choosingpresents英语作文

choosingpresents英语作文

choosingpresents英语作文The art of choosing presents is a delicate blend of consideration, thoughtfulness, and creativity. It involves understanding the recipient's tastes, preferences, and needs, while also considering the occasion and the message you want to convey. The first step in choosing a present is to understand the recipient. Consider their hobbies, interests, and lifestyle. Are they a bookworm who loves to read? Or perhaps a fitness enthusiast who enjoys outdoor activities? Understanding their passions and interests will help you narrow down your choices and find a present that they will truly appreciate.Next, consider the occasion. Is it a birthday, an anniversary, or a holiday? Each occasion calls for a different type of present. For birthdays, you might opt for something fun and personal, like a customized gift or a unique experience. For anniversaries, a more romantic or sentimental gift might be appropriate, such as a piece of jewelry or a framed photo. The message you want to convey is also crucial. Do you want to express your gratitude, show your love, or celebrate a milestone? Your choice of present should reflect your feelingsand intentions. A heartfelt card or a handwritten letter can often add a personal touch and deepen the meaning of your gift. Finally, don't forget about the budget. Presents can range from inexpensive to extravagant, but it's important to choose something that fits your financial situation. Remember, the value of a present isn't measured by its price tag; it's the thought and effort behind it that truly matter. In conclusion, choosing presents is an act of care and consideration. It requires thoughtfulness and creativity to find the perfect gift that will resonate with the recipient. By understanding their interests, considering the occasion, and expressing your message through your choice, you can create a meaningful and memorable experience for both yourself and the lucky recipient.。

2020河北中考英语复习三轮复习课时小测题型突破任务型阅读.doc

题型三任务型阅读话题1咨询建议(2019年、2015年考查)Passage 1(2019 福建改编)Have you ever heard the phrase "You never get a second chance to make a first impression(印象)''?It may sound like an unusual piece of advice, but it is true——the first impression someone has of you when meeting you for the first time will probably influence how that person treats you or reacts to you in the future. What is even more interesting is that the brain takes in all the information to create that first impression in about three seconds. When you meet someone for the first time, by the time you have stated your name or shaken hands, the other person has already formed an opinion about the kind of person you are.So how do you make a good first impression? All things grown-ups tell you—such as being polite, and being well-dressed—are very important. However, the most important tool for making a good first impression is your face. Smiling, being responsive, and looking like you are happy will almost always leave a positive(积极的)impression on people, especially those who do not know you. Most people, generally speaking, are ready to smile back when they are smiled at.Furthermore, smiling and being in a positive mood helps you to know and get a better understanding of new things. This means that you can possibly be friendlier to people you do not know and be more creative and able to solve problems more quickly. So if you ever need a reason to be happy, think about the wonderful people you might meet—and impress 一with a cheerful smile.1、2题完成句子;3题简略回答问题;4题用英语简要概括出本文的主旨大意;5题将文中画线句子译成汉语。

哪种是更好的老板?第七条规则:敞开心扉现在让我们检查演讲的三个组成部分:引言,正文和结论。

制度管人,流程管事的英语

制度管人,流程管事的英语

制度管人,流程管事的英语1. "In an organization, it's the system that manages the people, just like the traffic rules keep drivers in line. For example, at my old job, we had a strict attendance system. If someone was late too often, there were clear consequences. It was like a referee in a game, making sure everyone played by the rules."2. "You know, the process is what takes care of things, just as a recipe guides the cooking. Let's say we were doing a project at school. There was a set process for how we should research, write, and present. If we followed the process, things went smoothly, just like following a map to reach your destination."3. "System over people - it might sound strict, but it's necessary. It's like a fence around a garden. In my club, we had a system for member participation. If you didn't contribute as required, well, you couldn't enjoy all the benefits. It's like you can't pick the flowers in the garden if you don't help tend it."4. "Processes are like the gears in a machine that keep things running. Take a manufacturing plant I visited. They had a detailed process for assembling products. Each step was clear, and if one worker skipped a step, it was like a gear missing in the machine - the whole production could be affected."5. "The system for people management is like a coach for a sports team. I remember in my son's soccer team. The coach had a system for training, discipline, and playing time. If a player didn't follow the system, it was like they were going against the team spirit, and things didn't work out well."6. "Processes rule the tasks, kind of like a conductor leads an orchestra. In a big event planning, there were processes for booking venues, inviting guests, and arranging entertainment. If we didn't follow those processes, it was chaos, just as an orchestra would be if the musicians didn't follow the conductor."7. "A good system for managing people is like a lighthouse for ships. In my friend'spany, they had a performance evaluation system. It guided the employees on what was expected of them. If an employee ignored it, it was like a ship sailing without the lighthouse - they could get lost in their career growth."8. "Processes are the tracks that things run on. I worked in a delivery service once. There was a process for receiving orders, packing, and delivering. If someone messed up the process, it was like a train going off the tracks - everything got delayed."9. "The system for people is like a set of rails for a roller coaster. At a theme park I worked at, there were rules for the staff. If someone didn't follow the system, it was like the roller coaster going off the rails - it could be dangerous and chaotic for everyone."10. "Processes manage tasks like a shepherd manages sheep. In a software development project I was part of, there was a process for coding, testing, and debugging. If we didn't stick to the process, it was like the sheep scattering without the shepherd - the project would be all over the place."My view is that having a system to manage people and processes to handle tasks is essential for the smooth running and success of any organization or activity. It brings order, efficiency, and predictability, just like how rules and guidelines make our daily lives more organized.。

