Legends of the fall 秋日传奇台词对话
Susannah:Do I? Yeah, I suppose I do.
Alfred:Susannah, he does love you.
Colonel Ludlow:Alfred! She's to be your brother's wife.
Alfred:Yes, though you might better remind him of that.
14. [Alfred's letter to Tristan]
Alfred:You have won her. I am bringing her home.
15. One Stab:It is hard to tell of happiness. Time goes by and we feel safe too soon.
Colonel Ludlow:He's not here to defend himself.
Alfred:No, he's not but I see you are here to defend him and what is his. Even though he's abandoned her and you. And I won't even speak of who elab:She was like the water that freezes inside a rock and breaks it apart. It was no more her fault than it is the fault of the water when the rock shatters.
12. Alfred:Don't mind my brother. Your dog has more breeding than he has.

GeneralA 100Introduction101 This offshore standard provides principles, technical re-quirements and guidance for the structural design of offshore structures, based on the Working Stress Design (WSD) meth-od.102 This standard has been written for general world-wide application. Statutory regulations may include requirements in excess of the provisions by this standard depending on size, type, location and intended service of the offshore unit or in-stallation.103 The standard is organised with general sections contain-ing common requirements and sections containing specific re-quirement for different type of offshore units. In case of deviating requirements between general sections and the ob-ject specific sections, requirements of the object specific sec-tions shall apply.A 200Objectives201 The objectives of this standard are to:—provide an internationally acceptable level of safety by de-fining minimum requirements for structures and structural components (in combination with referred standards, rec-ommended practices, guidelines, etc.)—serve as a contractual reference document between suppli-ers and purchasers—serve as a guideline for designers, suppliers, purchasers and regulators—specify procedures and requirements for offshore struc-tures subject to DNV certification and classification.A 300Scope and application301 This standard is applicable to the following types of off-shore structures:—column-stabilised units—self-elevating units—tension leg platforms—deep draught floaters.302 For utilisation of other materials, the general design principles given in this standard may be used together with rel-evant standards, codes or specifications covering the require-ments to materials design and fabrication.303 The standard is applicable to structural design of com-plete units including substructures, topside structures and ves-sel hulls.304 This standard gives requirements for the following: —design principles—structural categorisation—material selection and inspection principles—loads and load effect analyses—design of steel structures and connections—special considerations for different types of units. Requirements for foundation design are given in DNV-OS-C101.A 400Other than DNV codes401 Other recognised codes or standards may be applied pro-vided it is shown that the codes and standards, and their appli-cation, meet or exceed the level of safety of the actual DNV standard.402 In case of conflict between requirements of this standard and a reference document other than DNV documents, the re-quirements of this standard shall prevail.403 Where reference is made to codes other than DNV doc-uments, the latest revision of the documents shall be applied, unless otherwise specified.404 When code checks are performed according to other than DNV codes, the usage factors as given in the respective code shall be used.A 500Classification501 Classification principles, procedures and applicable class notations related to classification services of offshore units are specified in the DNV Offshore Service Specifications given in Table A1.502 Documentation requirements for classification are given by DNV-RP-A202.B. ReferencesB 100General101 The DNV documents in Table B1 are referred to in the present standards and contain acceptable methods for fulfilling the requirements in this standard.102 The latest valid revision of the DNV reference docu-ments in Table B2 applies. Alterna-tive courses of action are allowable under the standard where agreed between contracting parties but shall be justified and documented.103 May: Indicates a permission, or an option, which is per-mitted as part of conformance with the standard.C 200Terms201 Accidental condition: When the unit is subjected to ac-cidental loads such as collision, dropped objects, fire explo-sion, etc.202 Accidental loads: Loads which may occur as a result of accident or exceptional events, e.g. collisions, explosions, dropped objects.203 Atmospheric zone: The external surfaces of the unit above the splash zone.204 Cathodic protection: A technique to prevent corrosion of a steel surface by making the surface to be the cathode of an electrochemical cell.205 Characteristic load: The reference value of a load to be used in the determination of load effects. The characteristic load is normally based upon a defined fractile in the upper end of the distribution function for load.206 Characteristic strength: The reference value of structur-al strength to be used in the determination of the design strength. The characteristic strength is normally based upon a 5% fractile in the lower end of the distribution function for re-sistance.207 Characteristic value: The representative value associat-ed with a prescribed probability of not being unfavourably ex-ceeded during the applicable reference period.208 Classic spar: Shell type hull structure.209 Classification Note: The Classification Notes cover proven technology and solutions which is found to represent good practice by DNV, and which represent one alternative for satisfying the requirements given in the DNV Rules or other codes and standards cited by DNV. The Classification Notes will in the same manner be applicable for fulfilling the require-ments in the DNV Offshore Standards.210 Coating: Metallic, inorganic or organic material applied to steel surfaces for prevention of corrosion.211 Column-stabilised unit: A floating unit that can be relo-cated. A column-stabilised unit normally consists of a deck structure with a number of widely spaced, large diameter, sup-porting columns that are attached to submerged pontoons. 212 Corrosion allowance: Extra wall thickness added during design to compensate for any anticipated reduction in thick-ness during the operation.213 Damaged condition: The unit condition after accidental damage.214 Deep draught floater (DDF): A floating unit categorised with a relative large draught. The large draught is mainly intro-duced to obtain reduced wave excitation in heave and suffi-ciently high eigenperiod in heave such that resonant responses in heave can be omitted or minimised.215 Design brief: An agreed document presenting owner's technical basis, requirements and references for the unit design and fabrication.216 Design temperature: The design temperature for a unit is the reference temperature for assessing areas where the unit can be transported, installed and operated. The design temper-ature is to be lower or equal to the lowest mean daily tempera-ture in air for the relevant areas. For seasonal restricted operations the lowest mean daily temperature in air for the sea-son may be applied.217 Driving voltage: The difference between closed circuit anode potential and the protection potential.218 Dry transit: A transit where the unit is transported on a heavy lift unit from one geographical location to another. 219 Dynamic upending: A process where seawater is filled or flooded into the bottom section of a horizontally floating DDF hull and creating a trim condition and subsequent water filling of hull or moonpool and dynamic upending to bring the hull in vertical position.220 Environmental loads: Loads directly and indirectly due to environmental phenomena. Environmental loads are not a necessary consequence of the structures existence, use and treatments. All external loads which are responses to environ-mental phenomena are to be regarded as environmental loads, e.g. support reactions, mooring forces, and inertia forces. 221 Expected loads and response history: Expected load and response history for a specified time period, taking into ac-count the number of load cycles and the resulting load levels and response for each cycle.222 Expected value: The most probable value of a load dur-ing a specified time period.223 Fail to safe: A failure shall not lead to new failure, which may lead to total loss of the structure.DNV-OS-D101Marine Machinery Systems andEquipmentDNV-OS-E301Position MooringDNV-OS-F201Dynamic RisersDNV-RP-C103Column Stabilised UnitsDNV-RP-C201Buckling Strength of PlatedStructuresDNV-RP-C202Buckling Strength of Shells DNV-RP-C203Fatigue Strength Analysis ofOffshore Steel Structures Classification Note 30.1Buckling Strength Analysis ofBars and Frames, and SphericalShellsClassification Note 30.4 FoundationsClassification Note 30.5 Environmental Conditions andEnvironmental Loads Classification Note 31.5Strength Analysis of MainStructures of Self-elevating Units Table B2 Other referencesReference TitleAISC-ASD Manual of Steel Construction ASDAPI RP 2A – WSD with supplement 1Planning, Designing and Constructing Fixed Offshore Platforms – Working Stress DesignAPI RP 2T Planning, Designing and Constructing TensionLeg PlatformsBS 7910Guide on methods for assessing the acceptability offlaws in fusion welded structuresNACE TPC Publication No. 3. 元宵节的来历英语作文初一

