If you do, you must be an optimist(乐观主义者). a leader. an acive person who enjoys life. people and excitement. Do you prefer greys and blues? Then you are probably quict. shy. and you would rather follow than lead You tend to be a pessimist (悲观主义者) . At least. this is what psychologists tell us. and they should know. because they have been seriously studying the meaning of colours preference, as well as the effect that colours have on human beings. They tell us. among other facts. that we do not choose our favourite clour as we growup-we are born with our preference. If you happen to love brown, you did so as soon as you opened your eyes, or at least as soon as you could see clearly.Colours do influence our moods------there is no doubt about it. A yellow room makes mostpeople feel more cheerful and more relaxed than a dark green one; and a red dress brings warmth and cheer to the saddest winter day. On the other hand, black is depressing. A black bridge over the Thames River. Near London. used to be the scene of more suicides (自杀) than any other bridge in the area-until it was repainted green. The number of suicide attempts immediately fell down sharply; perhaps it would have fallen even more if the bridge had been done in pink or baby blue.Light and bright colours make people not only happier but more active. The main idea of the passage is that_ .A. colours affect people's moodB. colours affect people's characterC. bright colours make people more activeD. colours preference shows people's couragePassage 2Charlotte Hollins knows she faces a battle. The 23-year-old British farmer and her 21-year-old brother Ben are fighting to save the farm from the city developers that their father worked on since he was 14. While she is confident they will succeed. she lists farming's many challenges: "You don't often get a day off. Supermarkets put a lot of pressure on farmers to keep prices down. With fewer people working on farms it can be isolating." she said. "There is a high rate of suicide and farming will never make you rich!"Oliver Robinson. 25, grew up on a farm in Yorkshire. But he never considered staying on his father and grandfather's land. "I'm sure Dan hoped I'd stay," he said. "I guess it's a nice, straightforward life, but it doesn't appeal. For young ambitious people, farm life would be a hard world." For Robinson. farming doesn't offer much in terms of money or lifestyle. Hollins agrees that economics stops people from pursuing farming rewards: "providing for a vital human need . while working outdoors with nature."Farming is a big political issue in the UK. "Buy British" campaigns encourage consumers not a buy cheaper imported foods. The 2001 "foot and mouth crisis" closed thousands of farms, stopped meat exports, and raised public consciousness of troubles in British farming. JamieOliver's 2005 campaign to get children to eat healthily also highlighted the issue. This national concern brings hope for farmers competing with powerful supermarkets. While most people buy food from the big supermarkets. hundreds of independent Farmers' Markets are becoming popular.41 . Charlotte Hollins is talking about her feeling of a battle between "A. the poor and the richB. farmers and city developersC. young people and their parentsD. small markets and supermarkets42. "Buy British" campaigns____A. bring benefit to farmersB. stopped meat exportC. closed thousands of farmsD. ask children to eat British foods45. According to the passage, Farmers ' Markets are becoming popular because .A. thousands of farms are closedB. farmers are the owners of the marketsC. more people are concerned about healthy foodD. Jamie Oliver's 2005 campaigns urge people to "Buy BritisW'Passage 3No one knows exactly how many disabled people (残疾人) there arc in the word. but estimates suggest the figure is over 450 million. The number of disabled people in India alone is probably more than double the total population of Canada. In the United Kingdom. about one in ten people have some disability. Disability is not just something hat happens to other people: as we get older. many of us will become less mobile. hard of hearing or have failing eyesight.Disablement can take many forms and occur at any time of life. Some people are born with disabilities. Many others become disabled as they get older. There are many progressive disabling diseases. The longer time goes on. the worse they become. Some people are disabled in accidents. Many others may have a period of disability in the form of a mental illness. All are affected by people's attitude towards them.Disabled people face many physical barriers. Next time you go shopping or to work or visit friends, imagine how you would manage if you could not get up steps, or on to buses and trains. How would you cope if you could not see where you were going or could not hear the traffic? But there are other barriers: prejudice can be even harder to break down and ignorance inevitably represents by far the greatest barrier of all. It is almost impossible for the able-bodied to fully appreciate what the severely disabled go through. so it is important to draw attention to these barriers and show that it is the individual person and their ability. not their disability, which counts.46. The first paragraph tells us that .A. the number of disabled people in India is the greatestB. there are less than 450 million disabled people in the worldC. there are more than 450 million disabled people in the worldD. the number of disabled people in India is equal to the total population of Canada47. The key word in paragraph 4 is _A. disabilityB. ignoranceC. prejudiceD. barriers48. Which of the following statements is NOT true?A. There are about 10 percent disabled people in the UK_B. There still exists prejudice against the disabled because of ignorance.C. Even the able-bodied might lose some of their body functions when they get older.D. The whole society should pay attention to the barriers faced by the disabled people.49. The clause "which counts " in the last paragraph means