In the Journey to the Center of the Earth the author
narrated such a adventurous story to us: Professor Von
Hardwigg occasionally got a small scarp of parchment from
a yellow-leaved book, and found that their predecessor had
had a journey to the center of the Earth .So Professor Von
Hardwigg determined to follow their predecessor’s step.
He and his nephew Harry started from Hamburg, and went
to Iceland where they would meet a guider –Hans who would
experience adventures in the center of the Earth with them.
With the predecessors’ guidance, they descent into
Sneffels’s crater in Iceland. During their journey, they
experienced all kinds of hardships and perils, and saw a
variety of marvelous spectacles. They have lost their way,
lacked water, and even been attacked by Prehistoric
creatures and something thrilling. Meanwhile, they also
attained many supernormal discoveries, such as The Central Sea,
Prehistoric human skeleton and so on. After 3- month’s journey,
they finally went back to the surface of the Earth..
The most impressing part ,I think, is the adventurous
spirit of Professor Von Hardwigg, he can face the natural
challenge bravely, and finally defeated it which make me
think of another story .
There are once a person who lived in a small village
town and he had never seen the sea so he was really dying
for it. One day ,he got a chance to get to the shore .when
he saw the sea he found that the sea was shroud in thick
fog and was egring with turbulent waves as well as the cold
and wet weather. He thought “ I don’t like the sea . Fortunately, I am not a sailor。 It is too dangerous to
be a sailor. On the shore , he met a sailor and ask him:
“how could you love that tempestuous ,foggy ,wet and cold sea?”the sailor answered :“actually , sometimes the sea is beautiful, bright and compliant, what’s more , no matter how tempestuous or compliant the sea is , I still deeply love it.” “but ,isn’t it dangerous to be a sailor ?”“when a person loves his own job, he will be never afraid of danger. And everyone in my family also loves the sea .”the sailor said.
“where is your father ? is he still on the sea ?”he asked. “he had died in the sea.” the Sailor said. “where is your grandfather?” “he died in the Atlantic ocean.” “where is your old brother?”“when he was swimming in the Indian ocean , he was eaten by a whale.”“under the circumstances,” the man said, “if I were you ,I would never go into the sea.” The sailor just smiled ,then asked the man : “where did your father die?” “on the bed.”“what about your grandfather?” “on the bed , too.”“under the circumstances, if I were you , I would never go to the bed.”
The sailor in this story exactly likes Professor Von Hardwigg! Both of them are very brave and abundant in adventurous spirit. In our real lives , many people hope that they can live in a warm ,comfortable and safe environment without danger and hardship during their life time .if we live like a snail which always hide in its hodmadod as soon as it meet dangers, how can we experience the beauty of life?
A person’s lifetime should be colorful and wonderful, we should persist on exploring our life and trying our best to fight for our life goals so that we can cultivate ourselves and bravely accept life challenges and finally obtain success.