元宵节的来历英语作文初一

元宵节的来历(英语作文)IntroductionThe Lantern Festival, also known as Yuanxiao Festival, is a traditional Chinese festival that dates back over 2000 years. It is celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, marking the end of the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) period. In this essay, we will explore the origin and traditions associated with the Lantern Festival and its significance.Origin of the Lantern FestivalThe Lantern Festival has its roots in ancient legends and folk customs. One popular legend is about the Jade Emperor in heaven deciding to destroy a village on earth by setting it ablaze. However, the villagers were warned by a wise man who advised them to hang red lanterns, set off fireworks, and make loud noises to trick the heavenly soldiers into thinking that the village was already on fire. This clever plan worked, and the village was saved.Another famous story relates to a young woman named Yuanxiao who lived during the Han Dynasty. After the fall of the Han Dynasty, the country was taken over by other rulers. Yuanxiao’s father was a loyal minister who was executed by the new emperor. Deeply saddened by her father’s death, Yuanxiao didn’t eat or sleep for days. In her dreams, her father told her to make dumplings and distribute them to the people. This became a tradition, and the dumplings were named Yuanxiao in her honor.Celebrations and TraditionsThe Lantern Festival is a time of joy and celebration. People hang beautiful lanterns of various shapes and colors outside their homes and in public places. Lantern riddles are written on the lanterns, and people compete to solve them. This tradition adds an element of fun and intellectual challenge to the festivities.Another important tradition is the lion and dragon dances. These breathtaking performances take place on the streets, attracting crowds who watch in awe. The lion dance is believed to bring good luck and drive away evil spirits. It involves performers wearing lion costumes and dancing to lively music. The dragon dance, on the other hand, involves a long dragon made of bamboo, silk, and paper. It requires great coordination and is a visual spectacle. One of the highlights of the Lantern Festival is the Tangyuan, also known as Yuanxiao. These sweet glutinous rice dumplings are filled with various ingredients like sesame, peanuts, and red bean paste. Tangyuan symbolizes family togethernessand reunion. Families gather together to make and enjoy these delicious dumplings, reinforcing the importance of family bonds.Significance of the Lantern FestivalThe Lantern Festival holds great cultural significance in Chinese society. It is a time for families to come together, bond, and enjoy each other’s company. It also marks the end of the Spring Festival and the start of a new year filled with hope, brightness, and prosperity. The release of lanterns into the sky is believed to bring good fortune and symbolize letting go of the past. Moreover, the Lantern Festival showcases the rich traditions and customs of Chinese culture. It reflects the creativity and artistic talents of the Chinese people through the ornate designs and intricate craftsmanship of the lanterns. In recent years, the Lantern Festival has gained international recognition and has been celebrated in many parts of the world. It has become a vibrant cultural event, allowing people from diverse backgrounds to appreciate and learn about Chinese traditions and customs.ConclusionThe Lantern Festival, also known as Yuanxiao Festival, is a captivating traditional festival in China. With its ancient stories, vibrant celebrations, and cultural significance, it has become an integral part of Chinese heritage. As we celebrate this festival, let us cherish the moments of joy and togetherness with our loved ones and appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture.。

Legends of the Fall

Legends of the Fall

Legends of the Fall is a 1994 film--based on the 1979 novella of the same title, by Jim Harrison--directed by Edward Zwick and starring Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins, Aidan Quinn, Julia Ormon d, Henry Thomas, and Bart the Bear. Although it won the Academy Award for Best Cinematogra phy, the film did not do as well as expected at the box office. It has since become available on D VD, with enormous success in that venue. The movie's timeframe spans from just before World War I through the Prohibition Era and into the 1920s, and it ends briefly in 1963. The film centers on the Ludlow family of Montana, inclu ding veteran of the Indian Wars Colonel Ludlow (Hopkins), his three sons Alfred (Quinn), Trista n (Pitt), and Samuel (Thomas), and the brothers' love interest Susannah (Ormond).Colonel Ludlow, sick of the betrayals the United States government has perpetrated on the Nativ e Americans, retires with his most trusted friend, a Native American serving in the cavalry, nam ed Stab. He moves his family to a remote part of Montana where he builds a large home and beg ins ranching. His wife, born and raised in the city, does not adapt well to the harsh winters of the cold country and leaves for the east coast. She does not return for many years but she and the C olonel remain married and close friends and communicate through letters. He raises his sons wit h the help of Stab who teaches them all the language of his American Indian people. It is Stab's voice that narrates the film, all in retrospect, and as an old man.Colonel Ludlow has three sons, all as different as night from day. The oldest son, Alfred, is matu re even at a young age, always responsible, and cautious. The youngest son, Samuel, is naive but educated, and constantly being watched over by his brothers. Tristan, the middle son, is wild, handsome, unapologetic, spirited, confident, and one who has studied the ancient American Ind ian traditions.Normally love dramas don't interest me, since I find them boring and predictable. This film, whi le being more than "just" a good love drama, really impressed me. Many of the scenes are quite visually beautiful, some in cinematography, others in content. As a love drama, it's moving, and at times almost poetically beautiful. It involves three men, brothers, who are all in love with the same woman. She has a relationship with each of them, but ultimately realizes that she only lov es one of them. The plot is very good, and evolves at the right pace for this type of story. Not ter ribly fast, but never stands still either. The actors all portray their respective characters well, nea rly all of them giving a perfect performance. Anthony Hopkins is great, as always. There was no t really anything in this movie that disappointed me. The ending scene involves some of the best cinematography I've ever seen. There is a very emotional scene near the end which is also one o f the most visually beautiful I've ever seen in a movie. I recommend this to most fans of love dra mas, and, to a lesser extent, fans of war dramas。

关于推广中国传统节日的英语作文

