One possible solution to the problem is to encourage students to start business of their own after graduation. That is so-called self-employment. On one hand, self-employment provides many graduates with opportunities to enrich themselves, better themselves and fulfill themselves. On the other hand, it can effectively relieve the government of the burden of offering adequate positions for university graduates.

专业四级英语 写作 专四写作 TEM4 Revision of Writing
TEM4 Revision of WritingGeneral Strategies: Students should be familiar with the features of different types of writing: description, exposition and argumentation.Description is painting a picture in words of a person, a place, an object or a scene.A description is developed through details. The writer should choose details that can help bring out the dominant characteristics or outstanding quality of a person or a thing to be described. The irrelevant details should be left out.Model Writingsa.DescriptionMy Aunt Emily / My Favorite RelativeOf all my relatives, I like my aunt Emily the best. She is my mother’s youngest sister. She has never married, and she lives alone in a small village near Bath. Now she is inher late fifties, but she is still quite young in spirit. She has a fair complexion, thick brown hair and dark brown eyes. She has a kind face, and when you meet her, the first thing you notice is her lovely, warm smile. Her face is a little wrinkled now, but I think she is still rather attractive. She is the sort of person you can always go to if you have a problem. She likes reading and gardening, and she goes for long walks over the hills with her dog. Obviously, she is a very active person. Either she is making something, or mending something, or doing something to help others. She is extremely generous, but not very tolerant with people who do not agree with her. I hope that I am as happy and contented as she is when I am her age. Questions:1. What is the title of this passage?(My Aunt Emily / My Favorite Relative) 2. What does the speaker’s aunt look like?(This question asks for a physical description/appearances.)Which of the following choices are mentioned? The color of her skin/white skin, her hair, her eyes, her height?3. What is the speaker’s aunt like? (This question asks about a person’s character or appearance or both.) kind, nice, warm-hearted, obliging, generous, sometimes not tolerant, happy and contented.b.ExpositionExposition means expounding or explaining. The purpose of exposition is to inform or explore so that people can understand something such as the process of a certain thing, the advantages and disadvantages of a certain thing, the causes of a natural or social phenomenon, the planning of a project, a solution to a problem. Methods used in exposition: definition, illustration, process, classification anddivision, comparison and contrast, an analysis of the causes and effects. The most important thing is to make a point clear. How to write a good exposition?1.Prepare enough material so that abstractdiscussion can be illustrated by examples.2.Present facts and views in proper order–in the order of time (chronological order), space (spatial order) or a logical sequence.3.Try to make exposition intelligible andreadable. If it is possible, the exposition should be interesting and moving.Model WritingThe division of labor is made according to sexes in this small village. Men are expected to support their families by doing all the work in the fields, by caring for the cattle, by cutting wood and by carrying on all the large transactions in buying and selling. When a male villager is at home, hisactivities consist of providing the household with wood and water, making or repairing furniture or work tools, making repairs on the house and picking fruit. Local government is also in the hands of the men. Women’s work centers on the care of the family and the house. They cook, clean, wash, iron clothes, do the daily marketing, and care for the children. Many women raise chickens, turkeys and pigs, and some of them grow fruit, vegetables and flowers to supplement the family income. Women do a great deal of buying and selling on a small scale, and they control the family purse. In this village, women are not expected to work in the fields, and both sexes look down upon the women of the neighboring villages who do agricultural work, carry heavy loads of corn or wear men’s hats.Questions:1. What is the central topic of this passage?2. What should the men do in this village?(Take some simple notes.)3. What should the women do in this village? (Take some simple notes.)4. What do the villagers show contempt for?c.ArgumentationThe purpose of argumentation is to convince. Argumentation tries to make the reader agree with its point of view and support it. Argumentation often makes use of the other types of writing. Exposition is very closely related to argumentation: argumentation is actually exposition with an additional purpose of persuading and convincing. (We are going to make a further study into argumentation in the coming weeks)Word Limit: about 200 wordsIncrease the language input: more facts, more examples, more figures, moreinformation, more ideas and variousstructures。

