High School Life VS University Life英语作文8篇
high school life vs university life
蒋婵涵 (jacinthe) a057 point-by point comparison
i will always remember the day on which i stepped into the gate of my
university ,excited and happy, thinking that i can change my future. all the
things are fresh to me ,and the new life encouraged me to keep active all the
time. for the time being, however, without the initial excitement, i gradually
found that the life in university is not what i had imagined.
in university, we have lots of freedom, which is totally different from the
life in high school. we can take seats we like instead of the fixed seats in
fixed classroom in high school.
also, we have to do everything on our own. the only person we can depend on is
ourselves, in contrast, we can rely on our parents, our teachers in high
school, and self-reliance was much less important in daily life.
on the other hand, high school life and university life share lots of
similarities as well. for example, it is our duty to always attach great
importance to our lessons both in high school and in university, which is much
to my surprise. as the saying goes, “reward lies ahead of
diligence, but
nothing is gained by indolence.”
though there are striking differences between the ways of life, they are all my
valuable experiences

time flies! it seems a moment ,whereas, the fact is that i have really become
a college student. in retrospect, i can’t help exclaiming over my perseverance
and bravery for my pursuit of dreamed university. meanwhile, i also want to put
my finger on the difference between my high school life and now, the college
one.
after my careful consideration, i find out three big differences between them.
the primary one is the ways of teaching and learning. at high school, i got
used to doing what the teachers required, such as reciting essays, finishing
homework, doing many papers, etc. actually, this is so-called “spoon-feeding”
. in contrast, we must be active for learning at college. we students can
dominate most of spare time and there is sufficient freedom for us to study
further whatever we like.
and the second difference might be the ways of living. at high school, since
our attention is mainly focused on study, our life is attended to by our
parents. nevertheless, entering the college means putting the help and care
behind and handling all living things on our own. we must learn how to live
independently and how to make decisions on ourselves. it’s a challenge for us
as well as an opportunity to help us to grow up.
what’s more, it couldn’t be neglected that there is an obvious distinction
between the two lifestyles in terms of goals and plans. while at high school,
our goals may be limited and generally ideal, but the plan may be dim. overall,
the college entrance examination serves as the sole center of everything.
totally differently, as a college student, we must set certain goals early and
make our plans clear enough, not only for several exams, but for further
future. only in this way can a college student find his position and enrich
himself.
above is my consideration about the contrast of life between the high school
and college. anyhow, we are in college now, we should learn to change and adapt
to the college life style. we are supposed to do what we should.