关于推广中国传统节日的英语作文全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Favorite Chinese HolidaysMy name is Xiaoming and I am 10 years old. I love learning about the many fun holidays and festivals we celebrate in China each year! There are so many interesting traditions, yummy foods, and special activities. I want to tell you about some of my favorite Chinese holidays so you can enjoy them too!Chinese New Year is probably the most famous and exciting festival we have. It happens in late January or early February based on the lunar calendar. For weeks before, my family buys new clothes, decorations like lanterns and red banners, and tons of tasty snacks. We clean our whole house from top to bottom to sweep away any bad luck before the new year.On Chinese New Year's Eve, we have a huge reunion dinner with all our relatives. My grandma makes amazing dumplings and nian gao (a sweet rice cake). After dinner, my cousins and I carry lanterns and walk through the neighborhood to look at allthe bright decorations. At midnight, we set off firecrackers and fireworks to scare away evil spirits! It's very noisy but lots of fun.For the next two weeks, we visit friends and family, giving out red envelopes with "lucky money" inside. We watch dragon dances and eat more delicious festival foods like rice balls, seeds, and candies. There are always fun shows and performances to enjoy too. I love Chinese New Year because it brings my whole family together for a big celebration of the coming year.Another one of my favorite festivals is the Qingming Festival, also called Tomb Sweeping Day. This usually happens in early April. On Qingming, we visit the graves of our ancestors to clean them, place fresh flowers, burn incense and paper money offerings. This shows respect for those who came before us.My grandparents take me and my cousins to the countryside to tend to our family burial grounds. Grandpa tells us stories about our ancestors while we pull weeds and sweep the gravesite area. Afterwards, we fly kites and have a little picnic among the spring blossoms. It's a nice way to honor our heritage while enjoying the warm weather. For the Dragon Boat Festival in late May or June, we eat special rice dumplings called zongzi wrapped in bamboo leaves. They are filled with different sweet or savory fillings like red beanpaste, salted egg yolks, pork, and more. I like the ones stuffed with roasted nuts and dried fruit. We watch exciting dragon boat races on rivers and lakes during this festival too. Racers paddle long decorated boats while beating drums to keep time. The boats have ornate dragon head and tail carvings on each end. At night, there are dazzling displays of traditional dancers wearing glowing costumes. I always look forward to the Dragon Boat Festival and those tasty zongzi dumplings! My favorite autumn festival is the Mid-Autumn or Moon Festival. We celebrate by gathering under the full harvest moon with mooncakes, pomelos, and other seasonal fruits. The mooncakes are round pastries with fillings like lotus seed paste, salted egg yolks, ham, nuts, and more. They are so rich and sweet! My grandma always tells the ancient legend of Chang'e, the lady who lives on the moon with her jade rabbit friend. We carry lanterns and light night fires in parks, admiring the bright full moon together. I love mooncake's unique flavors and seeing the smiling faces carved into their tops. The Mid-Autumn Festival reminds me of the importance of family harmony and reunion during the fall harvest season. The winter holidays of Dongzhi Festival and Laba Festival bring more interesting traditions. For Dongzhi, we celebrate the return of longer days by eating special dumplings called tang yuan and rice balls called yuan xiao. My mom knows I love all types of dumplings so we have a dumpling feast! At Laba, we make special rice porridge called laba zhou on the morning of the holiday. It contains different lucky ingredients and is supposed to bring a prosperous new year. We dress up warm and go on walks in the chilly winter air after breakfast. Some of my neighbors hand out snacks shaped like the Chinese words meaning "prosperity" and "blessing." I enjoy trying different kinds of holiday foods during the winter season. There are so many other fun Chinese festivals too, like the Lantern Festival, Duanwu Festival, and more. Each one has unique customs, foods, and activities that teach us about history and culture in an engaging way. My favorites are the ones that bring my family together to celebrate the turning of the seasons, our heritage, and each other.Festivals give us a sense of identity, community spirit, and precious bonding time. I hope more people around the world can learn about and appreciate these vibrant Chinese holiday traditions. They connect us to our ancestors while creating joyfulnew memories for the future. I feel very lucky to experience such wonderful cultural festivals every year. I can't wait to share them with my own children someday too!篇2My Favorite Chinese FestivalsHi, my name is Xiao Ming and I'm 10 years old. I love celebrating Chinese holidays and festivals with my family! There are so many fun traditions and delicious foods. I want to tell you about some of my favorite Chinese festivals.Chinese New Year is probably the most famous and important festival we celebrate. It happens sometime between late January and mid February every year. Getting ready for Chinese New Year is almost as fun as the actual holiday! A few weeks before, my mom starts cleaning our whole house from top to bottom. She says we have to sweep away all the bad luck to make room for incoming good luck. My dad puts up bright red decorations with black letters saying "Happiness" and "Wealth."On Chinese New Year's Eve, we have a huge feast with all my favorite dishes - dumplings, noodles, fish, and more! After dinner, my little sister and I get fresh new red envelopes with money inside from my parents. Then we set off firecrackers andfireworks outside to scare away any evil spirits and celebrate the new year. I love the loud popping noises and bright lights in the sky!The next day is Chinese New Year's Day. I wear my new red clothes that my grandma gave me for good luck. We have another big meal with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. Then the adults give kids like me even more red envelopes with "lucky money" inside. At the end of the night, I dump out all my envelopes and count up my cash. Last year I got over 100!A few weeks later, we celebrate the Lantern Festival on the first full moon of the new year. My mom makes special sweet rice balls filled with black sesame or peanuts and dried fruits. We go out at night to look at all the beautiful lanterns decorating the streets and temples. Some lanterns are gigantic and as tall as buildings! My favorite part is trying to solve the riddles written on the lanterns. It's like a fun game of brainteasers. In the spring, we have the Qingming Festival to honor our ancestors. My grandpa takes me and my sister to put fresh flowers and fruits on our family's graves. He tells us stories about our ancestors and why it's important to remember them. At night, we burn paper money and other paper decorations asofferings. The ashes help send our love and respect from the living world to the spirit world. My other favorite holiday is the Mid-Autumn Festival in the fall. We celebrate with mooncakes, which are dense, sweet pastries stuffed with lotus seed paste or other fillings. I like the ones with salted egg yolks inside the best! On Mid-Autumn night, my whole family sits outside under the full harvest moon. We eat mooncakes and drink tea together while admiring the bright moonlight. It's a peaceful and happy time. The Dragon Boat Festival is a fun one in late spring or early summer. My dad's friends race against each other in long skinny boats that have a dragon head at the front. They have to paddle along to the beat of loud drumming! I cheer for my dad's team while munching on sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. Sometimes I spot a real live dragon swimming in the water...just kidding! There are so many other traditional Chinese festivals too, like the Duanwu Festival, Laba Festival, Qixi Festival...the list goes on and on. Every holiday is filled with special cultural activities, decorations, foods, and family time. I feel so lucky to experience these amazing traditions.I really hope that my generation and future ones can keep celebrating our Chinese heritage. It would be so sad if these beautiful, ancient festivals disappeared. That's why it's important for kids like me to learn about their history and meanings. We need to make sure we pass these traditions down to our own children and grandchildren someday. For example, I'm teaching my little sister all about the legends behind each festival. We reenact the stories together and make holiday crafts based on the myths and folktales. I tell her why eating certain foods or doing certain rituals is symbolic. I want her to understand and appreciate the rich Chinese culture behind the fun.I also make sure to share facts about Chinese festivals with my classmates at school. On holidays, I bring in traditional snacks and decorations to show my friends. I teach them about the