How to form comparatives and superlatives with adjectives ・ Remember the rules on P13 in the English book ・
Rules: put 'than' after the comparatives. Put 'the' before the superlatives.

Step 1 ・ Presentation
1. ask students to describe some animals or food in the pictures with adjectives: e.g. a photo of a girl T: What does she look like?
S: She is tall. She is a tall girl. Her hair is long ・ She has long hair. e.g. a photo of a cat T: What is the cat doing
S: The lazy cat is sleeping on the sofa. The cat is very lazy.
Help the students to work out the rule: adjective + noun, linking verb + adjective
Help the students to remember the linking verbs: be, become, feel, get, grow, look, smell, sound, taste, turn, keep, stay … Step2 Practice
Do Exercise A on page 12, translate:
My cousin is very busy ・ His face is square./ He has a square face. My mother looks very happy now. Her eyesight is poor; She has poor eyelight

形容词原级、比较级和最高级
用形容词原级描写人和事物，可以放在名词前或与连系动词连用。

A lazy student She is short.
2. 用形容词比较级來比较两个人或事物。

Sandy^s money is more than mine. This story is more interesting than that one.
形容词比较级使用的句型为：A + be +比较级+than B.
如果A 与B 为动词用其动名词（ing 形式）或不定式（to do 形式） 此句型表示两者之间的比较。

如：Swimming is more exciting than running.
3. 用形容词最高级表示三者或三者以上人或物Z 间的比较吋，通常在句屮有一个介词短语 或定
语从句表示三者或三者以上的范围。
