类别意义例词专有名词表示人、地方、组织结构或事物等专有的名称Paris, Britain, the Great Wall, JohnPresentation普通名词可数名词个体名词 表示个别人和事物的名称 apple, lawyer, dictionary 集体名词 表示若干人和事物的总称 class, family, people, police, team不可数名词物质名词表示物质或材料的名称bread, rice, water, milk, furniture抽象名词表示性质、行为、状态和情感等抽象概念的名称happiness, weather1. 名词复数形式的构成 ① 一般名词后面加 smonth-months, bird-birds② 以 s, x, ch, sh 结尾的名词,后面加 es class-classes, box-boxes, match-matches ③ 以o 结尾的名词,有的加 es (有生命的)有的加 s (无生命的)hero-heroes, tomato-tomatoes, potato-potatoes radio-radios, zoo-zoos, bamboo-bamboos,piano-pianos,photo-photos ④ 以辅音字母加y 结尾的名词,变 y 为 i 再加 es city-cities,country-countries,party-parties, factory-factories⑤ 以 f 或 fe 结尾的名词,变 f 或 fe 为 v 再加 esknife-knives, wolf-wolves, scarf-scarves 例外:roof-roofs, chief-chiefs单复数同形 sheep, fish, deer, Chinese, Japanese 变内部元音man-men, tooth-teeth, foot –feet, goose-geese其他形式child-children ,chick-chicken, mouse-mice, man 与 woman 作定语修饰的名词改为复数时,两者都要改为复数 two women doctors, ten men drivers注意(1) 只有复数,没有单数形式。
