book report of 《flipped》
It is a story of the relationship between Bryce and Juli. What is interesting is that the book is written about their impressions towards each other. From Bryce's world, Juli is an annoying, know-it-all kid with muddy shoes and a bad habit of not taking 'no' for an answer. Since he had seen Juli for the first time,he didn't like her at all and always wanted to stay away from her. On the contrary, when Juli put her first sight on Bryce, she was absorbed by his glamorous eyes, felt flipped and thought that Bryce had the same feeling. It gets even worse when his mom sees Juli holding his hand by accident and thinks it's all very cute. He spends his first week home watching TV to get away from Juli. The story goes into a small climax when Juil find a amazing world when she climbs up a sycamore tree to see the outside world. Bryce goes to the bus stop every morning and gets on the bus for school. Juli climbs up the sycamore tree every morning and gets on the very same bus. One day, while Juli goes to climb up the tree and when Bryce wakes up, he sees trucks arriving and men getting out with axes and chain-saws. They are coming to cut down the tree because the owner need more space to build a house. She tells Bryce and other kids to come up there with her so maybe there will be a chance they won't cut down the tree, but he denies. When the bus pulls up and the workers ask Juli to get down, she refuses. The bus pulls away, but Juli stays in the tree. She stays there all day until her Dad arrives. After much fuss, she gets down and the workers cut down the tree. During that time, Juli suffers emotional grief until she receives a paint of the sycamore tree from her father. With this incident, Juli starts to change his opinion of Bryce, Then, Juli catches Bryce throwing away the eggs she's been giving him every week for free (from her pet chickens) for the past two years. Bryce then tells Juli that he will not eat the eggs because her backyard, where the chickens live, is dirty. Juli tells Bryce that she could have sold the eggs she gave him. Juli begins cleaning her whole yard front and back as a project. With the help of Chet, Bryce's grandfather, she's able to clean the whole yard and begins to realize that she doesn't know Bryce at all. All these years, she's never even had a real conversation with him. Now she thinks he's not worth it.One Sunday morning, Juli and her father go to visit Uncle David, her father's mentally disabled brother. Juli tells Chet of this, who next tells the Loskis. Bryce's father makes a joke about the Bakers, which angers his mother. Bryce also tells his friend Garrett about David, and when Garrett makes a joke about David, this makes Bryce angry. Rather than arguing, though, he merely lets out a laughter, without realizing that Juli has heard the whole conversation. The Loskis decide to invite Juli and her family over for dinner. Before dinner Julie tells Bryce that she heard what happened in the library. He tells the truth and blames his actions on Garrett. This makes Juli angrier with him. Chet tells the Loski family about why David is mentally disabled: he had his umbilical cord wrapped around his throat twice at birth, and the doctors couldn't fix it fast enough. Bryce learns later that the same thing happened to him, except the doctors at his birth got to it in time. When Bryce is chosen for an event in which a boy's lunch is auctioned off, he is "bought" by Shelly Stalls and Miranda Humes, both pretty and cool girls. Juli "buys" another boy named Jon Turlock, whom she voted as a 'basket boy'. Bryce stands up suddenly and tries to kiss her in a desperate attempt to show her that he's flipped over her. She rejects him in front of the basket boys, their dates, and the entire Booster Club, and soon Bryce becomes a laughingstock. In a desperate situation, he runs home to find Juli and knocks on her door without success. Chet tells him that he will never be the same again. Then, as a last chance to get her to realize that he does care, Bryceplants a sycamore tree in her front yard. Juli starts to realize that Bryce has indeed changed. When he waves to her, she waves back, hinting at a possible new beginning. From my point of view, many people was caught by the feeling of first love, without realizing who people in the eye is. When Juli knows of Bryce completely, she no doubtfully gets upset. Though there is a good ending in the book, life is crueler. We should not judge people just based on our objective feeling in the first place. If we know more of others,we will find out that people perfect in our mind are just a ordinary people and people who we do not want to pay more glance at are also can be amazing. From Bryce,I realize that we should value the things we have before lost it. It is too common that people end up finding out that what is most important to them turns out to be what they have at the beginning. Do not be regret after you have lost something totally. If Bryce had faced his feeling towards Juli properly,Juil would