that _ .A. ability is the most importantB. disability is consideredC. disability is includedD. barrier is the most important50. It can be concluded from the passage that _A. we should try our best to prevent disablementB. we should take a proper attitude towards the disabledC. both physical and mental barriers are hard to break downD. the able-bodied will never fully understand the disabledPassage 4It is really a surprise that after hundreds of years, educationists have still failed to design anything more efficient and reliable than examinations. It is claimed that examinations test what you know, but it is common knowledge that they more often do the exact opposite. They may be a good means of testing memory, or the skills of working rapidly under extreme pressure, but they can tell you nothing about a person's true ability. As anxiety-makers. examinations are second to none. That is because so much depends on them. They are the mark of success or failure in our society. Your whole future may be decided in one fateful day. No one can show his best in worry, or after a sleepless night, yet this is precisely what the examination system expects him to do.A good education should, among other things, train you to think for yourself. The examination system however, does anything but that. What has to be learnt is laid down by a syllabus (教学大纲) . so the student is encouraged to memorize. Examinations do not motivate a student to read widely, and they do not enable him to seek more and more knowledge. Furthermore. teachers themselves are often judged by the results of their students' examinations. Consequently, they have to train their students to master exam techniques which they dislike. They most successful candidates are not always the best educated but the best trained..The results on which so much depends are often nothing more than a subjective assessment by some anonymous (匿名的) examiners. They certainly make mistakes. because they have to mark mountains of scripts (答卷) in a limited amount of time. They work under the same sort of pressure as the candidates.51. The main idea of this passage is that examinations are .A. anxiety-makersB. harmful to educationC. reliable and efficientD. good measures of memory52. It is clear that the author examinations.A. argues forB. argues againstC. is interested inD. is indifferent to53. The fate of students is decided by _ according to the passage.A. examinationB. educationC. teachingD. learning54. According to the author, the most importance of a good education is to .A. encourage students to read widelyB..teach students how to tackle examsC. train students to think on their ownD. encourage students to seek more knowledge55. Which statement is NOT mentioned in the passage?A. Examinations can make students anxious.B. The examiners might make mistakes in marking.C. Teachers ' work is .judged based on the results of examinations.D. Tools better than examinations to test students' ability have been found.Part III Cloze (10%)When I come across a good article in reading newspapers. I often want to cut and keep it. But just as I am about to do so I find the 56 0n the opposite side is as much interesting. It may be a discussion of the way to 57 in good health. or a report about 58 to behave and conduct oneself in society. If I cut the front article, the opposite one is likely t0 59 damage, leaving out half of it or keeping the text 60 the title. Therefore. I should prepare 61 I start to cut. Or it will be halfway done when I find out the 62 result.63 two things are to be done at the same time. You can only take up one of them, the other has to wait or be 64 _ But you know the future is unpredictable----the changed situation may not allow you to do what is left 65 . Thus you are caught in a 66 position and feel sad. How should the nice chances and brilliant ideas gather around all at once? What are you going to do when you 67 two things at the same time? Cigarette smoke in her house? How?How?Had someone got in?She checked the back door and the windows. All were locked or fastened,as usual. There was no sign of forced entry.Over a cup of tea she wondered whether someone had a key that fitted her front door―a master key perhaps. So she stayed at home the following Thursday. Nothing happened. Was anyone watching her movements? On the Thursday after that she went out at her usual time, dres sed as usual, but she didn’t go to the club. Instead she took a short cut home again, letting herself in through her garden and the back door. She settled down to wait.It was just after four o’clock when the front door bell rang.Mrs.Clarke was making a cup of tea at the time. The bell rang again, and then she heard her letter-box being pushed open. With the kettle of boiling water in her hand, she moved quietly toward the front door.A long piece of wire appeared through the letter box,and then a hand. The wire turned and caught around the knob on the door-lock.Mrs.Clarke raised the kettle and poured the water over the hand. There was a shout outside, and the skin seemed to drop off the fingers like a glove. The wire fell to thefloor, the hand was pulled back, and Mrs.Clarke heard the sound of running feet.31.On Thursday,Mrs Clarke usually_____.A.went on an outingB.visited a clubC.worked at a clubD.went to see a friend32.No one made a forced entry,because_____.A.she smelt cigarette smokeB.she found nobody in the houseC.she came into the house as usual and locked the door广东专插本英语D.she found the door and windows remained the same33.On the second Thursday, nothing happened and Mrs.Clarke was wondering_____.A.whether her guess was wrongB.whether someone had a master keyC.whether her movements were being watchedD.whether someone took a short cut to the house34.The wire fell to the floor_____.A.because it was too hot to holdB.when t he man’s glove dropped offC.because the man just wanted to run awayD.when the man’s hand was badly hurt by hot water35.It can be inferred from the passage that Mrs.Clarke was_____.A.calm and cleverB.brave and luckyC.anxious and