Thoughts on the design:
本节课是以说和写为主的语言综合技能训练课,首先以一段简短的电影为话题,导入文学评论的写作方法。

让学生六人一组操练和交换有关意见和观点。

其次,重点围绕文学评论这个主题,分析文学评论的写作特点,并在课堂上让学生选择文学作品限时操练和讲评。

本节课的难点在于课堂时间的分配与把握。

如果时间有限,可以让学生在课内完成文学评论的框架和基本观点并及时点评。

而形成书面上的文章可作为课外作业。

Teaching aims:
In this part, students will practise in groupshow to write a review. And they are expected to apply the tips practically by writing a literary review of a book or story which students would like to read.
Step 1 Lead-in
Let students watch a short movie and ask some questions:
Do you like it?
Have you ever seen it?
It’s Titanic, a review of a classic. Then ask students to answer the question:
How do we write a review of a book or story?
One or two students are expected to answer it.
Show some tips on the screen:
Tense: simple present/present perfect
Structure: P1 title, author, category, setting
P2 brief outline of the plot/important characters/character development
P3 themes, symbols
P4 your own opinion

本节课的导入,以了解有关文学评论写作的建议着手。

学生在对此有所了解的基础上,可以以“脑力风暴”的形式做进一步的拓展。

Step 2 Preparation for writing a review
The whole class will be divided into eight groups. Ask each group to choose a number. And each numberrepresents a book or story. Students will work in groups and have a discussion to communicate the views with each other according to the book or story. They will make a review and decide that one or two of them will show their teamworks to the whole class. Students will have ten minutes around to prepare for it. I may walk around the classroom to help and make sure that students all participate in the discussion.

文学评论的写作准备时间虽短,但提供的文学作品学生熟悉,所以在探讨形成文学评论
时,可让学生结合已知文化背景来各抒己见。

文学评论形成过程中也可由教师帮助学生构架。

确保让每个学生积极参与讨论。

Step 3 Speaking
Each group will show their review orally. Encourage students to give their ideas freely and accept any reasonable opinions.

因为文学评论的写作特点明了,所以每组学生自由表达的时间控制在5分钟左右即可。

最重要的是激发人人参与。

教师参与讨论时,可以有意识地选择相对能力较薄弱的小组,多些鼓励。

每组发言结束后,老师做适当点评。

Step 4 Writing to expand view
There are lots of famous works in the world. Can you tell me some of them?
One of them will give me his/her answer.
Then ask students to look at the screen and introduce some famous works in the world to them.
I may ask several questions:
Have you ever read them? Do you know the authors ,the characters or the plots?
Students may say YES OR NO.
Then if you want to read one of them, let’s start from a literary review.
I believe you will be good writers because some of you have got some published works.
Show them on the screen.
Encourage students to be good writers and write good reviews of books or stories.
Ask students to write the first two paragraphs of the review with the information they gathered in groups.
Ask one student to write out his or her part of review on the blackboard. Have all the rest of the class modify it after they have finished their own.

因为是课堂限时写作训练,所以教师要控制好时间。

由于有前面的阅读及要点笔记,学生在写作内容上是比较明确的,而文章的篇章结构也已一一解释,所以此处要重点培养学生组词造句的能力,在语言的准确与精炼方面,精雕细琢一番。

课堂写作控制在十分钟左右,要给学生较充分的时间讨论黑板上的学生的习作,促进自主学习能力的提高。

每组文学评论的整体部分可作为家庭作业,在后面一节课中进行点评。

Step 5 Homework
1. Please finish off your review on the paper after class.
2. Your papers should be handed in tomorrow.。