not be hurt. Frankly, it is sure that in this way this book would Be lost to us. It does remind me of treasuring the people who love me around and what I have already possessed. If we can do so, never will we feel regret about our life. What if after a four y ear crush you realized the boy you liked wasn’t what you were really looking for? That maybe he wasn’t worth the feelings you had bestowed upon him. What if this happened at the same time he began to reluctantly change his opinion on you?Juli’s side of th e story shows why you should never judge a person before you really know them. She and her family have good hearts. Particularly Juli. She stands up for what she believes in, like trying to protect a beautiful old sycamore tree from being cut down, and giving the Loski’s free chicken eggs even though she can sell them for a profit to her other neighbors. Each chapter alternates between Bryce and Juli’s perspective, telling the same story through each of their eyes. Bryce views Juli as a nuisance, who finds pleasure in strange things like raising chickens in her backyard. And his whole family looks down on the Bakers for their overgrown front yard. But while they're sitting across the street making snap judgements about their neighbors, their own family begins to fall apart. The basic premise of the book is a dual point of view, you see one story from two sides with crossovers on key events. Despite this repetition the book isn’t boring an each character sees things differently, and have their own revelations."Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, and some in gloss....... But every once in a while you find someone who's iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare."This is the quotation I like most about the book.People are all equipped with masks to modify themselves. What we see from the appearances is often far from the truth. Just like the quotation says, when we look deeply into those persons regardless 0f their satin and gloss, we would find that those people are just totally not you believed to be. For the rest part of the quotation, I think the author want to express that for your life-mate you should just be patient, and when one day you find this person, you would found that no one could compare with he/she.Next is some attractive sentences I borrow from the book:A painting is more than the sum of its parts. A cow by itself is just a cow. A meadow by itself is just grass, flowers. And the sun peeking throng the trees is just a beam of light. But you put them all together and it can be magic.Sometimes a little discomfort in the beginning can save a whole lot of pain down the road. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.。

高二一班夏嘉慧BackgroundThis is a story about thelove at first sight whichhappened between a girland a boy in 1960’sAmerica. The maincharacters are July Bakerand Bryce Losik.《Flipped》is a story of youth. In our youth, love is everywhere. Our parents love us, we also love them. And friendship has love as well. This story tells about the love of youth.AbstractIt’s a story showed from the perspective of two people watching the same issue. A little girl Juli and a little boy Bryce met at their second grade. Juli fell in love with her newly moved neighbor because of his dazzlingeyes. But Bryce wasalways mad at Juliebecause of her boredbroadcast about everymorning’s school bus, herfamily’s yard was alwaysin a mess and her ugly sycamore tree. Then Julie realized that Bryce wasn’t the kind of person who is more than the sum of his parts. However, Bryce gradually began to find the merits of Julie, such as kindness,self-awareness, pureness.Bryce flipped and began tomake Julie change her mind.Bryce wanted to do somethingto cheer Julie up. And hedecided to plant a sycamoretree around her home. Julie was shocked when she saw what Bryce planted is a sycamore tree, she understood everything and finally forgave Bryce. At the end of the story, they fell in love with each.Main characters1.Bryce LoskiBryce Loski is theboy who lives next toJulie. He has beenchasing after by Juliesince they first met.Bryce was very popular in his grade and many girls like him. He is very handsome, but every once when he get along with Julie, he is at a loss. In many situations, he is just a little boy hesitating in his life and keep trying to find a way out while growing. Every Bryce’s behavior reflects the real mental of a 14-year-old boy.2.Julie BakerJulie Baker devoutlybelieves in three things: thesanctity of sycamore, thewholesomeness of the eggsshe collects from herbackyard flock of chickens, and that someday she will kiss Bryce Loski. Ever since she saw Bryce's baby blues back in second grade, Julie has been smitten. Unfortunately, Bryce has never felt the same. Frankly, he thinks Julie Baker is a littleweird--after all, what kind of freak raises chickens and sits in trees for fun? Then, in eighth grade, everything changes. Bryce begins to see that Julie's unusual interests and pride in her family are, well, kind of cool. And Julie starts