Guidelines-for-Writing-Letters-of-Recommendation

Guidelines-for-Writing-Letters-of-Recommendation

Guidelines for Writing Letters of Recommendation1 The goal of a letter of recommendation for an academic position or promotion is to provide an overall assessment of the candidateʼs potential to excel in a new position. In other words, what is the candidateʼs professional promise and your evidence to support the assessment? Thus, your letter will identify the characteristics and achievements that are directly relevant to the candidateʼs potential job performance. The key to effective and accurate letter writing is focusing your comments on criteria that are relevant for this evaluation. Traits that should be considered for discussion in a letter include past job/task performances, experience and expertise, intellectual ability, and personal attributes as they pertain to leadership quality, teambuilding, perseverance, and communication skills.Useful letters of recommendation include the following elements:1. Focus on the applicant2. Description of the applicantʼs record3. Evaluation of accomplishments of the applicant4. Discussion of personal characteristics only to the extent that they predict potential growth andjob performanceLetters missing any or all of these elements provide the reader with only a limited understanding of the candidateʼs qualifications.Letters should be complete but concise, and they usually consist of three parts: introduction and background, specific assessments, and summary of recommendation. Letters from primary mentors, supervisors or close collaborators are generally somewhat longer than letters from others. The more detailed the narrative, the more persuasive the recommendation is. An excessively brief letter, even if giving high praise, is often viewed as a weak recommendation, at best interpreted to imply that the writer knows very little about the candidate or (worse) that the writer intends to convey doubt about the qualifications of the candidate without specifically making such statements.Introduction and BackgroundA good letter identifies the candidate, the position for which she/he is applying, and the relationship between the recommender and the candidate. If the recommender wishes to write a strong and supportive letter for the candidate, it is often helpful to make it clear from the outset of the letter and then provide clear documentation of such a favorable recommendation. It is also helpful to describe the type of experience and length of time that the candidate has been known to the recommender. Specific AssessmentsThis is the section of the letter that contains the "data" or evidence for your argument. It should provide specific information about the candidate. Generalizations will be much better received if specific examples can be cited. Ask yourself “how does the information I just wrote support my assertion that this person is a quality candidate?”member. We offer them in the hope that they may be helpful both to experienced faculty letter-writers concerned about writing fair letters, and to new letter-writers who value some guidance in the process. In this section, personal traits that are directly relevant to the job performance can be discussed. Characteristics such as motivation, dependability, patience, creativity, ability to troubleshoot, poise, listening skills, etc. can be discussed. Avoid personal statements that are not related to job performance (past or future). For example, avoid irrelevant statements such as "she is practically part of my family" or "he is very active in his church or other community organization." These may be true, but they decrease the professionalism and impact of the evaluation.Other characteristics that can be discussed include problem-solving abilities, management skills, teaching abilities, knowledge of the subject area, and ability to work with colleagues. Avoid "doubt raisers." These include negative language such as "while not the best student I've had" or faint praise such as "she worked hard on projects that she accepted." Other types of doubt raisers include hedging statements such as "he appears to be highly motivated." (Avoid such words as "appears to" or “seems”—you are the one writing with concrete experience about the candidate). Finally, also avoid potentially negative or unexplained comments. Make your comments direct. For example, unexplained comments that could be open to negative interpretations include: "now that she has chosen to leave the laboratory," and "bright, enthusiastic, responds well to feedback."Summary RecommendationThis section briefly summarizes the main points of the letter and clearly states (or re-states) that you recommend the candidate for the position. The language should be straightforward and to the point. Avoid using jargon, clichés, or language that is too effusive. These are all elements that can be lost on your readers, depending on their experiences, culture, and training. The most effective recommendation letters also include a comparison of the applicant to a reference pool. For example, “…ranks in the top 10% of all undergraduate students that I have ever taught.” You should avoid direct references to another individual: “she/he is better than Joe Smith” or “she/he is almost as good as Jane Chen.”Reading Recommendation LettersFinally, the suggestions in this document are recommendations that can be used to construct effective, fair recommendation letters. You can also apply criteria based on these suggestions when you read and evaluate recommendation letters. Did the letter writer present you with an honest, concise and fair document with which to evaluate the candidate?Notes on Special CircumstancesHow do you handle personal circumstances in the applicantʼs history that may affect time-to-degree or productivity? It is generally better to address this issue than leave it unaddressed. However, talk to the applicant about it first. How do they want to address it? Do they prefer to not address it? Do they need help in deciding if and how to address it? Please keep in mind that if you, as a letter writer, address this situation but are too vague, it can leave a worse impression than not addressing it at all. To create the strongest letter, it is often helpful to present the situation as evidence that the applicant has faced adversity and overcome it, making him/her even stronger. For additional reading:Trix, F. & Psenka, C.(2003). 英文论文10点建议

