The top man tells a story of a climbing expedition. A group of explorers determined to conquer the K3, the highest peak in the Himalayas. Nace bearing the death of friend John leaded the team with Obsborn. But in the end Nace in order to save the impatient and thoughtless Osborn's life disappeared in the snow. And he used the rest of his strength to reach the top in commemoration of John.
The climax reached when the author revealed the ending--"to Martin from John". It's transparent to see the spirit of Nace. He was blowed by the death of John, but he transforms the misery to courage; he was irritated by aggressive Osborn, but he sacrifices his life to save him. At the end of Nace's life, he climbs to the top and uses the last strength to crave John's name on K3. Bravery, endurance and integrity all spark in his soul, which touches the softest part of our heart.
The short of breath, the punch of the heart, the blankness of mind, there are all the feelings compelled by K3. They are great explorers, walking in the high altitude with such little atmosphere, where few animals can survive. They climb and dare to conquer, awaring the hidden danger, death and hardness. Some people may say that death is nothing. Then how about the torture and harshness in challenging your limit? How hard it is to carry on heavy equipment and thick clothes to climb in the snow? you don't even
have the strength to breath but still have to move on. How hopeless when you feel you will die in a little tent without achieving your big dream? How desperate is it when you hear the whisper of arrival avalanche with the roaring o f the death ? Aren't they horrible than death? Great explorers like Nace, they dare to go to hell, they dare to fight against God. They don't enter heaven or hell. They are alive forever and remembered by people.
People never feel so small before until they look up to the grand mountain. All flood in mind is the magnitude and vigor of the nature. So their hearts kneel down to the mighty. Let's remember him, Nace, the first one who dares say no to K3 and all kinds of explorers like him.。
