Dear Henry,
Knowing that you are interested in Hong Kong — Zhuhai —Macau Bridge, I’m more than glad to give you a brief introduction to it.
The bridge, 55 kilometers long, is the world’s longest sea-crossing bridge. Its Unique and beautiful design sets it apart in the world. The construction began in 2009 and it was launched 9
years later. The new link brings much convenience, greatly reducing the travel time between Hong Kong and the Pearl River area. It will promote economic development of Great Bay Area and advance the government’s goal of closer economic integration.
I sincerely hope you can come to China for a ride across the bridge. (105 words)
Yours,
Li Hua

(Text 1)
M: I’m glad we take the train to the capital city. I don’t like to sit in buses.
W: Yes, I agree. We can enjoy the view through the windows. It’s even better than driving our own car.
(Text 2)
W: Which country will you visit next?
M: I’m going to Belgium for two weeks and then I’ll go to Switzerland to see my uncle. But my next stop will be Austria, I think.
(Text 3)
W: Sir, are you ready to order?
M: Oh, I’ve just finished dinner. I’m waiting for that girl to bring my bill.
(Text 4)
W: Honey, any plans for our wedding anniversary? Shall we watch that new movie?
M: Oh, actu ally, I’ve got a surprise for you, dear. Look!
W: Wow, an EXO concert! Oh, honey, you’re so sweet!
(Text 5)
W: How’d your exam go, Jeff ?
M: Badly. I’m sure I failed it.
W: Mine was OK. I think I passed.
M: Let’s tell Mum and Dad the good news first, then.
(Text 6)
W: You always wear such great clothes. Where did you get that jacket?
M: From the clothes factory where my dad works.
W: Oh! And your sweater?
M: Mum got that for me at the market, the one opposite the theatre in Bridger Street.
W: Yes, the shopping is really good there. What about your socks?
M: I got those when I flew to Spain.
W: You mean you bought them in the airport?
M: No, they were free socks that passengers got on the plane!
(Text 7)
W: You know we need to hire a car for our holiday, right? Well, I got some prices from the Internet.
The cheapest one is $110 but it could be a bit small. There’s a bigger car for $130.
M: Eric said he paid $100 last month and the car was fine. I think we could use his car hire company.
W: OK, I agree. Why don’t you call Eric?
M: I’ll call him right now. Shall I book it then?
W: I can do it this afternoon if you give me the information.
(Text 8)
W: Why do you want to work with us at Camp Elizabeth?
M: Well, your company has a good reputation. I know some people who have been to your camps and they say everything was well-organized.
W: Mm, good. What qualities do you think are important for this kind of job?
M: Well, I think you certainly must have patience — a lot of patience! That's the most important.
Another thing is interest, and, well, I suppose you also have to be very careful.
W: OK. Are there any questions you would like to ask me?
M: Just one thing. Could you tell me whether you provide rooms for people working at the camp? W: Yes, of course. Most monitors have their own rooms but some will have to share.
M: What about the pay?
W: The average salary is $24,000 a year.
M: OK, I see.
(Text 9)
W: Have you done your homework yet, Logan?
M: Do you mean for our History of Art test, Ava?
W: I mean the project about Fraser Island for our geography class.
M: Oh no! I haven’t even begun it.
W: Well, I can help. I’ve already got some good information.
M: Great! From where? The Internet?
W: I haven’t looked online yet. No, my uncle visited the island and told me all about it. He’s going to give me a magazine article too.
M: That’s lucky. Can we work together on the project on Wednesday?
W: I can’t then, and Tuesday’s no good. How about Thursday?
M: Fine ... When must this project be finished by?
W: The end of the month.
M: So we’ve only got seven days.
W: That’s right. But we can finish it in two evenings, I think.
M: OK. Shall we write about the rainforest? We can choose, can’t we?
W: Yes, but I’ve got more information about the lakes, actually. Let’s do that. Or the wildlife? M: That might be hard. No, your first idea sounds best. What shall I do?
W: Download a map, and I’ll get some more information and find some photos to add to it.
M: Great!