origins, customs, and importance of each celebration. Some of their minds are blown when they find out how ancient and meaningful these festivals really are!My best friend David's family is from Mexico. He was really interested when I told him about the Qingming Festival honoring ancestors. His culture has similar traditions of leaving offerings and celebrating loved ones who have passed away. By learningabout each other's heritage, we can understand the common roots that connect us as humans. In the future, I'd love to take Chinese cultural classes and join a student Chinese heritage club. That would allow me to dive even deeper into the festivals, their roots, and their evolutions over thousands of years of history. I could study ancient folk arts, practices, legends, and philosophies. Maybe I could even learn some festival dances, songs, or poems to perform!I really believe that promoting Chinese cultural traditions ina modern context is so important. If we Chinese people don't work hard to share and preserve our heritage, too much could be lost as societies keep developing. Rituals, arts, values, and identities could easily slip away. By actively educating others and staying connected to our roots, we can keep our vibrant culture alive and evolving for generations to come. That's why whenever my teacher asks what I want to be when I grow up, I always say, "A Chinese cultural ambassador!" I want to help spread awareness and appreciation of China's rich, ancient traditions all around the world. Our festivals teach so much wisdom, values like honoring your ancestors, myths and stories that have been passed down for ages, and so many other beautiful pieces of our identity.I'm determined to do my part in promoting and protecting our heritage however I can. And I'm extra determined when it comes to continuing the festivals! Those are the most fun and my favorite way to experience the awesome culture I was born into. With the enthusiasm of kids like me leading the way, Chinese traditions and festivals can remain vital parts of our lives for centuries more to come.篇3Celebrating Chinese Festivals is So Much Fun!Hi everyone! My name is Lingling and I'm 10 years old. I love celebrating all the traditional Chinese festivals and holidays with my family! They are so much fun and filled with awesome activities, delicious foods, and special traditions. I want to tell you about some of my favorite festivals so more people can learn about them and celebrate too!One of the most exciting festivals is Chinese New Year. It's also called the Spring Festival. This holiday lasts for 2 whole weeks and is a time for families to get together. My grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all come over for a huge reunion dinner on New Year's Eve. We have a big feast with foods likedumplings, noodles, whole steamed fish, and sweet rice balls for dessert. Yum!After dinner, we give the kids lucky red envelopes with money inside. My little brother and I also get new red clothes to wear for good luck in the new year. We're not allowed to cry or fight during the festival or it's bad luck. No problem - I'm having way too much fun to cry! My favorite part is the fireworks and firecrackers at midnight to scare away evil spirits. The loud bangs and bright lights in the dark night sky look so cool!Another festival I love is the Lantern Festival. It happens on the 15th day of the new year, when the first full moon of the year appears. My mom helps me make a colorful lantern out of paper, bamboo strips, and a candle inside. We hang up lantern riddles too with codes to solve. In the evening, we go out on the streets to look at the beautiful glowing lanterns hung up everywhere. I love trying to solve the riddles to win little prizes! The Qingming Festival in early April is a time to remember and honor our ancestors who came before us. My family puts out fresh flowers, fruits, and burning incense at the graves of our relatives. We clean the gravestones too. In the past, people also flew kites and had picnics as part of the festival. That sounds like fun - maybe we'll start doing those traditions again! In the summer, we celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. This commemorates the life of an ancient patriotic poet. My grandpa tells us the story every year. We eat delicious sticky rice dumplings wrapped up in bamboo leaves, filled with sweet or savory ingredients like red bean paste or pork. The highlight is watching the dragon boat races, where teams of rowers race across the water in colorful boats shaped like dragons. It's really exciting to cheer them on!The Mid-Autumn Festival in the fall is probably my favorite though. We get to eat delicious mooncakes - sweet pastries filled with lotus seed paste or other fillings like egg yolks, nuts, fruit and more. I like watching the moon at night which is very bright and round. My mom tells me an ancient folk tale about a lady who lives up there on the moon.My favorite part is carrying a brightly glowing lantern and joining all my neighbors for outdoor lantern parades and festivals. We play fun games like throwing a sycee board, drinking tea, eating pomelos and mooncakes, and dancing with lanterns. It's a magical evening celebrating the full harvest moon.Another important festival is the Qixi or Double Seventh Festival, which is kind of like Chinese Valentine's Day. According to the romantic legends, two stars in the sky fell in love - a fairyand a cowherd. Couples celebrate by giving each other presents like flowers or chocolates. Single people also join in the fun by watching outdoor operas, writing wishes on ribbons, and enjoying delicious osmanthus flower cakes or candied fruit snacks. I like to write a wish on a ribbon hoping I'll find my true love someday! There are so many other festivals too like the Winter Solstice Festival, Laba Rice Porridge Festival, and more. Each one has its own customs, folktales, special foods and fun activities. I hope by learning about these festivals you can see how rich and amazing Chinese culture is. Our festivals connect us to ancient traditions from long ago while bringing family and communities together to celebrate.I feel so lucky to experience these festivals every year. They teach me about my heritage and ancestors. They let me bond with my family over delicious meals and fun traditions we've done for generations. Most of all, the festivals fill me with so much happiness and excitement! I can't wait for the next one to come around. If you ever get a chance to celebrate a Chinese festival, you absolutely should. I promise you'll have an amazing, joyful time!篇4Celebrating Chinese Festivals is Awesome!Hi, my name is Li Ming and I'm 10 years old. I love Chinese festivals because they are so much fun! Chinese people have been celebrating festivals for thousands of years. Each one has its own special traditions, foods, activities and meanings. I want to tell you about some of my favorite Chinese festivals and why I think it's important to promote them.Chinese New Year is probably the most famous Chinese festival. It happens at the start of the lunar new year, usually in late January or early February. Decorating for Chinese New Year is super exciting - we put up red lanterns, hang upupside-downfu symbols for luck, and decorate with paintings of the zodiac animal for that year. My favorite part is watching the dragon dances and setting off firecrackers to scare away evil spirits! Of course, I also love getting hong bao (red envelopes) with money inside from my parents and relatives. For the Chinese New Year celebration, we do a thorough cleaning of our home to sweep away any bad luck. Then on New Year's Eve, we have a huge reunion dinner with all our family members. We eat amazing foods like dumplings, fish, noodles and niangao (sticky rice cakes) that symbolize prosperity, abundance and longevity in the new year. I look forward to it all year! The Lantern Festival happens on the 15th day of the new lunar year, marking the end of Chinese New Year celebrations. My favorite part of this festival is watching the beautiful lanterns get released into the sky at night and making riddles to put on the lanterns. We also eat little tangyuan (sticky rice balls) that symbolize togetherness because their round shape represents reunion. So much fun!The Qingming Festival is another important one that happens in early April. We visit the graves of our ancestors to clean the tombstones, pull weeds, burn incense and leave offerings of food and paper money. The most exciting part is flying kites to celebrate the arrival of spring! I love running in the park