The tie-dye process includes two distinct steps, namely ligation and staining. Using tools such as yarn, thread, and rope, artisans tie, sew, bind, or clip cloth to create intricate patterns that resist dye penetration. This results in fabrics with the tied areas retaining their original color and the rest being dyed evenly. The final product showcases an array of unevenly colored halos and folds with multiple layers. It is important to note that the tighter the tie, the better the stain protection. Tie-dye can produce not only regular patterned fabrics but also figuratively exquisite artware with complex figures and various colors, exhibiting both naivety and innovation.

Researching Music Visualization for Traditional Pattern Music with a Focus on the "24 Solar Terms" Theme ——Using "Four Seasons" as an Example赵霏越/上海大学Zhao Feiyue/Shanghai University摘 要:以弘扬我国传统文化“二十四节气”为目的,选择当中包含的物候特点,节日传统及民俗事物等内容,以传统纹样为载体,通过音乐可视化设计的形式进行视听觉综合创作。

Abstract: In order to promote China's traditional culture of the "24 solar terms," this study employs music visualization design as a comprehensive audio-visual approach, utilizing natural phenomena, festival traditions, and folk affairs as thematic elements. Traditional patterns are employed as carriers for visual representation. The background melody chosen is the pure music track "Four Seasons," which relates to the theme, and its audio is processed using tools such as Pr software. Grasshopper parametric modeling tools are utilized to generate traditional patterns and achieve synchronization between sound and visual animation effects. Traditional Chinese colors and national-style decorative elements are selected to enhance the visual aesthetics of the imagery. Finally, appropriate explanatory text is inserted to complete the design process. This paper not only explores two-dimensional music visualization presentations but also interprets two approaches in music visualization design: one based on music analysis and expression, while the other integrates multiple elements including music.