worriedD.scared and frightenedPassage2We find that bright children are rarely held back by mixed-ability teaching. On the contrary, both their knowledge and experience are enriched. We feel that there are many disadvantages in dividing pupils into different groups. It does not take into account the fact that children develop at different rates. It can have a bad effect on both the bright and the not-so-bright child. After all,it can be quite discouraging to be at the bottom of the top grade!Besides,it is rather unusual to grade pupils just according to their intellectual ability. This is only one aspect of their total personality. We are concerned to develop the abilities of all ourpupils to the full, not just their academic ability. We also value personal qualities and social skills, and we find that mixed-ability teaching contributes to all these aspects of learning. In our classrooms,we work in various ways. The pupils often work in groups:this gives them the opportunity to learn to co-operate,to share, and to develop leadership skills. They also learn how to cope with personal problems as well as how to think,to make decisions,to analyze and evaluate, and to communicate effectively. The pupils learn from each other as well as from the teacher.Sometimes the pupils work in pairs;sometimes they work on individual tasks and assignments, and they can do this at their own speed. They also have some formal class teaching when this is appropriate. We encourage our pupils to use the library, and we teach them the skills they need in order to do this effectively. An advanced pupil can do advanced work.It doesn’t matter how old the child is.We expect our pupils to do their best, not their least, and we give them every encouragement to attain this goal.36.The phrase held back in Line1means being_____.A.forced to study hardB.stopped from making progressC.unwilling to study hardD.pushed to make great progress37.The writer’s attitude towards mixed-ability teaching is_____.A.approvingB.negative广东专插本英语C.criticalD.indifferent38.According to the writer, the main concern of a teacher should be the development of the students’_____.A.social skillsB.total personalityC.personal qualitiesD.intellectual ability39.Which of the following is NOT __ED in the third paragraphA.Pupils can learn how to be capable organizers.B.Pupils can learn how to work together with others.C.Pupils can learn how to be participate in teaching activities.D.Pupils can learn how to develop their reasoning abilities.40.This passage aims to_____.A.offer advice on the effective use of the libraryB.emphasize the importance of teaching the skillsC.discuss pair work and group work for classroom activitiesD.argue for teaching bright and not-so-bright pupils in the same classPassage3In the1960s,medical researchers Thomas Holmes and Richard Rahe developed a checklist of stressful events. They appreciated the tricky point that any major change can be stressful.Negative events like serious illness of a family member were high on the list, but so were some positive life-changing events, like marriage. When you take the Holmes-Rahe test you must remember that the score does not reflect how you deal with stress―it only shows how much you have to deal with. And we now know that the way you handle these events dramatically affects your chances of staying healthy.By the early1970s,hundreds of similar studies had followed Holmes and Rahe. And millions of Americans who work and live under stress worried over the reports. Somehow, the research was described briefly in a memorable message.Women’s magazines ran headlines like Stress causes illness! If you want to stayphysically and mentally healthy, the articles said, avoid stressful events. But such simple advice is impossible to follow.Even if stressful events are dangerous, many―like the death of a loved one―are impossible to avoid. Moreover, any warning to avoid all stressful events is a prescription()for staying away from opportunities as well as trouble.Since any change can be stressful,a person who wanted to be completely free of stress would never marry, have a child, take a new job or move. The notion that all stress makes you sick also ignores a lot of what we know about people. It assumes we’re all weak and passive in the face of difficulties. But what about human initiative and creativity? Many people come through periods of stress with more physical and mental energy than they had before. We also know that a long time without change or challenge can lead to boredom, and physical and mental strain.41.Holmes-Rahe made a medical research on_____.A.what to do to avoid stress广东专插本英语B.what to do to cope with stressC.what kind of events can cause stressD.what kind of stress can cause changes42.The score of the Holmes-Rahe test shows_____.A.how much you have to deal with stressB.how positive events can change your lifeC.how negative events can change your lifeD.how you can deal with life-changing events43.The studies on stress in the early1970s made people_____.A.feel more stressful in working and livingB.believe that it’s impossible to avoid stressC.worry about their mental and physical healthD.believe that it’s possible to avoid stressful events44.If a person wanted to avoid stress completely,he would have to_____.A.avoid any changesB.make some changesC.be free of dangerous thingsD.stay away from the opportunities45.Which of the following best describes the writer’s tone in the passageA.Critical.B.Objective.C.Subjective.D.Prejudiced.Passage4Even plants can run a fever, especially when they're under attack by insects or disease. But unlike humans, plants can have their temperature taken from3,000feet away-straight up.A decade ago, adapting the infrared()scanning technology developed for military purposes and other satellites, physicist Stephen Paley came up with a quick way to take the temperature of crops to determine which ones are under attack. The goal was to let farmers precisely target pesticide()spraying rather than rain poison on a whole field, which always includes plants