me why Mommy is the best mom in the whole world. She works harder than anyone I know to take care of me and our family. Mommy is strong, brave, smart, caring, and talented at everything she does. She makes me want to grow up to be an incredible woman just like her someday.
I hope that every kid got to do something nice for their mommy, grandma, aunts, and other special ladies on Women's Day this year. Women are pretty much the most awesome people ever and deserve to be celebrated all the time! I'm so lucky to have the world's greatest mommy. I love you, Mom - thank you for everything you do for me. You are the best woman I know!。