to think that maybe Bryce's brilliant blue eyes are as empty as the rest of Bryce seems to be. After all, what kind of jerk doesn't care about other people's feelings about chickens and trees?Little Julie has many virtues which impress me. First, she adhered toherself. She loved the sycamore tree in their block. Because she could sit at the braches for hours and amazed by the view. When someone wanted to cut the sycamore tree down, she sat there bravely to protect it. She didn’t care about others’ incomprehension and ridicule.Second, she showed sympathy for the weak. She loved her uncle, although he had a severe handicap. And she bid for the Basket boy number 8 at Mayfield Boosters Club Action because no one bid for the boy. Last but not least, she had a strong feeling of self-respect on her own. She had the ability to rationally judge whether Bryce is worth to love.Plat impressing me most1. A painting is more than the sum of its parts. A cow by itself is just a cow. A meadow by itself is just grass, flowers. And the sun peeking through the trees is just a beam of light. But you put them all together and it can be magic.2. Some days thesunsets would bepurple and pink. And some days theywere a blazingorange setting fireto the clouds on the horizon. It was during one of those sunsets that my father's idea of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts moved from my head to my heart.CommentsThere are two families withtwo children in this book, so wecan also see people withdifferent personalities. Whenyou were young, you may havea lot of things confused. In sucha stage a mentor or a guide is a very important thing.Bryce is lucky, he had agrandfather in life to tell him who heis and he should become a kind andhonest person. Just as the dialoguesays,” Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss. Butevery once in a while you findsomeone who's iridescent, and whenyou do, nothing will ever compare.”Julie is also very lucky. She had afamily to give her the right values. At the end of the book, with the beautiful sycamore tree planting in front of Bryce and Julie, the two hands overlapped together.。

Flipped
The Book Report on FlippedThe author of the book Flipped is Wendelin Van Draanenan, she is an American writer of children's and young-adult fiction, especially detective, mystery, and spy stories. Van Draanen was born in Chicago, Illinois, was the daughter of two chemists whoimmigrated from the Netherlands. Books had always been a part of Wendelin Van Draanen's life since her early age. There were also fond memories of story time with her father, when she and her brothers would cuddle up around him and listen to him read. Growing up, She did not decide that she wanted to be an author, what she liked was being outside to chase down adventure. Before she became a full-time writer, she was a high school math teacher and computer science teacher. Her first book was published in 1997, and since then her titles had been nominated for State Award Master Lists all over the country. Feedback from her readers was Van Draanen's greatest reward for writing, which also became the motivation to inspire her to produce more better works. Later, she won the California Young Reader Medal for Flipped, which was also produced as movie. The nov el Flipped isin a he-said she-said style, with the two protagonists alternately presenting their perspective on a shared set of events. The book is about an aesthetic and touching love story which happened in a small town. The two protagonists Bryce and Juliana were neighbors.Julie fell in love with Bryce at first sight because of his eyes, like she described:“Honestly, one look at him and I became a lunatic. It’s his eyes. Something in his eyes. They’re blue, and framed in the blackness of his lashes, they’re dazzling. Absolutely breathtaking.”But on the contrary, Bryce took her as nothing but a nuisance, who followed him everywhere and chased him around at recess trying to lay kisses on him. And he thought it was her who made him the laughingstock of the school. But Julie still regarded him as her good friend. She tried to invite Bryce to come up to her beloved sycamore tree to enjoy the magnificent scenery together; she brought eggs over to Bryce in the morning for a long time. But Bryce was indifferent to all of these. He had no liking toward the sycamore tree; he thought scrambling up the tree and getting it down was so embarrassing that he was reluctant to try; he even threw the eggs away in the trash canstealthilyevery morning just because his father said the eggs were unhealthy and might have salmonella and he didn’t want to bother himself to talk to Julie. All of this disappointed Julie and she began to doubt why she fell in love with him. She came to recall her father’s words:“A painting is more than the sum of its parts. A cow by itself is just a cow. A meadow by its elf is just grass, flowers. And the sun peeking through the trees is just a beam of light. But you put them all together and it can be magic. Just like upright