that don't have pes()problems.Even better,Paley's Remote Scanning Services Company could detect crop problems before they became visible to the eye.An infrared scanner,on a plane flying at3,000feet at night, measured the heat sent out by crops. The data was turned into a color-coded map showing where plants were running“fevers".Farmers could then spot-spray,using50to70percent less pesticide than they otherwise would. The bad news is that Paley's company closed down in1984,after only three years.Farmers resisted the new technology and long-term supports were hard to find. But with the renewed concern about pesticides on produce, and refinements in infrared scanning,Paley hopes to get back into operation.Agriculture experts have no doubt about how the technology works."This technique can be used on75 percent of agricultural land in the United States,"says George Oerther of Texas AM. Ray Jackson, who recently retired from the Department of Agriculture, thinks long-distance infrared crop scanning could be adopted by the end of the decade, but only if Paley finds the financial support which he failed to obtain10years ago.广东专插本英语46.Plants will run a fever when they are_____.A.sprayed with pesticidesB.facing an infrared scannerC.troubled with insects or diseaseD.having their temperature taken47.In order to apply pesticide spraying precisely,we can use infrared scanning to_____.A.draw a color-coded mapB.locate the problem areaC.attract insects and treat diseaseD.estimate the damage to the crops48.Farmers can save a considerable amount of pesticide by_____.A.making use of spot-sprayingB.transforming poisoned rainC.consulting infrared scanning expertsD.detecting crop problems at an early stage49.The difficulty in applying infrared scanning technology to agriculture is_____.A.its high costB.the financial problemC.the decreased productionD.the lack of official support50.The passage mainly talks about the_____.A.problems of cropsB.temperature of plantsC.roles of Paley’s companyD.function of infrared scanningPart Cloze15%A friend of mine met with an accident driving in the darkness. His legs were so hurt that he couldn't move. What was the___51__was that he found himself una ble to ask for help―his mobile phone went out of___52__because of the exhausted battery.___53__could be done but to wait in the cold wilderness. It was eight hours later that day broke, and then the rescue arrived. It can___54__that he could stand the horror in the darkness for so long.Even more surprising was his___55__,"First of all,I checked up my physical conditions and found myself not in mortal danger. As there was no tools to___56__help,I leaned back in my seat trying my best to___57__the wound from bleeding. In this way I dozed off."His story put an end to my regret for the sadness of an exploration adventure that happened last year.A group of young men___58__to explore a mountain cave and got lost.___59__to find a way out in the dark cave they were frightened and ran anxiously without a sense of___60__.Finally they fell dead in fear and exhaustion. A.Mathematics.B.English.C.History.D.Typing.38.The writer’s attitude towards a part-time job is.A.positive B.negative C.neutral D.Hostile39.It can be inferred from the passage that if a student’s school work is not good,he.A.can find his weakness B.can get a new start in his workC.will fail in looking for a job D.will feel regret about his ability40.The passage is developed by giving.A.a comparison B.enough evidence C.some examples D.some factsPassage3Until the twentieth century, women did not often participate in sports.Part of the explanation for this is that women simply did not have time. Many women cooked, cleaned, and took care of children. They were so busy that they did not have time for sports.A second reason, especially in the late nineteenth century,is that a woman’s image at that time was one of weakness, illness, and delicacy. In the Victorian era, people thought that it was unladylike for a woman to be involved in any sports activity. There have been changes in both the view of women in the modern world, and also changes within the world of sports. These changes have allowed many more women to participate in sports. The general view of women has changed substantially since the Victorian era.Women are no longer considered delicate.People do not think it is unladylike for a woman to compete in sports.Women who win in sports activities are highly regarded. Many women now take part in sports and games of many different kinds, and enjoy doing so.This development is partly the result of a change in the image of women in the modern world.Women are also more active in sports now because of two changes in sports.First,in the early twentieth century, women began to compete regularly in the Olympics. Also, the number of events for women in the Olympics has been growing quite steadily. The fact that women can compete in the Olympics encourages many to become active in the various Olympic activities. In more recent years, television has had a noticeable effect on the popularity of women’s professional sports. Many women’s tennis matches and golf matches are on TV,along with many other competitions.Seeing women in professional sports on TV has made certain sports much more popular among women,as amateurs and as professionals.41.According to the passage, women did not often participate in sports in the past because.A.they were too busy B.they did not like competitionC.they did not like sports D.they loved staying at home42.Women began to participate in the Olympics.A.in the late nineteenth century B.in the Victorian AgeC.in the early twentieth century D.in the21st century has made women’s sports.A.well recognized B.highly regardedC.more professional D.more popular44.We can infer from the passage that.A.women used to be considered too weak for sportsB.women did less housework in the twentieth centuryC.the number of sports events has remained unchangedD.only women’s tennis matches and golf matches are on TV45.The best title for this passage is.A.The Image of Women B.Sports in the PastC.Women in Sports D.Modern SportsPassage4New research is trying to find how we learn and make decisions exactly. To the brain,a new thought or idea is like a spider. If it works hard enough,a web of knowledge spins out from it.Photos of the brain taken during learning actually show a kind of nerve cells firing, growing, and forming new connections. This is fascinating in itself, but what’s even more fascinating is that failure can cause this to happen. That’s right;failure can enhance your brain.Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck has compared the brain waves of people with growth and fixed mind-sets.She finds that, when those with growth mind-sets fail at a task, they would enter a more focused mental state. And as they try again and again, they improve. In effect, they’ve learned, and their brains have“grown”. Those with fixed mind-sets,however,never enter this focused state of learning and show little advancement.Antoine Bechara,a professor of psychology and neuroscience at the University of Southem California, has taken Dweck’s work a step further. He recently isolated two equally sized centers in the brain. These areas interact during the decision-making process.Although more research is needed, these centers may turn out to be the physical locations for Dweck’s twin mind-sets.“We always knew people could learn from their mistakes, but now we’re finding out exactly how and where this happens,”explains Bechara.“In a normally functioning brain, failure is taken as an opportunity for learning and strengthening the species.”46.According to the passage, like a spider,a new thought or idea could.A.come from hard work B.enrich your brainC.be very fascinating D.form a knowledge web47.Which of the following statements about Antoine Bechara is true?A.He explored how human beings survive.B.He found how the brain normally functions.C.He probablydiscovered the physical locations for the twin mind-sets.D.He studied the brain waves of people with growth and fixed mind-sets.48.Carol Dweck’s work has something to do with.A.how to take photos of the brainB.how failure helps the brain“grow”C.when the areas in the brain interact with each otherD.when nerve cells fire, grow, and form new connections49.The passage is most probably from a.A.laboratory journal B.newspaper reportC.medical magazine D.personal resume50.The author’s tone can be best described as.A.objective B.critical C.personal D.officialPart III Cloze(15%)At the beginning of1993,Harrison Textile Company,a plant that makes clothes for people, suffered a disaster. A yellow room makes most people feel more cheerful and more relaxed than a dark green one; and a red dress brings warmth and cheer to the saddest winter day. It is an established fact that factory workers work better. harder. and have fewcr accidents when their machines arc painted orange rather than black or grey.36. The sentence "You would rather follow than lead" in paragraph l means that you would .A. like to lead followersB. be afraid of following othersC. be a member rather than a leaderD. like to be a leader rather than a follower37. If one enjoys life, one is sure to prefer .A. red to yellowB. blue to orangeC. blue to yellowD. red to grey38. Which of the following statements is true?A. People's preference of one colour to another is instinct.B. People's preference of one colour to another is acquired as they grow up.C. Factory workers meet fewer accidents when their machines are painted grey.D. More people happen to love brown because they saw it when they were born.39. Those who committed suicide preferred the bridge over the Thames River to others because of itsA. shapeB. colourC. structureD. materials40. Jamie Oliver's 2005 campaign to get children to eat healthily also highlighted the issue. In the eyes of Charlotte Hollins. makes fewer people work on farms.A. rich life of farmersB. a low rate of suicideC. hard life on the farmsD. high prices of farm products43. According to the passage, more and more young people leave their fathers' land because farming cannotoffer .A. a hard worldB. a vital human needC. a nice and straightforward lifeD. enough money and honourable life44. Some people are born withdisabilities. It is almost impossible for theable-bodied to fully appreciate what the severely disabled go through. so it is important to draw attention to these barriers and show that it is the individual person and their ability. not their disability, which counts.46. The examinationsystem however, does anything but that. It may happen that you life 68 greatly on your preference of one choice to the other. In fact that is what 69 is like. 2024广东专插本英语考试题型全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇12024 Guangdong Zhuankou English Test - What to ExpectHi everyone! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm a 5th grader. My big brother is going to take the Guangdong Zhuankou English test this year to try to get into a good university program. He's been studying really hard, so I asked him to tell me all about the test formats. Here's what he said:The Listening SectionThe listening part is just like the listening exercises we do in class. There will be some recordings and I have to answer questions about what I heard. My brother says there are two parts - listening to conversations and listening to lectures or news reports. For the conversations, it will be people talking about daily life stuff like shopping, traveling, or talking to friends and family.I need to listen carefully for details like names, times, places, and reasons people are doing things. The lectures are a little harder. The recordings might be about science, history, or other school subjects. I have to pay close attention and take notes on the main ideas and important details. The questions afterwards will ask about the topic, purpose, details, and the speaker's view or opinion. My brother warned me that the audio recordings can be pretty fast, so I need to concentrate really hard. But at least they play each recording