当动词不作谓语时，该动词就必须用非谓语形式，即动词的“ing”形式与动词的不定式。

一、下动词后要用不定式：

1.不定式作宾语：

(1)want to do sth (想做某事) (2) would like to do sth (想要做某事)

(3) like to do sth (喜欢做某事) (4) love to do sth (喜爱做某事)

(5) learn to do sth （学做某事）(6) decide to do sth（决定做某事）

（7）begin to do sth （开始做某事）（8）start to do sth （开始做某事）

(9) be ready to do sth（准备做某事）(10) hope to do sth (希望做某事)

2.不定式作主语：It’s time to do sth(该做某事)

3.不定式作目的状语：

(1 ) go (to sw) to do sth (去某地做某事) (2)stop to do sth(停下来开始做某事)

4.不定式作定语：

(1)I want something to eat/drink.(我想吃/喝点什么)

(2)He has many things to do(他有很多事要做).

(3)We have no time to have breakfast.（我们没时间吃早饭）

5.不定式作宾语补足语：

(1) want sb to do sth(想要某人做某事) (2)would like sb to do sth(想要某人做某事)

（3）like sb to do sth(喜欢某人做某事) (4)love sb to do sth(喜爱某人做某事)

(5) ask sb to do sth（请某人做某事）(6) tell sb to do sth（告诉某人做某事）

(7) wish sb to do sth (希望某人做某事)

**注意：以下动词不定式后要省去“to”：

(1) let sb do sth(让某人做某事) （2）make sb do sth(迫使某人做某事)

(3) have sb do sth(让某人做某事) （4）see sb do sth(看见某人做某事)

(5) watch sb do sth(注视着某人做某事) （6）hear sb do sth(听见某人做某事)

(7)help sb ( to) do sth(帮助某人做某事)

二、下情况要用动词的“ing”形式：

1.在所有介词之后作宾语：

(1) How/What about doing sth? （2）be good at doing sth. （3）Thank you for doing sth.

2.以下动词之后：

(1) enjoy doing sth (2) practice doing sth (3) mind doing sth

(4) stop doing sth (5) like doing sth (6) love doing sth

(7) begin doing sth (8) start doing sth (9) spend st/sm doing sth

(10) find sb doing sth (11) see sb doing sth (12)watch sb doing sth

(13) hear sb doing sth (14) do some reading (15) do some cooking

(16) do some cleaning (17) go shopping (18) go swimming

(19) go boating (20) go fishing （21）have fun doing sth

(22) be busy doing sth (23) finish doing sth

三、动词作主语或表语时，用不定式或动名词：

如： 1.Swimming is my favorite sport. To swim is my favorite sport.

2. My favorite sport is swimming. My favorite sport is to swim.
