新四级考试综述——把握新变化新四级考试综述——把握新变化决胜新四级——根据教育部高教司 [2005]199 号的通知,“为了使高校教师和学生更充分熟悉和了解新的考试要求和题型,积极稳步推进改革,对原定的试点考试时间等事宜做相应调整,原定于2005 年 12 月进行的大学英语四级试点考试调整至 2006 年 6 月进行。
2006 年 12 月仍按原计划全面实施新题型四级考试,时间不变”。
也就是说 2006 年 6 月的四级考试, 180 所试点院校的部分学生将参加新题型试卷的考查,到了 2006 年 12 月份,不管是试点高校还是非试点高校,四级新题型将全面推广。
同时,新四级样卷四级在 2005 年 10 月份也新鲜出炉,这套由全国大学英语四、六级考试改革项目组和全国大学英语四、六级考试委员会编写的《大学英语四级考试(CET-4)试点考试样卷》已上海外语教育出版社出版发行,并收录了《全国大学英语四、六级考试改革方案(试行)》和最新《大学英语四级考试(CET-4)试点考试样题》,和旧四级试卷对比分析,不难发现其中最主要的两个变化:考试各部分顺序的调整和听力分值的加大,考生要首先适应两个方面的变化,才能在新四级考试中出奇制胜一、考试各部分顺序调整四、六级考试改革项目组和考试委员公布了样卷结构,样卷共分为六个部分,根据考生答题的顺序,依次为:写作测试,快速阅读理解,听力理解,仔细阅读理解,完型填空和翻译。

考试开始后,考生首先在答题卡 1 上完成写作部分。
30 分钟后,监考员发试题册,考生在接着的 15 分钟内完成快速阅读理解部分的试题。
然后,监考员收回答卡 1。
考生在答题卡 2 上完成其余部分试题。
在新四级考试中把写作调整到第一部分,会给考生造成一定的心理压力。
写作考察的是考生的语言输出能力,要求写出的文章结构清晰、内容完整、用词准确、语言连贯、逻辑性强,通过这部分测试,能反应出学生综合运用语言的能力,从历年大学英语四级考试的成绩看,有相当一部分考生作文成绩不理想,全国平均分一直在 6-8 分徘徊,成为学生失分最多的一个项目。
通过对学生作文的分析,发现主要存在以下主要问题: 1.写作词汇匮乏从学生交过来的作文中发现,大部分的写作词汇量都是高中和初中词汇,一个概念只会用一个词来表达,比如“高兴”,就只会想到“happy”,不会用“cheerful”或“in a good mood”;“喜欢”就只会用“like”,不会用“be fond of”或“enjoy”替换。
词汇源匮乏,表达单一,阅卷老师很难找到亮点,自然分数就不会高。
更为严重的是,部分考生好不容易想到一个好的单词来表达,却不会正确拼写,词汇量的不足,成为限制考生写作水平的一个重要因素。
2.中式思维在学生头脑中还没形成良好的英语表达习惯,写作文总是根据汉语的表达习惯来遣词造句,字字对译,在句法结构和语法规律上经常出错。
语法规律和句型是英语写作的基本要素,作文中的语法错误,是扣分比较严重的一项,从初中接触英语就开始学习语法,如果单项测试语法知识或概念,一般很少犯错误,但在考综合能力的作文中,错误就会大幅度的出现,比如“I up to the university18 years old”“women are half side sky”“the man who doesn’t to the 第1页Great Wall is not a really good man”。
写出好的文章,要具备一定的词汇基础,用语法正确的句子来表达思想,更要学会用英美的思维方式组句成段,所以平时还是要加强笔头练习,不断巩固提高,才能取得较好的成绩。
通过分析这几年的四级作文题目,描述类应用文体增多,消除以前议论文为主,考生作文容易模式化的弊端。
但这也不代表以后的四级作文都是描述文体,个人认为,以后的作文会向多样化,避免模板化的发向发展,从上面的分析看,尽管写作要求没变,但这部分的考试难度还是增加了,考生只有积极备考写作,在考试中有个好的开始,积累信心,才能决胜全局。
第二部分考快速阅读,新题型,又是一个挑战。
快速阅读要求在 15 分钟内完成一篇 1200 字左右的文章和后面的 10 道题,前 7 个是判断正误,后 3 个是填空题,答案基本都是原文中出现的原词。
快速阅读的技巧在于对逻辑关系信号词的把握,通过比如因果关系 because, as a result,for, due to, 转折关系 however,but 等信号词,理清文章发展脉络,快速把握文章主旨,略读和查读对后面的题目作出有效的判断和填写。
在平时的训练的时候,泛读一定量的文章,注意通过对逻辑关系、标点符号乃至一些特征语言信息点,快速浏览,把握文章发展主线。
二、听力分值加大第三部分是听力测试,听力的分值比例将由原来的 20%提升到 35%,体现了四级改革的目的之一,把以前以阅读为主的测试,转向以听说为主、兼顾读写的测试体系,避免出现“哑巴英语”,以提高学生的英语交流和沟通能力。
短对话部分由原来的 10 题减至 8 题,共 8 分,样卷中的 8 道题全部摘选于以前的旧题,说明这部分题型的出题思路和以前相比没有太多变化。
考生只要掌握四级短对话中常出现的题型,把握每种题型的做题关键,在听题时看选项,确定题型,轻松应对。