英文论文10点建议

TOP 10 ESSAY TIPS10. Start early and budget your time. You’ve heard this a million times, but it can be too easy to let time slip away when you must juggle class assignments, work and party time. But starting early can mean simply thinking through and budgeting your time. If there is reading and research involved, then the sooner the better. Starting early will also help you deal with unforeseen problems like difficulty obtaining the required research materials or coming down with the flu just before the paper is due. Starting early helps not only to get through the work, but also to let the ideas steep into your brain.9. Clearly understanding the assignment. If the paper topic is assigned, it is important to clearly understand the assignment. Analyse the topic word by word to understand the requirements and scope of work. You might want to underline key words in the assignment and think about how they relate to the reading and/or lectures. Figure out whether you must interpret or simply state the facts. If in doubt, ask other students or the tutor for clarification.8. Organise your research materials and your thoughts. Not only do you have to read the materials but also you have to clearly organise the information that you are using from other sources. Start by highlighting key points and making notes of these points. As you gather these materials your thoughts should solidify. Think about how you would string this information together in a cohesive flow. Allow yourself to refine or change your approach as you amass the materials. At this point you can further organise your thoughts into an outline format. Even if your paper does not involve research you still should take time to organise your thoughts on paper.7. Learn by Example. If you are confused about writing essays or how to approach the subject matter look for examples. Read other essays to help you understand how to organise and present the information. A great way to deal with it if you’re totally stuck, is to order a custom paper from a reliable company like English Essays. Look at how the author introduces the topic, develops the idea and provides a clear conclusion. Is there a logical approach to the paper? Does it flow like a conversation or a good lecture? How does the writer make the topic interesting? Is the language and style consistent or does seem to jump around? Later when you are reviewing your work, ask the same questions. Compare the effectiveness of your approach. You may want to look at papers withsimilar subject matter to be sure you are writing to standards of that particular field.6. Don’t Plagiarise. Keep track of any quotes or citations. Do not copy other people’s work in any way without the proper citations. Do not simply take someone else’s work and change a few words around. This is cheating and you might get caught. Also remember that there is computer software that can turn-up plagiarism too. So if you use somebody else’s words or ideas you must properly site them as a source.5. Write a quick draft all the way through. Don’t worry too much about the introduction or conclusion. Focus on getting your ideas on paper. Double check to be sure that you get all the material on the page in some form. Write in your own voice, as you would talk to a friend. Write this knowing that you will have time to review and rewrite. If you are prone to rambling or poor grammar, you will need the time to review and rewrite.4. Write multiple drafts. Think about whether you need to rearrange the structure. If you are an experienced writer you may be able to skip a step here. If you reorganise by cut and paste, be sure to integrate the merged sentences to flow. And look at the overall flow of ideas and words. After you have a draft or two, revisit your introduction and conclusion. Does your introduction set-up the subject and the content? Does your conclusion clearly summarize what you have presented without brining-up new ideas? Does your essay make all of the points you set out to make? Does one idea flow to another? Does the language sound natural? If you are not sure your ideas are flowing, try reading out loud. As you write more papers, your writing will begin to flow better. Continue rewriting and refining your words in as much time as you have.3. Clarity of thoughts and economy of words. Writing concisely and clearly forces you to think more clearly. Since language is a tool to express thought, sloppy use of language may imply sloppy thinking. To make every word count, write active sentences with active verbs. But at the same time communicate with a consistent tone. Look-up words that you are unsure about so that you don’t undermine your paper with one glaringly wrong word. Take a printout of your paper and begin to cross-out words that are not needed. You may be surprised at how many words can be eliminated this way. When you do this, review thelanguage to make sure the language continues to flow. This approach should increase the clarity of your writing but may reduce your page count.2. Format and Presentation Count. You may be a genius, but don’t count on that preventing markdowns for poor spelling, improper margins and other stylistic problems. These are marked down for several reasons, ranging from policy requirements to tutors growing tired of sloppy work. If you are unsure of your school’s standards for essays you should get a copy of the guidelines and review them. It would be a shame to get a lower grade for having improper margins or footnote styles. Use a word processor and spell check the work. Print it out on paper and then check it again the next day. You may be amazed at how many mistake you might find even after you thought the work was edited. If you know that you are prone to spelling mistakes and typos, then ask a friend or fellow student to review your work for mistakes, especially if you know a good editor.1. Think Differently (to paraphrase Apple’s marketing wizards). Spend time with the topic and the research. Do you have an angle on the subject that differs from the tutor and sources you have read? Will the tutor give you leeway to come-up with your own take on the assignment or are you to write strictly the facts”. Part of this is knowing the tutor and knowing if original thinking is encouraged or discouraged. But more importantly you must know yourself. Find the things that interest you and find your voice. If you have a unique take on the material you might want to run your ideas past the tutor. Original thinking is not as easy as it might seem. As a student you may think you have a new idea that is actually not at all original. Sometimes comparing two ideas leads to a new way of thinking that outside the box. Being original is risky, and is not always rewarded in the short run. But original thinking may also lead to rewards not only in school but also in your life ahead.。
