Do you often find yourself sitting or standing there, looking at a TV, a computer or cell phone? Are you so disturbed by these objects that you forget what time it is?
If so, it’s very possible that you won’t be able to sleep well at night, according to a new study from th e National Sleep Foundation in the US.
The study shows that the use of electronics, such as TVs and cell phones, before bedtime increase the chances of a bad night’s sleep.
Researchers say that the light from those electronics at night may make you excited before you go to bed. Then it’s hard for you to get enough sleep.
According to the survey, about 95 percent of Americans between the ages of 13 and 64 use electronics before bed. They have their eyes on a TV screen, a laptop or a cell phone within an hour of bedtime at least a few nights a week.
Among them, more and more young people—especially those under 20—are using cell phones and laptops right before bed.
So, what’s the key to eight hours of sleep each night?
Besides regular exercise, and following a regular sleeping schedule(时刻表), researchers strongly advise you to turn off cell phones, TVs, and all other screens, as soon as the sun goes down.
