To translate Song ci into English in a better way , and make more Western readers understand and appreciate it correctly, is of great significance.For the above facts, I select the subject of “A Comparative Study of Two English Versions of Shengshengman from the Perspective of Skopostheory” as the title of my paper.I hope by studying this topic we can help to translate Song ci into English and spread the unique literary around the world, to make more and more westerners to understand and appreciate this unique Chinese literary form.Then, I will show it to you. Through the comparative analysis of the two English versions of Shengshengman, the author found that the two versions are consistent to their intended purposes. Lin Yutang's translation is more faithful to the original; and Xu Yuangchong’s version is more common and affluent,and more acceptable to general readship .
