这也是本单元的重点。
通过这节课的学习，学生应能较流利的运用所学词汇和句型描述动物，表达个人喜好。
本课出现了许多描述动物的形容词，所以我为本课设计了一个情感目标，希望学生们都能用上好的描述词语来描述自己，比如clever smart friendly cute ,而大家要远离 lazy 。
教学目标根据本教材的结构和内容分析，结合七年级学生的认知结构及其心理特征，我制定了以下的教学目标：1.知识目标：（1）掌握表示动物的名词和描述动物特征的形容词。
（2）掌握why 引导的特殊疑问句的问与答。
2.能力目标：学会描述动物和表达喜好。
3.情感态度价值观目标：（1）通过对动物的描述，培养学生热爱自然，保护动物的意识。
（2）通过对本单元的任务型小组活动，培养学生互相帮助、团结合作的学习习惯，激发他们对学习英语的兴趣和热情；通过组与组之间的竞争，培养了学生的竞争意识和上进心。
教学重、难点本着初中英语新课程标准，在吃透教材基础上，我将教材内容进行了适当的调整，将Let’s句型放到第三课时，将Why do you like ---？Because they are---。
提到第一节课上。
在此基础上，我确定了以下的教学重点和难点。
重点：表示动物的名词和描述动物特征的形容词。
难点：学会用why提问原因，用because表达。
为了讲清教材的重、难点，使学生能够达到本节内容设定的教学目标：我再从教法和学法上谈谈。
教学方法1教法（1）创设情境，引导学生在运用语言中学习语言，如我和学生自由谈论：你喜欢动物吗？你喜欢什么动物？为什么？并帮助学生回答，学生在回答的过程中就学习了本课的目标语言。
