Each one is unique with different facial features and everything. It's nuts! There are thousands of them standing in underground pits. Walking through the pits was like stepping back in time. I couldn't believe people way back then could carve such detailed statues out of clay and then bake them. They must have worked super hard!In Beijing, we also went to Tiananmen Square, which is this ginormous plaza in the city center. It's one of the biggest public squares in the world! We saw the Forbidden City too, which was the grand palace where the emperors of China's old dynasties lived and ruled from. No regular people were allowed inside for a long time, so that's how it got its name.