people in the world.” And she realized that Bryce wasn’t the kind of person who was more than the sum of his parts. Inside he was just a coward and a sneak. On the other hand, after so many things happened, Bryce found his feelings toward Juliewere also changing gradually. He realized that there were actually many merits of the girl, such as kindness,self-awareness,pureness. He began to pay attention to Julie’s everyparticulargestureandbehaviorunconsciously and wanted to strike up a conversation with her once he got the chance. He even wanted to kiss Julie in front of all the students and adults. At the end of the story, Bryce made every endeavor to talk to Julie and tried to make an apologize, the final scene of the novel was that he planted a sycamore tree in Julie’s yard and look out his window and put his hand up and waved. And Julie finally got released and gave a little wave back.I still remember the ending of the story which impresses me a lot:“So maybe I should go over there and thank him for the tree.Maybe we could sit on the porch and talk. It just occurred to me that in all the years we’ve known each other, we’ve never done that. Never really talked. Maybemy mother’s right. There is more to Bryce than I know. Maybe it’s time to meet him in the proper light ”.The reason why I choose the book Flipped is that the writer related us a love story between a little boy and a little girl. Although their love was young and sentimental, the feelings were real and true. And she described the innocent love between them in a meticulous way, which does impress me deeply. Their exposed sincere and innocence really reminds me of those elapsed days when everyone and everything in our eyes was so simple and uncomplicated. When I read through the book, the feelings of unprecedented serenity and joviality would entirely surround me.As far as I am concerned, I think Julie is a girl possessed of many valuable qualities. First, she adhered to herself, treating what she loved with enthusiasm. She loved the sycamore tree in her block sincerely so that she would sit there for a whole day not caring about others' incomprehension and ridicule to protect it when it was about to be cut; she loved her yard and chickens whole-heartedly so that she went to great length to take care of them. She was also very kind, not being stingy showing her sympathy for the weak. She loved her uncle although he was a retard who was always regarded as a laughingstock by others; she would bid for the basketboy Jeffrey at Mayfield Boosters Club Action because no one bid for him. It is such a girl that reminds me of the beauty and purity of human nature, which makes me obsessed with the book.On the other side, two families with two children in this novel, we can also see people with strikingly different personalities. When you are young, you may have a lot of things confused. In such a stage a mentor or a guide is a very important role. For Bryce, although his father was erudite and smart in appearance, inside he was rotten and stale. But luckily, he had a grandfather in life to tell him who he is and he should become a kind and honest person. I still remember a sentence his grandfather said which told him to be true to his heart, "Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss. But every once in a while you find someone who's iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare". Julie was also very lucky. She had a family to give her the right values. Although her family was not in a well-off state, her parents were sensible and would enlighten her when she was confused or depressed, which made her be a girl who was bright and with character. After reading this novel, what impresses me most is the girl's view toward the whole world. In her eyes, everything was nice and beautiful. She liked the view and the sounds and the colors and the wind when she was up so high on the sycamore tree. And she was adept in seeing people in a good way. Bryce showed indifference to her in such an obvious way, but she considered that he was just too shy. In our life, we should never abandon our initial kindness. Instead of building a wall to seclude us from others, we should be generous to show our sympathy to the weak, to the nature, and to the whole world.。

Flipped《怦然心动》读后感
