One day a letter brought Andy a new job. This job changed both his feeling about
animals and his way of hunting. The letter said: “I want to write a story about bighorn sheep.I need pictures to go with my story. Will you get pictures of the sheep for me?”
Andy's two sons wanted their father to take the job.“We will help you!” they said.Bighorn sheep are very wild.Andy knew it would be hard to get their pictures.“But why not try?” they said.
For days,Andy and his sons tried to get their pictures. They did not want the sheep to hear or see them,so they walked softly. They hid behind rocks, but the sheep always ran away.
Then one day,Andy and his sons walked around a big rock. They met some sheep face to face. But they didn't run!“Now I know why the sheep run away,”Andy said.“They run because we come up behind them. From now on,we will stay where they can see us.”
The next day,Andy saw some sheep right out in the open.He and his sons walked towards them. They did not worry to hide, but they did walk slowly. They knew that any fast move would frighten them away.
“Don't look direct at the sheep,”Andy said.“Wild animals do not like to be looked at.They will run away.” They l ooked off to this side and to that side, and they walked closer and closer. And soon they were close enough to get good clear pictures.

To us,it seems so natural to put up an umbrella to keep the water off when it rains. But actually the umbrella was not invented as protection against the rain. Its first use was as a shade against the sun!
Nobody knows who first invented it,but the umbrella was used in very ancient times.Probably the first to use it were the Chinese in the 11th century BC.
We know that the umbrella was used in ancient Egypt and Babylon as a sunshade. And there was a strange thing connected with its use: it became a symbol of honor. In the Far East in ancient times, the umbrella was allowed to be used only by royal people or by those in high class.
In Europe, the Greeks were the first to use the umbrella as a sunshade. And the umbrella was commonly used in ancient Greece. But it is believed that the first persons in Europe to use the umbrella as protection against the rain were the ancient Romans.
During the Middle Ages, the use of the umbrella practically disappeared. Then it appeared again in Italy in the late sixteenth century. And again it was considered as a symbol of power.By 1680,the umbrella appeared in France and later in England.By the eighteenth century, the umbrella was used against the rain in all parts of Europe.
Umbrellas have not changed much in style during all this time, though they have become much lighter in weight. It wasn't until the twentieth century that women's umbrellas began to be made in different kinds of colors.

Teachers have always had to face the problem of students cheating, whether in a public school or a private school, whether among the low-achieving students or straight A students. Why do students cheat?
The main reason that students cheat is the high pressure from family.Students want their parents or grandparents to feel proud of them,or at least not to be disappointed in them.Another main reason is that it's likely to get the correct answer rather than considering students' abilities in school. As a result, what students care most is only scores. In addition, some students cheat simply because they're busy or lazy.
Cheating can help you get ahead when it works and it is easy to do.The cheaters get good grades without spending much time studying. Some people think cheating makes difficult things seem easy.Cheating is a way for them to win and get what they want now.Honesty or dishonesty is meaningless if they win. They easily see the advantages in cheating, but often ignore the dangers in playing by their own rules instead of society's.
Cheating successfully once often leads to cheating again and again. It can quickly become a habit that turns into a lifestyle.Without cheating, cheaters become afraid of failure. That is to say,it prevents the students from getting the chance to experience the achieving process. What's more, students who cheat may feel worried about getting caught.Whether they are caught or not, these kids may feel guilty or embarrassed.Research has shown that not being able to experience trying hard directly affects one's self-confidence.Research has also shown that low self-esteem is the main cause of sadness.
So cheating is like using drugs—it feels good at the moment but it has rather bad effects.
The best way to teach our students is to put cheating out of their mind and love learning truly,to help them experience the satisfaction that comes from the knowledge as well as the self-confidence.There's an old saying that cheaters never win and winners never cheat.Kids who don't cheat are true winners because when they win, they do it honestly.

This morning I woke up being a little bit worried. Too many unlucky things happened and I needed to make many decisions. I decided to go for a walk and try to relax. On the way, I kept repeating to my self “Don’t stop being kind”. Others may have worse situations than me. I already felt better when walking in the park enjoying the beautiful trees and the smiles to and from strangers. I decided to go shopping on my way back.
After paying, I sat down for a while and got a coffee. An elderly man sat next to me and started talking very loudly. I noticed that he had hearing aids (助听器)in both ears. He had a coffee too. I tried talking with him but I realized he could not understand anything. I stayed anyway and he told me about his difficulties with hearing, his son who worked in the supermarket and that he was at the age of 89! He felt happy to still be able to do the shopping on his own.
He said he liked talking to people and he apologized many times. I told him it was lovely to talk to him and after a while I said goodbye, shook his hands and wished him a good day. He was so happy and grateful. He thanked me many times and the last thing he said was “Thank you for listening”. I thought the whole point was “I just stayed and listened”.。
