课题名称:冀教版三起五下Lesson 18: Little Zeke Sends an Email 教学分析:
学习者分析:学生已经基本掌握了本单元主要内容,初步有了整体感知,只要突破难点障碍,学生就能够迅速了解故事梗概。

五年级学生习态度积极,有一定的表现力,学生也有了一定的知识储备,语言输出灵活,表演有创意,教师要充分利用到这个特点,设计好排演、表演环节,激发他们表演的欲望,使其更加透彻理解故事。

学习内容分析:本课是讲故事,通过故事总结本单元所学的电子邮件的写法。

利用图片,照片、幻灯片、多媒体等,让学生直观形象地了解明信片、信件、电子邮件的写法,并能进行恰当的描述。

教学目标:
一、知识技能
1.学生能听懂和理解故事内容,把握中心思想。

2. 学生能就这个故事进行问答。

3. 学生能向同学复述这个故事。

4.学生能给Little Zeke 写电子邮件并发送给他。

二、学习策略:
在图片、手势的帮助下理解句子意思,并能口头运用句子表达自己的感情;小组合作学习。

三、文化意识与情感态度:
提高学生的观察能力和语言表达能力,培养学生学习英语的兴趣。

预习作业:1. Read after the tape of L 18.
教学重难点:
1.学生能听懂和理解故事内容,把握中心思想。

2. 学生能就这个故事进行问答。

3. 学生能向同学复述这个故事。

4.学生能给Little Zeke 写电子邮件并发送给他。

教学设计18: Little Zeke Sends an Email
Let’s send an email to my friend Emma!
We are having a great time.
Everyone is in bed sleeping.
教学过程
Step 1:Prepare to read
(1)Greeting:
T: Good morning, boys and girls.
Ss: Good morning, Mrs. Yang.
T: Now let’s begin our class.
(2)Ask and answer:
T: What does a postcard have on it ?
Why is an email a good way to send a message ?(free, no stamp, fast)
Who does Jenny send her email to ?
(3)Let’s sing the postcard song
设计意图:通过问答、唱歌等活动唤醒学生已有的知识。

T: Today we are going to read a story about Little Zeke(板书课题)
(4) L isten to the whole story: Two questions:Who writes an email? Why?
S1:Jenny writes an email to Emma. T: Why? Ask students to read the story and find the answer quickly. S2:I want to tell her about our trip.
T: Who else writes an email? S3: Little Zeke.
T: Why? Find the answer as quickly as you can.
S4:Because Emma is sleeping in her bed.
T:What time is it in Beijing now? What time is it in Ottawa?
S5:It is two o’clock in the afternoon. It’s one o’clock in Ottawa.
设计意图:通过设置问题并且层层深入的提问,引发学生思考,并且培养学生迅速锁定答案的寻读能力。

(5)Look at the pictures answer the questions:
Where are Jenny, Danny and Li Ming?
What are they doing?
Who does Jenny want to send an email to ?
Does Emma send Jenny the email back?
Who is Little Zeke?
Where does Little Zeke live?
Do they know Little Zeke?
让学生看图,讨论在每幅图中看到了什么。

学生回答的时候,教师在黑板上进行记录。

设计意图:让学生自己说出所见、所想。

引发学生对故事的探究欲望。

Step 2:Read
(1)Talk about the pictures.
P1:Jenny and Li Ming are sending emails.
P2:Jenny wants to send an email to her good friend ,Emma. She wants to tell Emma about her trip.
P3:Jenny writes the email. She tells Emma that it is in the afternoon where she is , but she knows that it is night time in Ottawa where Emma is. She says they are having a great time.
P4:Jenny wants to send another email. She wants to send it to her brother. Danny is hungry. He wants to go to have lunch.
P5:Jenny ,Danny and Li Ming get an email. They are very surprised. They know that it is late in Ottawa and everyone is sleeping there. Who can this email be from?
P6:They read the email. It is not from Emma. Who is it from?Little Zeke . Zeke says that Emma is fine, but she is sleeping now. Zeke does not have a bed. Zeke sleeps in a sock. The sock is a gift from Emma. Zeke is tired and is going to sock now.
P7: Jenny ,Danny and Li Ming are confused. They do not know who Little Zeke is.
设计意图:通过看图,理解图意,让学生感受整个故事脉络,同时让学生认识到时差的存在。

让学生思考,自然地进入最佳学习状态中。

(2)Listen to the story
Play the audiotape for the story. Everyone sits quietly and follows along.
Play the tape again, but this time everyone reads together as the tape plays.
Ask the students to read part of the story. Continue with new volunteers until all the panels are read aloud.
设计意图:让学生多听故事,便于学生再次深入文本内容,在听说读写方面熟悉新知识,提升综合能力。

Post-reading
1.Act out the story
Divided the class into groups of three, one girl,two boys.
Each group will practice parts of the story and present it to the rest of the class. Roles:Danny ,Jenny ,Li Ming
Ask them to look at the questions at the bottom of the page. They should ask and answer these questions among themselves before they begin to work out their presentation.
向学生解释小组任务:他们首先要决定扮演哪个角色;然后,阅读故事并决定如何表演。

设计意图:通过故事表演,让学生对文本内容内化升华,用语言表述出来。

2.Write an email :
Let students talk about something about writing an email to Jenny’s brother, Bob together. Complete the following chart.
They can use the following sentences:
Who do you often write an email to ? To…
What do you often write in your email?I often write …
学生完成调查表后,让他们给Little Zeke 或Bob写封电子邮件。

设计意图:由课本到生活,由学习到应用。

优化课堂,提高学习效率。

Step 3 Class closing
1.Summing up:重点句型:send …to… have a great time have lunch thank… for
2.Homework:
(1)用英语给自己的朋友或家人写一封电子邮件。

(2)总结本课常用句式。

设计意图:让学生学会及时归纳总结所学的新知识的好习惯。