FlippedFlipped (2001) is a young adult novel by Wendelin Van Draanen set from c.1994 to 2000. It is a stand-alone teen romance in a he-said she-said style with the two protagonists alternately presenting their perspective on a shared set of events.Have read the book called Flipped, I am deeply moved by the story happened between Juli and Bryce, two small children pure and know little about what is love. Very interested, watched a movie tonight. Seen from the micro-Bo 12 constellations should look at love movies, chose that part Taurus "She Bangs", I feel pretty good. The last was very moved to see "If you choose, no matter how must go."This is a look at the title to know the love of film, tells the story of Julie and Bryce childhood growing development of the story. Bryce moved since the beginning of Julie, but at first sight for him fascinated. Despite a very early age, but then Julie Bryce pursued. And finds her first kiss should be Blythe. But Bryce has not been how bother her Because his family was not very good, Julie’s father of ridicule by Bryce and Bryce thus echoing, he hopes to get rid of Julie's stalker. Julie Bryce well, but that does not appreciate Bryce and sent to Julie threw eggs. Finally, also hurt Julie. Julie began to doubt his own wishful thinking. I feel very sad. Especially when the point of view of Bryce agrees Gary mentally handicapped uncle insult Julie, Julie began to no longer remain in the hearts of the location to Bryce, but began to feel not care when feeling down when not so bad. When Bryce finally realized that he had for Julie tempted, he found his mistake. To make up for his mistake, he is crazy. Finally found a way to compensate. He Julie's yard on a Kewutongshu. Because in the Indus tree, Julie saw a very beautiful view. The last two people naturally go together. My deepest feelings are that scene: Julie dialogue with her daddy at the time of painting. Which part of the whole and relatively large. Sometimes in some people's eyes, than the overall important part and will far outweigh a whole. As long as there are his eyes, then everything else does not care. Another screen is Julie in the treetops while watching the scenery, when a person continues to climb, when you will find more beautiful scenery. Sometimes stay in place for too long, they think the original is the best. In fact, people still continue to climb to the status quo. This question depends only on ourselves. Perhaps the beautiful scenery at a higher place, sometimes just do not forget to think about continuing to climb.。
flipped小说英文读后感
flipped小说英文读后感Introduction:Flipped, written by Wendelin Van Draanen, is a heartwarming and poignant novel that narrates the story of Bryce and Juli, two individuals who have contrasting perspectives towards love and relationships. Set in the 1950s, this coming-of-age story explores themes of friendship, family, and first love. Flipped is filled with humorous incidents, emotional observations, and lessons about the complexities of human relationships and the importance of empathy. This novel has left a lasting impression on me, and I would like to share my thoughts and reflections on the story of Bryce and Juli.Main Body:Flipped is an engaging novel that captivated me from the very first page. The story is beautifully told through alternating perspectives of Bryce and Juli, giving readers an opportunity to understand their individual thoughts and emotions. This narrative technique allows us to witness the growth and transformation of both characters throughout the novel. One of the aspects that stands out in Flipped is the portrayal of family dynamics. Both Bryce and Juli come from different family backgrounds, each with their own set of problems and quirks. Bryce's family is depicted as picture-perfect on the surface, but as the story progresses, we learn that appearances can be deceiving. Juli's family, on the other hand, is a warm and eccentric bunch who prioritize love and support over material wealth. Through these contrasting families, the author emphasizes the importance of genuine connections and the significance of family in one's life. The main focus of the novel, however, is the complex relationship between Bryce and Juli. Juli is instantly attracted to Bryce, while he, on the other hand, finds her to be an annoyance. The novel masterfully explores the concept of first love and how perceptions can change over time. As the story unfolds, we witness Bryce's gradual shift from annoyance to admiration for Juli. Through their interactions and experiences, Bryce learns to see beyond Juli's unconventional behavior and appreciates her kind heart and unwavering spirit. One of the most significant messages conveyed in Flipped is the importance of empathy. Throughout the novel, both Bryce and Juli struggle with understanding one another's perspectives. However, as they spend more time together and experience life-altering events, they begin to realize the significance of empathy in building meaningful relationships. This realization is beautifully portrayed when Bryce finally understands Juli's love for trees and appreciates her unique way of viewing the world. Moreover, Flipped includes several humorous incidents that provide comic relief amidst the deeper themes of the novel. Bryce's quirky best friend, Garrett, often adds a touch of levity to serious situations. These moments of humor lighten the overall tone of the novel and provide a refreshing break from the emotional intensity of the characters' experiences. Conclusion:Flipped is a remarkable novel that skillfully portrays the complexities of human relationships and the transformative power of empathy. Wendelin Van Draanen's writing style effortlessly immerses readers into Bryce and Juli's world, allowing us to experience their journey of self-discovery and personal growth. This novel has taught me valuable lessons about the importance of understanding and appreciating others, the significance of family connections, and the beauty of first love.In conclusion, Flipped is a must-read for anyone who enjoys emotionally charged coming-of-age stories filled with humor, warmth, and unforgettable characters. This novel has moved me deeply and left a lasting impression on my heart.。