trying to keep my kite up in the air.Around mid-autumn, we celebrate the Moon Festival by gathering with family to eat mooncakes and admire the full harvest moon. I really enjoy the legend behind this festival about Chang'e, the lady in the moon. The prettiest part is the glowing lanterns everywhere and the special moon-themed decorations.Promoting these festivals is important for keeping our Chinese culture and history alive. When I celebrate with myfamily, I feel a strong connection to my ancestors and Chinese heritage. I learn valuable lessons about respecting my elders, spending time with loved ones, and appreciating the cycles of nature. The festivals also teach me about traditional symbols, arts like calligraphy and paper-cutting, and ancient stories through fun activities. Making mooncakes, decorating lanterns, setting off firecrackers - these traditions have been passed down from generation to generation. If we don't continue celebrating, this vital part of Chinese culture could be lost.I love sharing the festivals with my non-Chinese friends because they find the customs so fascinating. When I taught my best friend how to use chopsticks during our New Year's feast, when we set off firecrackers together on Lantern Festival, when we raced kites at Qingming, they were able to experience the excitement and joy of Chinese celebrations. Sharing these moments brings people together through understanding each other's cultures.Chinese festivals don't just honor the past, they bring people together in the present. Even with our modern lifestyles, these ancient traditions still have the power to unite communities. I see my entire neighborhood decorating their homes and gatheringin the streets during festivalseasons. People who may not know each other well still smile, greet one another, and take part in celebrating together. Our festivals represent 5,000 years of rich history and cultural heritage that belongs to all Chinese people around the world. By actively celebrating and promoting these traditions, we ensure this treasured part of our identity gets passed along to future generations. We connect to our ancestral roots while also making new memories with our loved ones today.I hope people of all cultures take the time to learn about the beauty and significance behind Chinese festivals. There are so many dazzling displays of artistry, so many delicious foods to try, and so many fascinating legends and customs to discover. When we appreciate one another's traditions, we expand our worldviews and become united across our differences. I know that continuing to celebrate my heritage fills me with pride and joy. I can't wait to share that feeling with everyone!篇5My Favorite Chinese FestivalsHi, my name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I love all the fun festivals we celebrate in China! Some of my favorites are theSpring Festival, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival. These festivals are really special because they've been around for a super long time and have really neat traditions. The Spring Festival is probably the most famous Chinese festival. It's also called Chinese New Year. We get two whole weeks off from school to celebrate! My favorite part is watching the amazing fireworks shows and getting delicious New Year's Eve dinner with my whole family. We have dishes like dumplings, noodles, fish and sweet rice balls. Yum!Another tradition is giving red envelopes filled with money. The red color symbolizes good luck. I always get a bunch from my grandparents, aunts and uncles. One year I got over 100 in red envelopes! I。

Getting to spend time with my family, eating delicious foods, and celebrating in all kinds of cool ways is the best. But you know what's even better? Sharing these amazing festivals with people all around the world! Let me tell you why it's important to spread the word about Chinese festivals and some ideas for how to do it.First off, Chinese festivals are a huge part of my culture and traditions that go wayyyy back. Things like the Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival have been celebrated for thousands of years! Each one has its own special activities and meaningful stories behind it. Wouldn't you want to learn about traditions that old and get to join in on the celebration? I know I would! For example, the Spring Festival is my absolute favorite time of the year. It's kind of like Chinese New Year! We get Red Envelopes with money, eat the most scrumptious foods like dumplings and nian gao, launch incredible fireworks, and perform the iconic lion dance. And it's all because, a long, long time ago, there was this mythical beast called the Nian that would come around and attack villages. But it was scared of loud noises, bright lights, and the color red. So people started doing all those things to keep the Nian away and it became a festival! Crazy cool, right? That's just one example, but every Chinese festival has great stories, traditions, and meanings tied to it. They teach us important values like honoring our ancestors, being thankful for nature's bounties, and bringing good luck and fortune. Not to mention all the quality family time we get to have! Chinese festivals connect us to our rich history and culture. That's why it's so vital that we promote them worldwide so everyone can experience how awesome they are.So how can we share these amazing celebrations globally? Well, there are quite a few fun ideas! One way is to teach others about them at school. Maybe you could do a presentation all about a certain festival, sharing the history behind it and some ofthe key traditions. You could even bring in some festival foods for people to try! Your classmates would get a taste (literally) of the festivities that way.If you're feeling really ambitious, your whole school could throw a festival celebration day! You could decorate with red lanterns and couplets, perform cultural dances and songs, and have activity stations where students can make crafts like lanterns or rabbit sculptures for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Getting the whole community involved would be an amazing way to promote and honor these special occasions.Another idea is to share about Chinese festivals on social media. You could post pictures and videos capturing all the vibrant celebrations. Maybe you could even go live during one of the festivals to give everyone a look at the events as they're happening! Don't forget to use popular hashtags too. That way, your posts have a chance to go viral and millions could learn about these incredible traditions. If videos are more your thing, why not start a YouTube channel dedicated to Chinese festivals? You could film explanations of their origins and meanings. Then, you'd show all the various customs like hanging lanterns, burnt offerings, dragon dances, and more. Viewers would get to see the festivalsin action through your eyes, which could really spread awareness worldwide. No matter if it's in-person events, social media, videos, or something else, it's so important that we share and promote Chinese festivals on a global scale. These celebrations are rich with meaning, steeped in ancient stories and legends, and focus on holding onto our roots. But most of all, they bring families and communities together in such joyous, memorable ways. Everyone deserves to experience the awesomeness of traditions like the Spring Festival! If we spread the word far and wide, more people can learn about and participate in these vibrant, iconic Chinese festivals. Let's make that happen!