twice! The Reading SectionThen there is a reading section, which is just like the reading comprehension we do in English class. There will be some passages and I have to read them and answer questions. The passages can be about all different topics like travel, education, science, culture, or social issues. Some of them might have charts, graphs or pictures too. My brother says it's important to read the passages carefully and make sure I understand the main ideas and details before answering the questions. The questions will ask about things like the main idea, details, vocabulary meaning from context, and making inferences. Therecould also be questions about the author's viewpoint or purpose for writing the passage. My brother says the reading passages aren't too hard individually, but there are a lot of them. So I need to manage my time well and read quickly but carefully. The Writing SectionLastly, there is a writing section where I have to write an essay of around 300 words. Don't worry, that's not too long for an elementary student like me!The essay topic could be about anything - maybe an issue in society, a personal experience, or my opinion on something. My brother says I need to state my main idea clearly, then give supporting details and examples. It's important to organize my essay logically into paragraphs with clear transitions between ideas. I should also use a variety of vocabulary and grammar structures that I've learned. My brother reminded me to leave time at the end to check my writing and correct any mistakes before submitting my essay.Getting ReadyPhew, that's a lot of different sections! My brother has been doing practice tests to get ready. He's also been reading a lot of articles and books in English about different subjects. That helps him learn more words and background knowledge.I tried to do a practice test too, but some of the lectures and readings were too difficult for me. An elementary student like me would struggle with this university admission test! But I'm going to keep studying hard in my English classes. Then when I'm older, I'll be ready to take the real Guangdong Zhuankou English test. I just need to listen carefully, read closely, and practice my writing skills.Good luck to my brother and anyone else taking the test this year! Let me know if you have any other questions.篇2The 2024 Guangdong English Test for Top-up DegreesHi everyone! My name is Lucy and I'm a 10-year-old student. Today I want to tell you all about the big English test that students in Guangdong have to take if they want to get a top-up degree. It's called the 2024 Guangdong専修本English Test. Myolder brother Tommy is going to take it this year, so I've learned a lot about it from him.The test has four sections – listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Tommy says the listening part is really hard because you have to listen carefully to recordings and answer questions. The recordings are just conversations between people or lectures from professors. You can't just listen once, you have to pay super close attention! The reading section has a few different types of passages. There are news articles, stories, scientific writings, and more. After reading each passage, you have to answer detailed questions to show you understood the main ideas and important details. Tommy struggles with the reading because some of the vocabulary is really advanced. For the writing section, you have to write two essays - one shorter one and one longer one. The short essay is about agreeing or disagreeing with a statement. The long essay makes you analyze two sides of an issue or argue for a certain viewpoint. My brother finds the writing pretty tough because you're expected to use really sophisticated language and organize your ideas perfectly. Finally, there's the speaking section where you have to answer questions and give speeches out loud. You get given a topic and have to prepare for a minute, then speak about it clearly for 1-2 minutes. There's also a part where you have a conversation篇3The 2024 Zhuan Zhuan Ben English Test: What to ExpectHey there, fellow students! My name is Xiaoming, and I'm a 5th grader here in Guangdong Province. You know what's coming up soon? The big bad 2024 Guangdong Zhuan Zhuan Ben English test! I've heard a lot about it from my older siblings and cousins who had to take it. It sounds pretty intense, but I'll do my best to break it down for you in simple terms.First off, what even is this Zhuan Zhuan Ben test? Well, it's an important English exam that students in Guangdong have to take if they want to get into good middle schools or high schools. It tests how well you know English grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and listening. Basically, it covers all the English skills you've been learning since kindergarten! From what I've heard, the test has four main sections: Listening, Reading, Grammar & Vocabulary, and Writing. Let me give you a rundown of each one.Listening TestIn this part, you'll hear recordings of people speaking English, like conversations, lectures, or stories. Then you'll have to answer multiple-choice questions about what you heard. It tests how well you can understand spoken English. My big sis says the listening passages can be about all sorts of topics, like daily life, school, travel, or even science and technology. She says the key is to listen carefully and try to pick up on the main ideas and specific details mentioned. Sometimes the speakers might use idioms or slang, so you gotta be ready for that too!Reading TestThis is probably the section I'm most worried about. In the reading test, you'll have to read different types of passages, like stories, articles, or advertisements. Then you'll answermultiple-choice and short-answer questions to show you understood what you read. The reading passages can be pretty long and might use difficult vocabulary words or complicated sentence structures. My cousin told me to practice reading English books, magazines, and websites to get used to different