Who deserves help?(谁值得帮助呢?)Many years ago, there lived a very rich man who wanted to do something for the people of his town.but first he wanted to find out whether they deserved his help,so he placed a large stone in the centre of the main road into town.then he bid behind a tree and waited,soon an old man came long with his cow."who put this stone in the centre of the way?"said the man ,but he did not try to remove the stone, instead,with some difficulty he passed around the stone and continued on his way.anther man came along and did the samething,then anther came ,and anther. all of them complained about the stone in the centre of the road, but not one of them tried to remove te in the afternoon, a young man came along , he saw the stone and said, :"the night will be very dark, some neighbors will come along in the dark and will fall against the stone."the young man then tried to remove the stone , he pushed and pulled with all his strength to move it aside.but imagine his suprise when under the stone he found a bag full of money and this message:"This money is for the thoughtful person who removes this stone from the road, thatperson deserves this help."译文：在多年以前，居住着一个非常富有的人，他想为城镇里的人们做些事。

The wisdom that happiness makes possible lies in clear perception, not fogged by anxiety nor dimmed by desp air and boredom, and without the blind spots caused by fear.Active happiness not mere satisfaction or contentment-often comes s uddenly, like an April shower or the unfolding of a bud. Then you discover what kind of wisdom has accompanied it. The grass is gr eener, bird songs are sweeter, the shortcomings of your friends are more understandable and more forgivable. Happiness is like a pair of eyeglasses correcting your spiritual vision.Nor are the insights of happiness limited to what is near around yo u. Unhappy, with your thoughts turned in upon your emotional woe s, your vision is cut short as though by a wall. Happy, the wall cr umbles.The long vista is there for the seeing. The ground at your feet, the world about you-people, thoughts, emotions, pressures-are now fitte d into the larger scene. Every thing assumes a fairer proportion.
