It’s my honor to speak here. Today my topic is about religion and translation. Maybe you will wonder why I choose this topic. The religion seems so mysterious. Most of us don’t believe in religion, but it doesn’t mean it’s none of our business.

In history, there are many examples about the big influence of religion in China and other countries. Today I will focus on china, because we live here.

Introduce the outline.

First part:some events make people to communicate with each other like trade, war etc. So we can understand different languages. We have the common basic belief like: kindness is good, cruelis evil. When people spread religions they should make others understand the scriptures. Translation can help foreigner understandreligious books easier. More and more people will know the religious belief through reading the booksdirectly.If don’t want to believe in religion, it is also a tool to know different culture.

Arabian Islam once thought Koran is too good to be translated. It is not only the sacred book of the Muslimsand a Arabian literary masterpiecebut also a miracle.Koran is The first poetry of Arabia literature.Once an Arabian emperor tried to ban the translation of Koran.Muslims think the translation of Koran cannot be called Koran but theinterpretation of Koran.

Third part:other books also have the problem of translation. It’s a barrier to the cultural communication, which requires translator know well about both source language and target language. Besides, some translation skills are also necessary.