篇2The Best Chinese Festivals and How to Share ThemHi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about the coolest festivals we have in China. Some of them are SO much fun and I think more people around the world should know about them and celebrate them too!First up is Chinese New Year. This is like the biggest party of the whole year! We get a couple weeks off from school and everything. On New Year's Eve, my whole family gets togetherfor a huge dinner with awesome dishes like dumplings, noodles, fish, and so many other yummy foods. After dinner, we kids get money in red envelopes which is the best! We're supposed to stay up late to ring in the new year when it strikes midnight. Firecrackers go off everywhere and it's so loud and exciting. For the next couple weeks, we visit our relatives, watch dragon and lion dances, and eat more delicious food. We also get hair cuts because it's seen as starting fresh for the new year. My grandma always takes me to get a new hairstyle which I love. The streets are decorated with red lanterns, couplets, and paper cutouts which look so beautiful and festive. I wish Chinese New Year lasted all year!Another amazing festival is the Mid-Autumn Festival. This one is all about the full moon which is so pretty and bright in the autumn sky. We eat those yummy mooncakes filled with lotus seed paste, egg yolks, nuts, and other goodies inside. Some of them even have designs stamped on top. The coolest part is carrying around brightly lit lanterns in all different shapes and sizes like bunnies, butterflies, even lucky cats! We typically go to outdoor festivals and events where there are lantern riddles to solve, lantern dances, and arts & crafts to make our own lanterns. At home, we sit outside in our yards under the full moon, eat mooncakes, and appreciate being together as a family. One more festival I really like is the Qingming Festival which honors our ancestors. My parents take me to sweep the graves of our grandparents and great-grandparents who have passed away. We clean up around the gravesites, plant flowers, burn incense, and leave offerings of food, paper money, and other items. I really enjoy hearing stories from my parents about my ancestors and feeling that connection to my family's history and traditions. After visiting the cemetery, we often have a family picnic or get together which is lots of fun. These three festivals are just the biggest and most important ones we have. There are actually tons more that are super interesting like the Dragon Boat Festival with boat races and eating zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), the Qixi Festival which is like Chinese Valentine's Day, and the Laba Festival where we eat special rice porridge. Each one has its own unique foods, activities, and customs which make them all so meaningful. So now you know about some of the most amazing Chinese festivals that are full of fun, family, and tradition. But not enough people outside of China know about them or celebrate them. That's why I think it's really important for us to share thesefestivals with friends from other cultures and countries. We should teach them about the history behind each one and why they are significant. It would be awesome to host events where we can demonstrate the different activities, serve the special foods, and let others experience them too.For example, we could have a huge Lantern Festival in our city where we distribute lanterns for people to carry and light up at night while watching lantern dances. There could be stations to make your own lanterns too. For the Mid-Autumn Festival, we could hand out mooncakes and do lantern riddle games. And for Chinese New Year, maybe our whole community could help put up red decorations, watch a lion dance performance, and give out red envelopes to kids. We're so lucky to have these amazing traditions and they are way too cool not to share with the world!I really hope I've convinced you how awesome and important Chinese festivals are. Learning about other cultures and sharing our own leads to more unity, understanding, and appreciation between people. Plus, the festivals are just so much fun with delicious foods, exciting activities, and quality family time. Let's work together to promote them everywhere!Thank you for listening! I hope you all get a chance to experience and fall in love with Chinese festivals just like me. Have a happy year full of awesome celebrations!篇3Celebrating China's Amazing Holidays!Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about the awesome traditional holidays we have in China. These holidays are so much fun and very important too! I think it's really cool that China has holidays that go way back in history, even thousands of years ago. We should make sure to keep celebrating them so the traditions don't get forgotten. One of my favorite holidays is Chinese New Year. It's also called the Spring Festival. This holiday starts in late January or early February depending on the lunar calendar. Everything turns red and gold for New Year's - those are really lucky colors in China. We hang up red lanterns and decorations with lucky sayings on them. My grandma always buys me new red clothes to wear too!For New Year's Eve, we have a huge dinner called the Reunion Dinner with all our family. We eat amazing foods likedumplings and noodles. The noodles are extra long so you'll have a long life! After dinner, kids like me get red envelopes with money inside from our parents and grandparents. So cool! Then we stay up super late to watch fireworks and lion dances on TV at midnight. It's the biggest celebration of the whole year. The New Year festivities last for 15 days until the Lantern Festival. We go out to see beautiful lantern displays and eat little sweet rice balls called tangyuan. I love trying to solve the riddles that are written on the lanterns. Oh, and you have to watch out for people throwing molten sugar at you! Just kidding, we don't really do that anymore.Another one of my favorite holidays is the Mid-Autumn Festival. This one happens in September or October when the moon is full and bright. It's a harvest festival to celebrate the autumn crops being gathered. My family gets together to admire the full moon, which is a symbol of reunion and hope. We eat mooncakes which are round like the moon and filled with lotus seed paste or other yummy fillings. So delicious! At Mid-Autumn, we also carry brightly lit lanterns and tell stories about the holiday under the moonlight. One story is about Chang'e, the mythical Moon Goddess who lives in a palace on the moon. Another story is about an archer who shot downnine suns that were burning the Earth! Listening to these ancient legends makes me feel connected to my Chinese culture. The Qingming Festival in early April is a time to remember our ancestors. My grandpa takes me and my cousins to sweep our family's graves and put out offerings like food and fresh flowers. We also fly colorful kites which symbolize happiness and new life. I like writing wishes on my kite for things I hope will happen. There are so many other cool Chinese holidays too! Like the Dragon Boat Festival where we eat sticky rice dumplings and watch dragon boat races. Or the Qixi Festival which is like a Chinese Valentine's Day for lovers. During Chongyang Festival, we drink chrysanthemum wine and go hiking up mountains. These holidays are really important because they connect us to China's amazing history and traditions going back thousands of years. They teach values like honoring your family, working hard, being thankful for Nature's bounties, and cherishing love and friendship. If we stop celebrating them, an incredible part of Chinese culture could be lost forever! So how can we make sure these awesome holidays get promoted and remembered, especially by kids like me? Well, I think schools should teach us more about the origins andcustoms of each holiday. My Chinese teacher tells us some fun stories, but we don't learn that much detail. It would be cool to do holiday-themed projects, food tastings, crafts, and activities to really experience the traditions. My school could also have festivities or little events to celebrate the major holidays. We could do dragon dances for Chinese New Year, lantern riddle contests for Mid-Autumn, kite flying and grave sweeping for Qingming Festival, and more. Celebrating together makes the holidays way more exciting!Families like mine should keep passing down holiday customs to the younger generations too. I love when my grandparents tell tales about how they celebrated as kids and explain the meanings behind the traditions. If parents don't teach their children about the holidays, those traditions could disappear over time. That would be so sad!The media could also help promote the holidays on TV, websites, and apps. Imagine if there were movies,TV shows, video games, or apps all about different Chinese festivals and their stories? That would be an awesome way to learn about the culture while having fun. Right now there's not enough cool media about the holidays for kids.Overall, China's traditional festivals are the best! They are packed with so many deep meanings, beautiful customs, delicious foods, and awesome celebrations. By teaching more about them in schools, doing holiday activities, keeping family traditions alive, and creating fun media, we can make sure these amazing holidays never get forgotten. I hope people all over the world can experience the joy of China's incredible festivals!篇4Awesome Chinese Festivals We Should Totally Celebrate More!Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I love learning about different cultures and traditions, especially the really cool festivals we have in China. There are so many amazing ones that I want to tell you all about! One of my absolute favorite Chinese festivals is the Spring Festival, which is also called Chinese New Year. It's definitely the biggest and most exciting celebration of the year. Everything turns red and golden, which are super lucky colors in China. We clean our homes from top to bottom to sweep away any bad luck. Then we decorate with lanterns, paper cuts, upside-down fu symbols, and lots of other pretty things. The best part is watching the incredible New Year's Eve celebration on TV with my whole family. There are incredible dancers, acrobats, singers, and so much more putting on a dazzling show. When the clock strikes midnight, we shout "Xin Nian Kuai Le!" which means "Happy New Year!" Then we set off firecrackers and fireworks outside to frighten away evil spirits. So fun! After that, we have the most delicious reunion dinner with all our family members. We eat amazing dishes like dumplings, noodles, fish, and sweet rice balls. I always look forward to receiving red envelopes filled with money from my parents and grandparents too. For the next two weeks, we visit friends and relatives, watch dragon dances, and eat lots of yummy snacks. I love Spring Festival!Another one of my favorite festivals is the Mid-Autumn Festival. This happens when the moon is at its roundest and brightest in the autumn. We celebrate by gathering together as a family to look at the beautiful full moon. We eat delicious mooncakes, which are round pastries filled with lotus seed paste or other yummy fillings. Some have an egg yolk in the center to represent the full moon!My grandparents always tell me fun stories about the mythological goddess Chang'e who lives on the moon. We also carry brightly lit lanterns and sometimes there are lantern festivals with creative lantern displays. The Mid-Autumn Festival reminds us of the importance of family unity and peace. I love the coziness of this festival! The Qingming Festival is another traditional time that I really enjoy. Also called Tomb Sweeping Day, we visit and clean the gravesites of our ancestors. We pull weeds, place fresh flowers, burn incense, and leave offerings of food and paper money. By doing these things, we show our respect for those who came before us. Families often have reunions and go on outings together too.I think these kinds of traditions are awesome! They connect us to our rich culture and history as Chinese people. We get to spend quality time with our loved ones. And we remember to be grateful for everything we have. I really hope traditions like Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Qingming Festival never go away. But in today's busy modern world, it's easy for people to forget about the importance of celebrating our heritage. That's why we need to keep promoting these amazing festivals, especially to younger kids like me. Here are some of my ideas on how we could do that:First, schools should totally teach more about the origins and customs of traditional Chinese celebrations. We could read stories, watch videos, make crafts, and even put on shows or performances related to the different festivals. Learning activities like that would be much more fun than just reading from textbooks. Maybe schools could even have special festival day celebrations on campus!Second, communities could host big local events for the major Chinese festivals. They could set up booths with fun activities, games, traditional foods, music, dance performances, and more. Decorating areas with lanterns and other festival symbols would make it feel really festive and get people excited about the celebrations. Community events would bring people together too.Third, we could use social media and videos to spread awareness, especially among young people. Kids my age are always on our phones and going online. Creating cool videos that explain the festivals in a fun, engaging way would be perfect for sharing on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Videos withskits, animations, popular trends, and jokes would definitely grab our attention! We could also share pictures, Stories, posts and more celebrating the festivals on social media. Seeing all our friends and influencers promoting the traditions would make us feel like it's something to really appreciate and take pride in. Using creative modern approaches is key to getting more youth interested.Lastly, we should encourage families to keep the heritage alive at home. Have traditional festival meals, decoration parties, and sit down together to discuss the history and meaning behind the celebrations. Parents and grandparents can pass down their knowledge, stories, and personal memories to us kids. That's how these special traditions get carried through the generations. Those are just some of my ideas, but I really hope we can find more ways to promote traditional Chinese festivals in the future! They are such a rich, meaningful part of our culture that shouldn't be forgotten. Celebrating festivals brings happiness, cherished family time, and cultural appreciation. Let's work hard to keep these awesome traditions alive for many more years to come!篇5Here's an essay promoting the importance of traditional Chinese festivals and ways to spread awareness about them, written in the tone of an elementary school student (around 2000 words in English):My Favorite Chinese Festivals and Why We Should Celebrate ThemHi there! My name is Xiao Ming, and I'm a 10-year-old student from Beijing. Today, I want to tell you about my favorite Chinese festivals and why I think we should all celebrate them. These festivals are such an important part of our culture, and it's really fun to learn about their stories and traditions! One of my absolute favorite festivals is the Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival. It's the most important celebration in Chinese culture, and it's a time when families get together to enjoy delicious food, watch amazing fireworks, and give out red envelopes with lucky money inside. The best part is that we get a whole week off from school to celebrate! The story behind Chinese New Year is fascinating. According to legend, there was once a terrifying beast called the Nian that would attack villages every year on New Year's Eve. But one year,a wise old man discovered that the Nian was afraid of the color red and loud noises. So, he advised the villagers to decorate their houses with red paper and make as much noise as possible. When the Nian arrived, it was so scared that it ran away and never returned! That's why we set off firecrackers and hang red lanterns during the New Year celebrations.Another festival I love is the Mid-Autumn Festival, also called the Moon Festival. It's a harvest celebration that happens in the fall when the moon is at its brightest and roundest. On this day, we get to eat delicious mooncakes, which are sweet pastries filled with lotus seed paste or other yummy fillings. We also carry colorful lanterns and sometimes have lantern riddle-guessing competitions, which are super fun!The story behind the Mid-Autumn Festival is about a beautiful lady named Chang'e who lived on the moon. According to the legend, her husband was an archer who was given a special potion that would make him immortal. But Chang'e accidentally drank the potion and floated up to the moon. Her husband was so sad that he left out her favorite foods and looked up at the moon every year on this day, hoping to see her again.Another important festival is the Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb Sweeping Day. On this day, we visit the graves of our ancestors and clean them up to show our respect. We also burn paper offerings like paper money, cars, and houses, which we believe will be used by our ancestors in the afterlife. It's a really meaningful tradition that reminds us to honor our loved ones who have passed away. The Qingming Festival has a beautiful story behind it too! A long time ago, there was a man named Jie Zitui who was very poor but had a kind heart. One day, he cut a piece of meat from his own leg to feed his elderly parents because he had no other food. His parents were so touched by his filial piety that they cried, and their tears formed a special spring that could cure any illness. This story teaches us the importance of respecting and caring for our parents and elders. There are so many other amazing Chinese festivals, like the Dragon Boat Festival, the Lantern Festival, and the Double Ninth Festival. Each one has its own unique