Abstract Objective：To investigate the knowledge of alveolar bone resorption among dentists，and to guide dentists and patients to establish the concept that health and prevention come first. Methods：A questionnaire sur⁃ vey was conducted among the dentists in hospitals at all levels in Sichuan，China，and the main contents of the ques⁃ tionnaire included the prevalence rate of alveolar bone resorption in patients treated by dentists，the source of the knowledge of alveolar bone resorption，and the understanding of the prevention and treatment of alveolar bone re⁃ sorption. Then SPSS 20.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results：Most of the patients treated by dentists had the problem of alveolar bone absorption，most of the knowledge of alveolar bone resorption came from textbooks，with
