In1912, The republic of China was founded,Sun Zhongshan,the temporary president of government, put forward the magnificent railway construction plan,but because many reasons,the plan can not become into true.
One hundred and fifty years ago, the railway was regarded as“QiJi YinQiao”in China,and now, “The Lifeline of The National Economy“has launched an unprecedented great-leap-forward development. China's railway development, the testimony of a country’s changes in one hundred.
Datong to Qinhuangdao railway(大秦铁路) is the only coal transportation line,and the first overloaded unit railway in China,it is from Datong,Shanxi province,to Qinhuagndao,Hebei province, is 660 km.
Chengdou to Kunming railway(成昆铁路)is the most difficult railway after liberation, about 1100 km long,lasted 12 years.Because of natural and construction conditions,a lot of people laid down their lives for this railway.
Chengdou to Chongqing railway (成渝铁路)is the first completed railway after The People's Republic of China was
founded.Construction began in June 1950, completed in June, 1952,the length is 505 km.
In 1875, the British constructed Wusong railway in Shanghai, about 14.5 km long, it is the first operation railway of China. In 1881,the Qing dynasty government started to build railways, Tangxu (唐胥) railway is the first offical railway. China is the third country which built raiway in Asia.
July 1, 2006,Qing-Zang railway is completed and put into use,it is the highest altitude and the longest plateau railway line , overall length is 1956 km.
In 1909,Jingzhang railway was built and put into use,it is the first railway which was all designed and constructed by Chinese people,Zhan Tianyou,as the chief engineer,created and used “people”word design. From 1881 to 1911,the whole China built about 9000 km railway
Baoji to Chengdou railway(宝成铁路) is first railway between northwest and southwest of China ,about 669 km long,
construction began in July 1952, completed in 1958,and in 1975,it become the first electrified railFra Baidu bibliotekay of China.
October 12, 2003,Qin-Shen railway which is regarded as the China’s first passenger special line is in operation. Special line railway designed speed of 200 km an hour, with the top speed of 300 km.
In 2008, China bulit the first more than 300 km an hour of highspeed railway-the Beijing-Tianjin inter-city railway. In 2009, the longest, the highest high-speed railway was inoperationWuhan-Guangzhou passenger special line.
In1937,a double highway and railway transit bridge -Qiantang river bridge was compeleted, which was designed and built by chinese people,it ‘s designer is Mao Yisheng,but used for only two monthes because of war. From 1937 to 1945,Japanese built more than 6600 km railway in China for transporting goods and materials.
June 30, 2011, Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway begins official operation.
