Lesson 47: Some News About English

2. Inspire the students learning interest in the ways of teamwork in the class.
3. Enable students to read the news about English.
◆教学情景导入
Good morning, class. We can get some information from the Internet, the radio, the TV, or newspapers. Do you like reading newspapers? I like reading newspapers very much. I can learn a lot of knowledge from newspapers. There are many interesting articles in newspapers. Li Ming’s teacher has an article from a newspaper. What is it about? Let’s read .
◆教学过程设计
Step 1. The teacher asks someone to say a piece of news in English. Let some other students report news in English. The others listen carefully and then report it in Chinese.
Step 2. And then let the students to discuss where the news comes from. Some students say it comes from North, East, West and South. So that’s why it is called news.
Step 3. Ask the students to listen to the text with these questions.
T: Where is John from? S: ……
T: How do many people learn English? S: ……
T: Why is education so important? S: ……
T: What does “a door to the world” mean? S: ……
Step 4. Ask the students to read the text and then explain some language points to help them to understand the text better. encourage sb. to do sth./ learn to do sth./
Step 5. Let the students read the text silently in class. Then ask some students to read the text in front of the class. The others listen carefully to make sure they have correct pronunciation and intonation.
Step 6. Come to “Let’s Do It!”. They can find information about English language and culture in town, city and at home. Search the information and compare with your classmates. Let’s see who has a better neighborhood.
Step 7. Homework. Search more information about English on the Internet.

●教学反思
提高教学质量是一项工程，而教师在这项工程中起到了主力军的作用，因此我要求自己不仅要做好教，更要做好自我学习，以待迎接更高一层的挑战。

只有教师的水平提高了，课上的生动了，才能真正的吸引住学生眼球，以防学生的成绩滑坡和两级分化。

因此，我利用业余时间阅读各类书籍《初中英语教与学》、《希望英语》、《疯狂英语》等，为自己充电，坚持学习英语，吸收新知识、新观点，新的教学方式。

其次，积极参加学校组织的培训学习，如参加县举办的新课程交流会，校本培训，上网观看优质课，积极与同事交流讨论，从而把所学的知识转化为实践，提高自我的教学水平。