英文小说flipped(怦然心动)原文1All I've ever wanted is for Juli Baker to leave me alone. For her to back off —you know, just give me some spac e.It all started the summer before second grade when our movi ng van pulled into her neighborhood. And since we're now ab out done with the eighth grade, that, my friend, makes more than half a decade of strategic avoidance and social disco mfort. She didn't just barge into my life. She barged and shoved and wedged her way into my life.Did we invite her to get into our moving van and start cl imbing all over boxes? No! But that's exactly what she did, taking over and showing off like only Juli Baker can.My dad tried to stop her. “Hey!”he says as she's catapu lting herself on board. “What are you doing? You're getting mud eve rywhere!”So true, too. Her shoes were, like, cake d with the stuff. She didn't hop out, though. Instead, she planted her rear e nd on the floor and started pushing a big box with her fe et. “Don't you want some help?”She glanced my way. “It s ure looks like you need it.”I didn't like the implication. And even though my dad had been tossing me the same sort of look all week, I could t ell —he didn't like this girl either. “Hey!Don't do th at,”he warned her. “There are some really valuable things in that box.”“Oh.Well, how about this one?”She scoots over to a box labeled LENOX and looks my way again. “We should push it together!”“No,no, no!”my dad says, then pulls her up by the arm . “Why don't you run along home? Your mother's probably wo ndering where you are.”This was the beginning of my soon-to-become-acute awareness t hat the girl cannot take a hint. Of any kind. Does she zip on home like a kid should when they've been invited to leave? No. She says, “Oh,my mom knows where I am. She s aid it was fi ne.”Then she points across the street and says, “We just live right over there.”My father looks to where she's pointin g and mutters, “Oh boy.”Then he looks at me and winks as he says, “Bryce, isn't it time for you to go inside a nd help your mother?”I knew right off that this was a ditch play. And I didn't think about it until later, but ditch wasn't a play I'd run with my dad before. Face it, pulling a ditch is not s omething discussed with dads. It's like, against parental law to tell your kid it's okay to ditch someone, no matter h ow annoying or muddy they might be.But there he was, putting the play in motion, and man, he didn't have to wink twice. I smiled and said, “Sure thin g!”then jumped off the lift gate and headed for my new front door.I heard her coming after me but I couldn't believe it. May be it just sounded like she was chasing me; maybe she was really going the other way. But before I got up the nerv e to look, she blasted right past me, grabbing my arm and yanking me along. This was too much. I planted myself and was about to tell her to get lost when the weirdest thing happened. I was making this big windmill motion to break away from her, but somehow on the downswing my hand wound up tangling into h ers. I couldn't believe it.There I was, holding the mud monkey's hand! 怦然心动英文阅读感受作文
怦然心动英文阅读感受作文When I first read "Flipped" in English, I was completely hooked. The story was beautifully written, and the characters were so relatable that I found myselfrooting for them from the very beginning. 。
The way the author alternated between the perspectives of Juli and Bryce was particularly effective. It allowed me to see the same events from two different angles, which deepened my understanding of the characters and their motivations. 。
One of my favorite things about the book was the way it captured the innocence and awkwardness of first love. Juli and Bryce's interactions were so genuine and sweet, and I couldn't help but smile at the way they stumbled over their words and blushed when they were around each other. 。
At the same time, the book also dealt with more serious themes, such as family dynamics and social class. Iappreciated the way the author didn't shy away from these topics, but instead explored them in a thoughtful and nuanced way. 。
怦然心动读后感英语
