Describe yourselfWell, to start with, I think I will tell you what I do. I am a lawyer here in Shanghai and I've been working as an attorney for about 3 years. My work is interesting, but it involves very complicated issues and often there are various strategies that are necessary for success.I enjoy meeting people and forming new relationships with people. I enjoy hearing people's stories and I like trying my best to help them. I also enjoy getting out with my friends and enjoying the entertainment places. I am a big fan of jazz and there are a few places that I go to enjoy it. I can also play the saxophone, and even play in a band at a bar from time to time, but I don't have time to do it regularly. What I don't like doing? Hmm..1et me think, well I suppose I just don't like having to go through a lot of very tedious details at work, and, quite frankly, I don't like clients who lie to me about their situation. Thereare some things about the job which I don't like, and I'm not proud about everything that I do, but overall I really like it.I think my good points are that I'm quite good at communicating. I mean, you have to be as a lawyer. I do know a lot about the law, especially commercial law, which is my specialty. I have a good memory for legal issues and law, and I can use them quite well to argue a point. My bad points are that I am the worst person for remembering directions.I get loot everywhere when I'm travelling. If you ask my wife she'll tell you that there's nobody as bad as me for getting lost in places. As for how you can be my friend, I think the key thing is that you just need to have a good sense of humour and you just need to be honest in your actions. Actually, I am quite willing to be anyone's friend, but I hate people who make a big show of it. I don't need any special favours or gifts to be my friends. If people just act like themselves...well, that's good enough for me.。

I had always been fascinated by the rich history and culture of Italy, so I was thrilled to have the chance to explore this amazing country.Firstly, I visited the historic city of Rome, where I was able to see iconic landmarks such as the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Vatican City. The architecture and the stories behind these ancient structures were truly awe-inspiring, and I spent hours wandering through the cobblestone streets, soaking in the atmosphere of this ancient city. After Rome, I traveled to the picturesque region of Tuscany, where I was able to experience the stunning countryside and the charming small towns.

Why?

Someone in the News You Would Like to MeetDescribe someone who has recently been in the news who you would like to meet. You should say:Who this person isWhy this person has been in the newsWhat kind of person he/she isand explain why you would like to meet them (=meet him or her).A Movie StarDescribe an actor/actress in film who has impress you.You should say:When you watched this filmWhat role he/she plays in the filmWhat is the film aboutand explain why you find him/her impressive.

Describe a restaurant you have been to and enjoyed.

Describe a trip you made by public transport. You should say:Where you wentWhat public transport you choseWhy you chose public transportAnd how you felt about the trip很多考生在拿到此话题看一眼以后会感到很开心,因为他们第一眼看到了题目中的“trip”,而旅行的话题,大部分考生都或多或少有些准备。

例如,你可以说:“When I was young, I always loved to read books. It’s a habit that has stayed with me until now.”2.

例如,你可以说:“As Einstein once said, ‘The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible.’I believe this is true for language as well.”3.

例如,你可以说:“I believe the best way to learn a language is through immersion, but others argue that it’s better to take language classes. Personally, I thinkboth methods have their pros and cons.”4.

例如,你可以说:“When I was on a trip to France, I was able to use my French skills to communicate with the locals. It was a very rewarding experience.”

Describe an intelligent person you knowYou should say:Who this person isWhen and where you met themWhat kind of person he or she isand explain why you think this person is intelligent这宝贵的一分钟的时间,我们首先要做的就是分类工作。

以这道题为例who the person is? 这个问题其实也就是问background information,而what kind of person he or she is?

Describe a person who is your friend Who he/she is?What he/she looks like What he/she does?Explain why you like this person。

Who this person is?

I have lots of good friends. But speaking of my best friend, I think it is...

Can I have your ID please?

Strategies for Ielts speaking

Strategies for Ielts speaking

Strategies for theIELTS Speaking TestPart 1 - Warm-up• The questions are easy, so the examiner cannot be sure of your level from only Part 1. You can give very easy answers, but this is a chance to make a good impression. If you give easy answers, the examiner will not know if you are Band 4 or maybe Band 5. If you give good, specific answers with explanations, the examiner will think you could be Band 6 or Band 7!• You can use this time to practice making good sentences. If you wait until Part 2 and Part 3 to give longer answers, you might not do so well. Athletes and musicians always take time to warm up. You should too!Part 2 - the "Long Turn"• The biggest mistake students make is to not take notes. The examiner will give you a piece of paper and a pencil to take notes because speaking for two minutes without stopping is not easy. Even native English speakers will have trouble speaking for two minutes! Students who don't take notes often say, "Uh, I think maybe, um.... Um..., well... It seems to me...". "Uh" and "Um" are Band ZERO! Use notes to help you remember what you want to say. If not, you WILL get a low score.• Use the P.R.E.P. method. Start with "P" - make one sentence about your main Point. Then give two or three sentences to provide "R", a Reason. Next give "E", an Example. Describe the example using two or three sentences. Finish by repeating "P", your main Point, but use a different sentence. If you have extra time, give a second example. • You must practice! Use a watch and give yourself one minute to take notes on a topic, then two minutes to make four or five sentences using the PREP method. You should practice one or two topics every day before the test.• Do not worry about the time. That is the examiner's job. Heor she will tell you when to stop.Part 3 - General Questions• Part 3 is the hardest part of the Speaking Test and it comes very fast. Most students aren't ready. When you hear the examiner say "And now I'd like to ask you some more GENERAL questions RELATED to your Part 2 topic", you know Part 3 is starting. Be ready!• Do NOT take so much time. Two sentences for each answer is usually enough. If you have a long introduction, the examiner will think you don't know how to answer the question.• Use the General-Specific technique. As soon as you hear the question, give a general opinion about the topic. Then give a specific reason or example in the next sentence or two.Exercises:IELTS Speaking Exercise:Sentence BuildingMake better sentences, get a better score!Question: Tell me about your family.Common Answer: There are three people in my family.Better Answer: In China today, a majority of families have three members, and my family is no exception.

雅思⼝语Part2的答题策略 策略⼀:WH细节描述法 当考⽣在⾯对话题⽆从下⼿时,可以利⽤ ”WH Questions”来引导思路的拓展,包括 “what, when, where, who(whom),why, how (how exactly, how often, how long, how much, how many)”。

In the shop, you can always find some specialand interesting stuff, such as hand-made floating lantern, photo books, tinychina pot, and Nepali jewelries and things like that.
