Should private car owners be taxed for pollution The development of social productivity has caused environmental degradation ,such as air pollution ,water pollution. The problems of pollution become more and more serious. However ,in the aspect of air pollution ,more and more private cars pour into streets and vehicle exhaust makes air pollution much worse. Thus voices of private car tax are higher. As for me, I disagree with this view. The followings are my reasons.
Firstly, if private cars owners are taxed for pollution except for public transports, why should they be taxed and the government not? What’s the fair between the public and government? Can this policy make all people convince that being taxed is deserved ? why not walk in cars owners’ shoes?
Secondly, if private car owners are taxed for pollution, it will lead to the traffic paralysis because many people will choose the public transports more often and use cars less. By then, it will be a headache for office workers to face the public transport paralysis and the crowd. So that, it may be affect the efficiency of many aspects.
Last but not least, nowadays, people, with too much burden, live in this society which is a high consumption of social. If the government carry out this tax policy , it is no doubt that the tax put their burden much heavier. Is it okay? Mortgage and job stress have already made
people out of breath. Not all the people are the fat cats. Many people are down and out, especially in Asia. Moreover, in view of income of the public , carrying this policy is like herding cats.
In sum, government should take it more seriously to consider whether carrying it or not. It’s just my own opinions about disagreement.。