怦然心动英语读后感1Flipped is a remarkable book that has deeply touched my heart. The story beautifully unfolds the journey of young love and growth. The scene of the first encounter between the male and female protagonists is truly captivating. The author's vivid description makes it seem as if we are right there, witnessing the innocent and bashful glances exchanged between them. It's like a tender seed of love being planted, slowly but surely taking root and sprouting. This scene not only shows the beginning of a possible romance but also evokes the memories of our own youthful innocence and the excitement of new encounters. One particular plot that struck me was when the characters faced challenges in their friendships. It made me reflect on my own experiences and understand that true friendship often requires patience, understanding, and the courage to be honest. The struggles they went through and the eventual resolutions taught me valuable lessons about loyalty and the importance of communication in maintaining relationships. The book is a masterpiece that combines sweet romance with profound insights into human connections. It reminds me that growth is not always smooth, but it is these ups and downs that shape us into better individuals. Flipped is not just a story; it is a mirror that reflects our ownemotions and experiences, making us feel understood and connected.2The book "Flipped" has left an indelible mark on my heart. It beautifully portrays the purity and intensity of youthful emotions. The protagonist's courage and perseverance in the face of difficulties deeply inspired me. For instance, when faced with misunderstandings and challenges in their relationship, they chose not to give up but to bravely confront and solve the problems. This kind of determination made me understand that true love requires courage and effort. The warmth of the family depicted in the book also gave the protagonist tremendous strength and support. It made me think of my own family. Whenever I encounter setbacks, my parents' love and encouragement are like a lighthouse guiding me through the darkness. Just like the protagonist's family, my family is always there, providing me with a safe haven and the motivation to move forward. The story of "Flipped" makes me long for such beautiful emotions. It convinces me that in this complex world, there is still a kind of pure and touching love waiting for us to discover and cherish. It also makes me appreciate the importance of family and the power it brings. This book is not just a story, but a guide that leads us to believe in the beauty of love and the warmth of family. The book "Flipped" has left a profound impression on me. It beautifully portrays the innocence and complexity of adolescence. The story unfolds through the perspectives of Juli and Bryce, and their evolving relationship showcases the growth and changes in their characters.Juli's determination and purity of heart are truly inspiring. She holds onto her beliefs and passions unwaveringly. Bryce, on the other hand, starts off as rather shallow but gradually undergoes a transformation, realizing the value of authenticity and integrity. This character development emphasizes the significance of personal growth and self-awareness.The depiction of school life in the book also strikes a chord. It brings back memories of my own youthful days, filled with hopes, dreams, and insecurities. The friendships, rivalries, and first crushes all resonate with the experiences we have gone through during that stage of life.In conclusion, "Flipped" is not just a story of love but a profound exploration of human nature and the journey of life. It teaches us to cherish the simple yet precious moments, to have the courage to follow our hearts, and to keep growing and evolving. This book is a gem that reminds us of the beauty and challenges of adolescence and the importance of staying true to ourselves.Flipped is a remarkable book that has left a deep impression on me. It beautifully portrays the complex journey of love and self-awareness.The protagonist's pursuit of love is not a straightforward path but a process filled with self-reflection and growth. For instance, as she strives to win the heart of the one she loves, she begins to understand her own strengths and weaknesses. She realizes that love is not just about giving but also about being true to oneself. This realization leads her to make positive changes in her personality and behavior. The book also presents various concepts of love, which have been highly enlightening. Some characters view love as a sacrifice, while others see it as a source of personal growth. Through these diverse perspectives,I have come to understand that love is not a one-size-fits-all concept. It isa multi-faceted emotion that can shape us in different ways depending on our perception and approach. In conclusion, Flipped has not only entertained me with its touching story but also made me think deeply about the relationship between love and self-awareness. It has taught me that true love often involves a journey of self-discovery and improvement, and that having a clear understanding of oneself is crucial in experiencing a meaningful and fulfilling love.Flipped is a remarkable novel that has left a profound impression on me. The story delicately portrays the complex emotions and experiences of adolescence, as well as the subtle influence of social class differences on interpersonal relationships. The narrative technique employed in this book is truly captivating. The author skillfully alternates