My 6th Grade Essay Collection
My Summer Vacation
This summer was the best! I went to my grandparents' house in the countryside for a few weeks. It was so fun being able to run around outside all day without any schoolwork to do.

My grandpa took me fishing down at the creek and I even caught a few little fish! Grandma taught me how to bake her famous chocolate chip cookies. We'd sit on the porch in the evenings watching the fireflies. I miss being there already.
My Favorite Book
I love the Harry Potter book series! I just finished rereading all seven books over the summer. My favorite book is probably the third one, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.![Harry Potter book][]
I think the Dementors make that book really spooky and exciting. The part where Harry produces his first Patronus to drive them away gives me chills every time! I'd love to be able to
cast a Patronus spell. My favorite character is Hermione because she's so smart and brave.
A Funny Story
One time I was at a birthday party at a trampoline park. I was bouncing around having so much fun. Then all of a sudden, I bounced a little too high and ended up getting my shirt stuck on the ceiling fan!![Trampoline][]
I was just dangling there from my shirt, swinging in circles! All the other kids were laughing so hard. The workers had to come get a ladder to get me down. I was pretty embarrassed but now I can laugh about it. Always wear a tight shirt if you go to a trampoline park!
My Best Friend
My very best friend is Emma. We've known each other since preschool. She lives just down the street from me so we can walk to each other's houses. Emma is the nicest, funniest, and most loyal friend I could ask for. ![Two friends][]
We like a lot of the same things like drawing, telling jokes, and riding our bikes around the neighborhood. Sometimes we have sleepovers and stay up late watching movies and doing makeovers. I'm so thankful I have a great friend like Emma!
What I Want to Be When I Grow Up
When I grow up, I think I want to be a teacher. I had the best teacher last year, Ms. Miller, and she inspired me. She always made learning so much fun with games and

I admire how patient and kind she was, even with the students who had a hard time behaving. Being a teacher seems like such a rewarding job, getting to help kids learn new things every day. Of course, I'm still a kid myself so who knows, I may change my mind later! But for now, teacher is what I want to be.
