情态动词部分用法及练习（只针对初中）

它们表示说话人对某一动作或状态的态度，认为“可能” 、“应当” 、“必要”“应该” 等、但本身词义不完全，不能单独作谓语动词，必须和动词原形连用。它们没有人称和数的变化。

表现形式：can、could 、may、might 、must 、shall 、should 、will 、would 、need 、

否定缩写形式：can't、couldn't、mayn't、mustn't、shan't、shouldn't、won't、wouldn't 、needn't .

①将情态动词放在句首并大写首字母就变成一般疑问句。

②直接在情态动词后加not 构成否定句。

(一) can 和could

①can 表示现在的能力。could表示过去的能力。

1. Some of us can use computer , But we couldn'tten years ago .

2. I can play the guitar.

3. She can swim.

②表示许可：

1. Can / Could I borrow these books ?

③表示可能性：表示对某物的归属持肯定但不确定态度，认为某物可能是某人的。

Can’t表示对某物的归属持否定态度，认为某物不可能是某人的。（ can > could ）

1.I thought the story could be true .

（二）may / might

①表示许可（请求、给予、或拒绝许可）

1.You may go now .

注意：含有may的一般疑问句在作否定回答时用can't 或mustn't . 如：

2.May I watch TV after supper ? Yes, you may . No, you can't / mustn't .

②表示可能性：表示对某物的归属持肯定但不确定态度，认为某物可能是某人的。

( may > might )

1．They may have a lot of work to do .

（三）must

① must 表示“必须”、“应该”

1. I must go now .

②m ustn't 表示“不应该” 、“不许可”、“不准”、“禁止”等

注意：含有must的一般疑问句在作否定回答时用 needn't （没必要）或 don't have to.

1. Must I finish my homework before six o'clock ? Yes ,you must . No, you needn't .

③表示推测“一定” 、“必定” 只用在肯定句中：表示对某物的归属持肯定态度，认为某物一定或很可能是某人的。

1. There must be some mistakes .

注意：must 表示说话人的主观看法，没有人称和数的变化。have to 表示客观需要，有人称和数的变化

（四）助动词will 的最常用法，就是表示后面的动词属于将来式:

I will go tomorrow.

She will go tomorrow.

They will go tomorrow.

(五) 助动词should 的最常用法，意为“应该”表示劝告或建议

. You should lie down and rest.

I should answer his letter as soon as possible. (表示应该) 我应该尽快给他回信。

一、用表可能性的情态动词( can / could may / might must ) 填空。(必要时可加not).

1. Whose earrings are these? They _____ be Mary’s. she wears earrings sometimes.

2. Gina ______ come to the party tonight, but I’m not sure.
