摘要：
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic damper for a washing machine, which effectively damps vibration of equipment generating large vibration (large strokes) and small vibration (small strokes).
SOLUTION: When a piston 5 moves greatly upward (downward) with respect to an extending side (contracting side) disc valve 16 (17), the disc valve is seated on a valve seat 21a(21b) to close communicating passages 19, 19 and a contracting side (extending side) communicating passage 20b(20a) to thereby generate high damping force. When the piston 5 moves slightly, the piston 5 moves within a range where the extending side and contracting side disc valves 16, 17 are spaced from the valve seats 21a, 21b. Since oil flows back and forth through the communicating passages 19, 19, the extending side communicating passage 20a and the contracting side communicating passage 20b, oil passages are not throttled, and a piston rod 6 moves without resistance (low damping force).