Introductions:Sample 1:I consider China will lose its nick name in the future. As we all know, bicycle is the kind of transport that people attach more significance in exercising and hobby than a traffic tool. With increasingly heavy traffic and pressure more and more people live away from the city. Consequently, I think that China won't be the kingdom of bike anymore.Sample 2:As we know, China was once called "the kingdom of bicycles". But now, China is enchanted with cars. From where I stand, I don't believe China could keep this nickname forever.Sample 3:With the rapid development of economy, Chinese'life have been improving and many families can afford a car. We have to admit that cars become more and more popular, but itdoesn't mean the nickname of China "Kingdom of bicycles"will become history in the future. Sample 4:With the development of science and technology, the living standard enhanced. Cars increase rapidly as well. As people say, China is enchanted with cars, even some people are worried about that the nickname--the kingdom of bicycle will become history in the future. However, I don't think so. I think that the nickname never becomes history and it will reach its peak one day. Conclusion:Sample 1:The change of this nickname is an inevitable consequence of the economic development. Sample 2:In short, according to China's current status, China's nickname "the kingdom of bicycles" will not become history in the future. The usage ofcars is increasing, but bicycles can't replace by cars.Sample 3:There is no denying the fact that it is impossible for anyone not to love cars more than bicycles. But I believe all the advantages of bicycles can be glimpsed and felt. Thus, Chinese nickname "the kingdom of bicycles" can never, ever be taken away.Sample 4:In conclusion, the bicycle will never be obsolete, which accounts for its various attractions including cutting down congestion and lowering pollution, etc. What is worth mentioning is the latest policy that the government decided to prohibit the scooter on the road, which will certainly recreate a better environment for bicycles. Do you think so?举例子(Example/Illustration):例子可以在文章开头(即所谓hook)举,从而引出论点;Unit 1 Text IIUnit 3 Text IUnit 4 Text I, Text II例子也可以在主体部分举。

• As far as political views are concerned, people fall into three categories. First are the conservative people. Conservatives are opposed to sudden or great changes. Second are the liberal people. These people are in favor of progress and reform. But their opinions often seem too idealistic. Third are the moderate people. The moderates keep everything within reasonable limits. They are more practical in this hard world. In my opinion, most people seem to belong to this group. • 本段把人按政治观点分为三类:保守派(conservative people)、自由派(liberal people)和温和派(moderate people),并对他们各自的特征进行了简要的分析。

The important reason of it is the economy of Chinese. The use of bicycle in China is widely because people in China have not high wage. They can only afford a bicycle, and they have no money to buy a car which is too expensive. So Chinese usually buy a bicycle, and use it to go to work, or go to travel and so on. The other reason is the large population of China. All these made the bicycle become the important means of transport. The bicycle, compared to the car, is not too expensive and it is easy to learn and to use and it can save the surface of putting it. It doesn’t ask to build the garage like car. This point is very important to China, because of the lack of land. It isn’t too expensive, so Chinese can afford it. It doesn’t need any oil, and it can’t cause the polusion. All of these are the good needs compared to the car.In the future, bicycle will be widely used. And it will be in good demand. People will produce much more modern bicycles.Score: 14Bicycles are very popular in China. Almost every family in the city has two or three bicycles. During the rush hour, you can see that thousands of people -- man and woman, old and young -- ride their bicycles to work and study. That is why China is called “the kingdom of bicycles”.注:1. 第一句总写,第二句和第三句分写,最后总写。

Expository writing is a type of writing
Expository writing is a type of writing, the purpose of which is to inform, explain, describe, or define the author's subject to the reader.Expository text is meant to deposit information and is the most frequently used type of writing by students in colleges and universities. A well-written exposition remains focused on its topic and lists events in chronological order. Examples of this type of writing are cooking instructions, driving directions and instructions on performing a task. Key words such as first, after, next, then and last usually signal sequential writing.Second-person pronouns may be used in such writing, if needed; for example, in a how-to essay a writer may choose to personalize the instructions with "you." However, the use of first-person pronouns should be avoided. Expository essays will not reveal the opinion of the writer.Expository writing appears in and is not limited to letters, newsletters, definitions, instructions, guidebooks, catalogues, newspaper articles, magazine articles, manuals, pamphlets, reports and research papers. The general characteristics of expository writing include:∙focus on main topic∙logical supporting facts∙details, explanations, and examples∙strong organization∙clarity∙unity and coherence∙logical order∙smooth transitionsWisdom is knowledge of what is true or right coupled with just judgment as to action; sagacity(精明), discernment(洞察力), or insight. In general, these schools have emphasized various combinations of the following: knowledge, understanding, experience, discipline, discretion(慎重), and intuitive understanding, along with a capacity to apply these qualities well towards finding solutions to problems. It 的用法:一、作人称代词,可用来代替人、物或事。
