The really things that make people closer is affection between friends.People cannot get online all day long,and they have to go back to real ing the tools makes us convenient and easy to contact others,but relying the Internet will estrange the people.
For example,I study abroad and chat with my parents on QQ,but compared to a warm embrace,or helping my parents do housework,which method,direct or indirect,do you think is closer?Besides the Internet,we can send a written letter,give a present or keep our parents company.Virtual and indirect network will only make people more estranged.

I want to deepen my standard.When people lose the trust in a certain friend through surfing the Internet,they will have the feeling that,they don't need this friend,even they don't need such kind of human relations.So here is our deeper standard:in order to judge whether people are closer or more estranged,is to say,whether their needs for human communication in reality are increased or reduced. In my first statement I mentioned the two characteristics of the Internet,and now let's talk about the three functions of Internet.Here are my three arguments:
The first argument,the great convenience Internet provides reduce the people's dependence to reality.People can get various information around the world just sitting at home.The developments of blog,SNS make young people enjoy virtual friendship,and reduce the needs for communication with friends in reality.People gain independence,but estrange their friends.
The second argument,the entertainment Internet brings us reduce people's needs for human relations in reality.People have limited time and energy.Just as what I said at the very beginning of the first statement,When people put the major energy on surfing Internet,the importance of communication in reality must be ignored.People gain entertainment from Internet,but estrange their friends.
The third argument,the easy communication Internet provides reduces the needs for friends in reality.The communicative mechanism of Internet is incomplete.It is lacking in the emotional exchanges which are expressed by body language,tones,eye contacts,or expressions.Without emotional communications,people cannot be really close.So they just enjoy virtual happiness from the Internet,but estrange their friends in reality.。
