The innermost layer is called the core. It is made up of hot, solid iron and nickel. Above the core is the mantle. The mantle is made up of hot, semi-solid rock. Above the mantle is the crust. The crust is the Earth’s surface and is made up of rocks and soil. It is the thinnest layer of the Earth.The Earth is always moving. It spins on its axis, whichis an imaginary line that runs from the North Pole to the South Pole. It takes the Earth about 24 hours to complete one spin. This is why we have day and night.The Earth also orbits, or goes around, the Sun. It takes the Earth about 365 ¼ days to complete one orbit. This is why we have seasons. As the Earth moves around the Sun, it also tilts slightly. This tilt causes different parts of the Earthto receive more or less sunlight at different times of the year, creating the different seasons.The Earth is a very beautiful and amazing place. It is the only planet in our solar system that can support life. It provides us with everything we need to survive – air, water, food, and shelter. We should always remember to take care of our planet and keep it clean and healthy for future generations.Lesson 2: The Solar SystemOur solar system is made up of the Sun and everythingthat orbits around it. This includes eight planets, their moons, dwarf planets, asteroids, and comets.The Sun is at the center of our solar system. It is a huge, hot ball of glowing gases. It provides light and heat to the planets and other objects in our solar system.The eight planets in our solar system are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. They are divided into two groups – the inner planets and the outer planets.The inner planets are the four planets closest to the Sun. They are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. These planets are made up of mostly rock and metal. They are also smaller and have fewer moons compared to the outer planets.The outer planets are the four planets farthest from the Sun. They are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. These planets are made up of mostly gas and ice. They are also much larger and have more moons compared to the inner planets.Each planet in our solar system orbits the Sun at its own speed and distance. Some planets, like Mercury and Venus,orbit the Sun quicker than others, while planets like Neptune and Uranus take much longer to complete an orbit.The planets also spin on their axes, just like the Earth spins on its axis. However, the speed at which they spin varies from planet to planet.The planets in our solar system are not the only objects that orbit the Sun. There are also dwarf planets, asteroids, and comets. Dwarf planets are smaller than the eight main planets and do not have a clear orbit in the solar system. The most famous dwarf planet is Pluto.Asteroids are small, rocky objects that orbit the Sun. They are mostly found in the asteroid belt, which is located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.Comets are icy objects that orbit the Sun. When comets get close to the Sun, they give off gas and dust, which creates a bright, glowing tail.Our solar system is a wondrous place full of amazing objects.