reading styles. He also said to watch out for questions that ask about the main idea, specific details, word meanings, or making inferences from the text.Grammar & VocabularyAh, the dreaded grammar and vocabulary section. This part tests your knowledge of English grammar rules and your vocabulary range. There might be questions where you have to fill in blanks with the correct verb tense, preposition, or pronoun. Other questions might ask you to choose the right word or phrase to complete a sentence. My older brother says the best way to prepare for this is to just keep practicing grammar exercises and learning new vocabulary words every day. He made flashcards and played vocabulary games to help him memorize things better. Boring, I know, but it seems to work!Writing TestLast but not least, the writing test. This is where you'll have to write one or two short essays or responses to a prompt orquestion. The prompts could be about almost anything, like your personal experiences, opinions on a topic, or a hypothetical situation. The writing section tests your ability to organize your thoughts, use proper grammar and vocabulary, and express yourself clearly in written English. My mom always reminds me to plan out my essays first, use transition words to connect ideas, and proofread my work at the end.She also says it's important to practice writing different types of essays, like narratives, persuasive pieces, or informational writing. That way, you'll be ready for whatever prompt comes your way on test day.Phew, that's a lot of information to take in, huh? I know the Zhuan Zhuan Ben English test sounds pretty intimidating, but try not to stress too much. As long as you study hard, practice consistently, and believe in yourself, I'm sure you'll do great!Just remember to get plenty of rest before the test, eat a good breakfast, and stay focused during each section. You've got this! If a little kid like me can understand what to expect, then you'll definitely be prepared. Good luck, everyone! Let's show them what we Guangdong students are made of!篇4The 2024 Guangdong Zhihuazhuan English ExamWow, this year's Guangdong Zhihuazhuan English exam was really hard! I'm an elementary school student, and some of those questions had me completely stumped. But I'll do my best to tell you all about the different types of questions we had to answer.First up was the listening comprehension section. They played these audio clips of people talking, and we had to answer multiple choice questions about what we heard. Some of the audio was just a single person speaking, but others were conversations between two or more people. The topics covered all sorts of everyday situations like shopping, travel, school life, and more. I found the listening section pretty tricky because the speakers talked so fast! I really had to concentrate to catch all the details. After listening, we moved on to reading comprehension. This involved reading some longer passages and answering questions related to the main ideas, details, vocabulary in context, and making inferences. The reading passages were about all kinds of subjects - science, history, culture, you name it. Many of the passages used some quite advanced vocabularythat I wasn't familiar with. My teacher says I need to read more to build up my word power! Then came the fun part - writing! For the writing section, we had to write a short essay of around 200 words. The prompts asked us to express our views on a particular topic or describe a personal experience. One prompt was "What is the most important quality for a friend to have?" and another was "Describe your favorite outdoor activity." I really enjoy writing, so this was my favorite part of the test. I made sure to organize my ideas into clear paragraphs and use lots of examples and details. The grammar section was super tricky. We had to identify errors in sentences and correct them. There were all sorts of grammar points being tested like verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, prepositions...my head was spinning! I need to review my grammar rules for sure. We also had to rewrite some sentences while keeping the same meaning. Changing the sentence structure without changing the meaning is harder than it looks.Vocabulary questions were scattered throughout the different sections too. Sometimes they would just ask for the definition of a word based on how it was used in the passage. Other times, we had to choose the correct word to fill in a blankin a sentence. I struggled with words that have multiple meanings or are only used in certain contexts. Expanding my vocabulary is definitely something I need to work on.Translating short phrases between Chinese and English was another task we had to do. I found it easier to translate from Chinese into English, since I'm more familiar with Chinese expressions and idioms. But translating English phrases and idioms into Chinese was really hard if I didn't recognize their intended meaning.Phew, I'm exhausted just thinking about all the different parts of this exam! As you can see, it really tested our English abilities from multiple angles - listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and translation. I gave it my best effort, but I'm sure there are plenty of areas I can continue improving.I'm honestly not sure how I did on the exam overall. Some sections went better than others for me. No matter the result, I know I learned a ton just from taking this challenging test. It really opened my eyes to which English skills I'm strong in and which ones need more practice. I'm going to follow my teacher's advice - read more, do more practice exercises, and keep exposing myself to authentic English sources.Well, that's my play-by-play recap of the 2024 Guangdong Zhihuazhuan English exam experience! It was intense but also kind of fun to put my English abilities to the test. I'm already looking forward to next year's exam so I can show off how much I've improved. Here's to many more years of English learning and growth!