Today we are going to visit the scenery spot “panshan” mountain, which has been called “the first mountain east to Beijing”.Now we have arrived at the panshan mountain,please take all your valuable belongings before getting off the bus and please remember our bus position and the bus number, JinA1230.Now we have arrived at the huge gate of panshan mountain . you can see there are 4 characters “无终胜境”on the gate. They were written by Mr. 溥杰. Let’s go into the gate and enjoy the beauty of panshan. First, we are coming to a sight of “三盘暮雨”. In ancient times, people divied panshan mountain into three levels, the upper, the middle and the lower. The so-called “三盘暮雨” refer to “after rain, panshan Mt. is surrounded by mist and thin floating clouds, emerging the magnificent sights of “being fine but not fine, not raining but raining”. Let’s go on our journey. Now what you see is the Chinese character”入胜”, they were written by 荣禄, who was an important military official and leading scholar of the late Qing dynasty. 荣禄’s dia-name is 中华,so here his inscription is written by 中华.everyone may have a rest here, by the way, I’ll give a brief introduction to panshan Mt. panshan Mt. is an extendint of Yanshan Mt., covering an area of 106 square kilometers. It can be said that Panshan Mt. is is known both for its majesty and precipices and its particularity of 5 peaks, 8 rocks and 3 levels. The host peak among the 5 peaks is guayue peak, it’s 864.4 meters high above sea level, with Zigai peak in its front, Rilai peak behind it , Jiu hua peak to its east and Wujian peak to its west. The five peaks appeals endless visitors. But what is the most attractive is the particularity at three levels of Panshan Mt., the pines at the upper level, the rocks at the middle level, and the water at the lower level. As the emperor Qianlong of qing dynasty once said :” Had I known panshan earlier,why should I have toured down the Yangzi river to the south?” now, every one will follow me to continue our journey.Now we have arrived at “鸣驺入谷”. In fact, the character “驺” referred to the belt hung on the neck of the horse. As panshan Mt. is a famous mountain of buddism and it once has located many temples and pagodas. So in ancient times, when the high-rank officials came here, they were accompanied by many vehicles which run by horses to show their respect to the buddhas. After the visit of “鸣驺入谷”, you’ll see there’re many stone inscriptions on panshan Mt. now before you are four characters”四正门径”. At the mention of “四正门径”, it’s necessary to talk about the origin of the name “盘山”. Originally, panshan Mt. was not named panshan, it was once for 盘龙Mt., 四正Mt., and 无终Mt. and so forth. And after that , it was renamed panshan. The reason for being called 盘山is that in over look from the top, the mountains are like flying dragons. So it was ever called 盘龙Mt. for dragon in Chinese is 龙.Finishing the visit on 四正门径, you can find a huge rock in front of you, this is the famous 元宝rock, the rock got its name from what it looks like. You see the rock is wide at the top and narrowat the bottom, like a large 元宝, a kind of money made by silver in ancient china.Let’s move forward. Now, we can see a great rock bridge. At the end of the bridge, there’s a pine, look ,the pine is leaning forward and welcoming you. We call it the “greeting pine” in Panshan Mt. it’s a matter of fact that this bridge is place refered to emperor Qianlong. It’s said that in AD1742, when wmperor Qianlong came to Panshan Mt., he stood on the bridge, and said “Sceneries in each and every section can be acquired”. Then the most smart one among the accompanying group 纪晓岚immediately responded with second line, he said:” Wishing the wmperor a long lasting life”. So the emperor was very delighted and then he composed an other poet “A bridge lying across the stream among the mountains, the clouds leaving with a long shadow, flexuous streams giving a wonderful music.”After a short rest, we shoule move on . here, we are at the key scenic spot of panshan Mt.--- 天成temple. There’re three characters 天成寺at the top of the gate written by emperor Qianlong. Please enter the temple with me. The two-story more beautiful in front of you is 江山一览pavilion, where emperor Qianlong lives when he came to Panshan Mt. It’s specially built for 云海monk, who was the substitute monk for emperor Qianlong. Through the cloister, there is a giant rock carved with 幽静, which means quietness. Now, we come to the main hall, the hall of Mahayana. It treasures the images of Sakyamuni (the founder of Buddhism) and 18 buddhism arhat. Have you seen that tower? It’s called the Sariradhatu tower and was built in Liao dynasty. That was about 1111 AD. And it’s said that there are over thirty thousand sariradhatu stored in the tower.Ok, everyone, I have finished the explanation of Panshan Mt.
