Step 1 Warming-up
1. Show some pictures of birthday and say what they are.
2. Match the words with the pictures.
3. Read the words after the teacher.
4. Introduce the new words.
5. Read the new words after the teacher.
Step 2 Listening practice.
1. Look at the pictures in Activity 1.
2. Play the recording through once while they just listen.
3. Ask the students to listen to the recording.
4. Play the recording again, then they can number the pictures.
5. Call back the answer from the whole class and check the answer.
Step 3 Work in pairs.
1. Read through the words and expressions and have the students repeat them. Make sure they understand them.

Step 9 Grammar
现在进行时:表示正在进行的动作或状态。

1. 构成:助动词be+动词的现在分词形式( -ing 形式)e.g.
I am talking with a boy. 我在同一个男孩说话。

She is listening to me .她在听我说。

We are eating. 我们在吃。

2. 动词的现在分词的变化规则:(动词-ing 的构成)
1) 一般在词尾加ing,如:read-reading, look-looking, play-playing, eat-eating
2) 以不发音的结尾的词先把去掉再加,如:take-taking have-having
3) 以一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音结尾的词,应双写最后的辅音字母,再加-ing,如:sit-sitting, run-running, get-getting, swim-swimming, shop-shopping , put-putting, set-setting, stop-stopping, begin-beginning
4)特殊lie-lying
3. 现在进行时的各种句式:
1) 肯定句:
They are waiting for buses.
主语+be +动词-ing+...
2) 否定句:
They are not (aren’t) waiting for buses.
主语+be +not +动词-ing+...
3) 一般疑问句:
Are they waiting for buses?
Yes, they are./No, they aren’t.
4) 特殊疑问句:
特殊疑问词+一般疑问句?
What are they waiting for?
They are waiting for buses.

现在进行时(1)
1. 定义:表示现在正在进行的动作。

2. 构成:be + 动词的现在分词。

Be (am is are) 随着人称、数的变化而变化。

1) 动词后面直接加ing: do →doing buy →buying
2) 以e结尾的动词去e加ing : have →having take →taking
3) 以重读闭音节结尾的单词,双写最后一个字母,然后加ing:
run→running swim →swimming
4) 特殊形式的变化:lie →lying
4. 现在进行时的否定句结构:sb. + be not + doing
e.g. I’m not visiting my friends now.
He isn’t writing a postcard.
5. 现在进行时的一般疑问句结构:be + sb. + doing + 其他?
e.g. Is she enjoying her visit?
Are they buying postcards?
6. 常与现在进行时态连用的词:now, listen, look 等。

e.g.
1. I’m readi ng now. 我现在正在读书。

2. Listen! She is singing.听, 她正在唱歌。

3. Look! My parents are watering the flowers. 看, 我的父母亲正在浇花。

Step 3 Work in pairs
1. Look at the picture.
2. Ask and answer: What can you see? What are they doing?