between the perspectives of the two main characters, allowing readers to gain a comprehensive understanding of their thoughts and feelings. This approach not only adds depth to the story but also enables us to empathize with the characters on a more profound level. The social class disparity depicted in the book has a significant impact on the characters' relationships. The differences in family background and economic status create obstacles and tensions that the characters must navigate. For instance, the protagonist's family's financial struggles contrast sharply with the affluent circumstances of some of their neighbors, leading to misunderstandings and conflicts. This novel also holds considerable artistic value. The vivid descriptions of the characters' inner worlds and the detailed portrayal of the surrounding environment make the story come alive. It makes us reflect on the importance of genuine connection and understanding in a society often divided by class and status. In conclusion, Flipped is not just a story of young love; it is a profound exploration of human relationships and social issues. It has taught me to look beyond the surface and appreciate the complexity of the world around us.。

Book report
In the second half of 2015,I'm lucky to read a book named flipped, which depicted the peaceful life in that small town. And it also gives us a fascinating insight into the romantic love experience of Juli and Bryce. In the whole novel, girl's romance and kindness and boy's change and growth have been expressed incisively, which touches my heart deeply. So,after reading this book,I just have many things to share with you.
At first,I'm going to analyse the plot of the novel.
It is in a sunny morning that the story began with young Juli's first sight of Bryce, which immediately made Juli flipped. After that,Juli loved to approach Bryce through various means to show her pure love which, however, was hated by Bryce. At that time, littleJuli was pure and had no judgement of other people
until she experienced some things like the sycamore tree, the father of Bryce, cleaning the yard with Bryce 's grandpa, visiting her disabled uncle and so on. Many different things happened around her and various people showed up around her, which made her grow and recognize whether others are "better than the sum of their parts".
And this story also began with Bryce's sight of Juli, which left him a bad expression that almost influenced him for 10 years. In this novel we can find that he has done many stupid things such as beginning a relationship with another girl only to keep distance with Juli, putting up with his father's
prejudice, throwingJuli's eggs and so on. In the 1 to 9 chapters he was abhorrent enough but when he experienced those things together with Juli he grew to change and understand
what is the most precious of a person.
Then I want to discuss the theme of this novel with you.
If you read this novel for only one time, you will think it is merely a love story of two young kids. However, after reading it and thinking it deeply,it can be evident that love is absolutely not the only theme of flipped. In my opinion, the main theme
of flipped is the growth of child especially in the aspect of mind, which is also where the value of this novel lies.
As we can see, growth lies everywhere. Little Juli was learned to find whether someone is "better than the sum of parts"and who is better to get along with. She never stopped seeking for beauty from her climbing up the sycamore tree for the first time to her learning that the most beautiful parts lie in the bottom of one's heart. Little Juli did grow up to a beautiful girl not only because of her flesh but also owing to her spirit to seek for real beauty.
Bryce has grown up too. Bryce, the cowardly boy,was stifled by his family and was not dare to make his own choices. But he is lucky to meet Juli whose deeds influenced him and helped him learn to listen to the voice of his own heart. He learned to be brave to seek for his happiness regardless of others' opinion and to be romantic and appreciate the beauty.
So we can draw a safe conclusion that this is a story about growth. And I have to say other elements of this novel are fascinating too. The pure love in childhood can remind us of our sweet memories. The description of the peaceful town and its
close relationship softens our hearts which had been hurt by the cold of steel cities. The lovely grandpa,Juli's disabled uncle, the harmonious family atmosphere and that stanch and tall sycamore tree did touched the softest parts of my hearts.
At last,I want quote the words of Juli 's father" Some days the sunsets would be purple and pink. And some days they were a blazing orange setting fire to the clouds on the horizon. It was during one of those sunsets that my father's idea of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts moved from my head to my heart". Closing the book,I seem to have glanced that a little but strong tree stands in the sunset growing firmly and quietly.。