篇5The 2024 Big Guangdong English TestHi friends! My name is Xiaoming and I'm going to tell you all about the huge important English test that happened in Guangdong this year. It's called the Guangdong Specialized Admission English Exam and it was really really hard! But I studied super duper hard so I think I did ok.First, let me tell you about the writing part. We had to write two essays - one was supposed to be an article about environmental protection and the other was a letter to a friend describing our favorite teacher. The article had to be at least 300 words and the letter 200 words. That's a ton of words! My hand was so tired after writing that much. For the article, I wrote about how we need to recycle more and not waste water and electricity. I talked about taking shortershowers and turning off lights when you leave a room. I also said we should take public transportation instead of having our parents drive us everywhere. Environmental protection is really important for the future of the planet! For the letter, I gushed about my English teacher Mr. Wang. He is the best teacher ever! He makes learning English so much fun with songs and games. He also gives us cool stickers when we do well. I wrote about how patient he is and how he always makes sure everyone understands before moving on. Teachers like Mr. Wang are the best! After the writing part, we had to do a bunch of reading comprehension passages. There were like 5 different passages we had to read and then answer multiple choice questions about them. The passages were about all kinds of topics like panda habitats, the history of computers, and exploring the ocean. The questions asked specific details from the passages to see if we could find the evidence and information. It was pretty tough because some of the vocabulary was really advanced for my level. But I tried my best!Next up was the listening part and that was definitely the hardest for me. We had to listen to recordings of conversations, lectures, radio shows and all sorts of things. The audio playedonly once and we couldn't pause or rewind it. We had to bubblein the answers to comprehension questions on our answer sheet as we listened. The recordings went pretty fast and had lots of idioms and slang that made it super difficult to understand. I really need to work on my listening skills! The last part was the cloze test where we had to fill in blanks in a passage by selecting the right word from a bank of choices. This is always so tricky because you have to really understand context clues and grammar rules. The passage was about the future of technology and had predictions for what the world might be like in 20 years. Some of the sentences were really long with multiple blanks. I tried using strategies like eliminating obvious wrong choices, but it was still crazy hard.Phew, I'm exhausted just thinking about how intense that test was! Afterwards, my brain felt like mashed potatoes. All that reading, writing, listening and filling in blanks really drained my energy. I really really hope I did well enough to get a good score. If you have to take this test in the future, here are my tips: Practice your English every single day, even if it's just a little bit. Go over sample test papers from previous years so you know what to expect. Don't stress too much though - just do your best! Be sure to get a good night's sleep before the big test day. Most importantly, don't give up! Learning English is super useful and can open up lots of opportunities later in life. Yeah the test is really difficult, but if you study hard you can definitely pass it. Just keep practicing and don't be discouraged. You got this!Well, that's all I have to share about my experience with the 2024 Guangdong Specialized Admission English Exam. It was no walk in the park, that's for sure! But I'm proud of myself for pushing through and trying my hardest. Fingers crossed my score turns out well. Let me know if you have any other questions!篇6The Big Important English Test in GuangdongHi there friends! Are you getting ready for a very important English test? The one called the Guangdong Zhuankoben exam? Well, you've come to the right place to learn all about it!This test is a really big deal for students who want to go to a great university without taking the crazy hard gaokao exam. It could be conversations, lectures, news reports, or other things. You'll hear each recording twice, which is nice! Maybe you can practice by closing your eyes and listening to your parents or teachers talk. Then quiz yourself after on what they said!Part 2: Reading ComprehensionThis part tests how well you can read and understand different English passages. The passages could be about science, culture, economics, or anything else. After reading each passage, you'll get asked detailed questions to check if you really got the main ideas and important details.I know reading can be kind of boring sometimes. But you can make it more fun by reading out loud with silly voices! Orpretend you're a newscaster reading the latest surprising news report. Get those reading skills sharp for the test day!Part 3: Grammar and VocabularyUh oh, this part looks at your English grammar and vocabulary knowledge. It's like a fun little fill-in-the-blank game!If you get stuck, you could always ask your English teacher for some grammar games and activities to practice. The more vocabulary words you know, the easier it will be. Learn new words by coming up with silly rhymes or keeping a "New Word Notebook"!Part 4: WritingLast but not least, the writing section! For this part, you'll be given a writing prompt and have to write a short essay or article in English. The prompt could be about anything, like your opinion on an issue, describing an experience you had, or telling a creative story.Don't worry if writing isn't your favorite thing! Just do your best, get a good night's sleep before the test, and don't stress too much!Remember, the Guangdong Zhuankoben exam is a amazing chance to get into a top university ahead of everyone else.