traditions, delicious foods, and fascinating stories. Learning about these festivals is not only fun but also helps us understand and appreciate our rich Chinese culture.Unfortunately, with the modern way of life and the influence of Western celebrations like Christmas and Halloween, some younger people in China are starting to forget about our traditional festivals. That's why I think it's really important for us to keep these traditions alive and pass them down to future generations. One way we can do this is by celebrating the festivals at home with our families. We can decorate our houses, make traditional foods, and learn about the stories and customs together. It's also a great idea to teach our friends and classmates about these festivals and invite them to join in the celebrations.Another way to promote traditional Chinese festivals is through social media. We can share photos, videos, and stories about the festivals on platforms like WeChat, TikTok, and Weibo. This will help spread awareness, especially among younger people who spend a lot of time online.Schools can also play a big role in keeping these traditions alive. Teachers can organize activities and events around the festivals, such as performances, exhibitions, or even festivals at school. This will not only teach students about the traditions but also make the celebrations more exciting and engaging.Local communities and governments can also get involved by organizing public celebrations, parades, and cultural events during the festivals. This will help bring people together and create a sense of pride and unity around our cultural heritage. In conclusion, traditional Chinese festivals are a vital part of our culture and identity. They teach us important values like respect, family unity, and gratitude, and they connect us to our rich history and heritage. By celebrating these festivals, sharing their stories, and promoting them in creative ways, we can ensure that they continue to be passed down to future generations. So let's all do our part in keeping these amazing traditions alive!。

怎样把中国的传统节日传承下去英语初中作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1How to Keep China's Traditional Festivals AliveFestivals are a big part of Chinese culture. They bring people together to celebrate, have fun, and keep our rich traditions alive. As a middle schooler, I really enjoy the festivals, especially the big ones like Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival. However, I've noticed that some of the younger kids don't seem to know much about the meanings and customs behind the festivals. I think it's really important that we work to pass these traditions down to future generations. Here are some of my thoughts on how we can keep China's amazing festival heritage alive and strong.First, we need to start teaching kids about the festivals from a very young age. The schools should have activities, lessons, and projects focused on the major festivals every year. That way, children grow up learning the stories, foods, activities and significance behind each celebration. For example, in the weeks leading up to Chinese New Year, kids could learn about thelegend of the monster Nian, make their own Paper Window Decorations, learn some of the auspicious phrases and greetings, and even put on a little performance recreating traditions like Setting Off Firecrackers. Hands-on learning like this makes it stick in their minds.Families also play a huge role in passing down festival knowledge. Parents and grandparents should make an effort to really explain the origins and customs to the young ones during festival times. They can show them the special ways to wrap dumplings for Chinese New Year or the beautiful ways to hang lanterns for the Lantern Festival. By actively involving kids in the rituals and actively teaching them, it creates lasting memories and understanding.Another way to raise interest in traditional festivals is to celebrate them within your community. This could mean organizing dragon dances, lantern parades, mooncake parties or other fun public events that get everyone involved. Seeing the exciting performances, trying the delicious foods, and joining in on the lively festivities will make kids really look forward to the festivals every year. The businesses, media and entertainment industries also influence how festivals are viewed, especially by young people. Ireally hope they can find more ways to promote the cultural significance in a modern, appealing way. For Chinese New Year, maybe have a popular animator create an epic monster Nian movie or turn the Monkey King's stories into an animated series. For the Mid-Autumn Festival, perhaps a hit singer could create a cool, modern music video about the legendary Chang'e flying to the moon. Using popular media that kids are into is an awesome way to spark their interest in the ancient tales behind the holidays. On a personal level, I try my best to learn about and participate in the traditions for each major festival. I always help my mom cook the special festival foods like nian gao and yuan xiao. I make paper cuts or lanterns as decorations. I watch movies about the myths and legends, and read up on the origins and importance of each celebration online or at the library. I even put on little performances with my cousins, acting out folk tales like Houyi Shooting the Suns for the parents during our festival gatherings!Keeping traditional culture alive is a responsibility for all of us. These rich, centuries-old festivals are such a wonderful part of the Chinese identity. By teaching them to young people through engaging activities, family traditions, community events andmodern media, we can make sure these amazing celebrations continue to be passed down for many, many generations to come. Every Chinese person should take pride in understanding the symbolic meaning, upholding the customs, and sharing the spirit of the festivals with the world.篇2How to Keep Chinese Traditional Festivals AliveFestivals have always been a big part of my life growing up in China. From the loud firecrackers of Chinese New Year to the delicious mooncakes of Mid-Autumn Festival, these celebrations connect me to my culture and heritage. However, I've noticed that some of my classmates don't seem as excited about traditional festivals anymore. They'd rather play video games or watch movies than take part in ancient customs. This worries me because if we lose touch with our roots, we risk letting these beautiful traditions fade away.I think it's really important that we find ways to keep Chinese festivals relevant and engaging for younger generations. These celebrations represent so much of what makes our culture unique and vibrant. They teach values like respect for our ancestors, harmony with nature's cycles, and the importance offamily. By preserving festivals, we ensure these vital lessons get passed down.At the same time, I understand why some kids my age might find traditional festivals a bit boring or outdated. The rituals can seem strange if you don't understand their deeper meaning. And let's be honest, there's nothing super exciting about watching elders burn incense or bow repeatedly. As the world modernizes, we need to adapt our festivals to capture young people's imaginations. So how can we keep the spirit of these festivals alive while making them more fun and relatable? Here are some of my ideas:Bring Festivals Into the ClassroomI always loved it when my teachers incorporated Chinese holidays into our lessons. For Chinese New Year, we'd learn about the legends behind celebratory traditions like hanging up duilian poetryand eating dumplings. For Dragon Boat Festival, we made zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) in class and raced tiny bamboo rafts in buckets of water. Hands-on activities like these get kids engaged and help cement the cultural significance of the festivals.Schools could take it a step further by having students research different regional traditions and customs. We could share our findings through skits, songs, dances or art projects that bring each festival to life. Not only would this be way more interesting than just reading from a textbook, but it would highlight the diversity within Chinese culture.Modernize Festivals with TechnologyAnother way to liven up ancient rituals is by incorporating modern technology. How cool would it be to experience a digital recreation of the famous Qingming riverside scenes through virtual reality? We could "travel" along the banks of the park and see the festivities unfold around us with VR headsets. For festivals like Chinese New Year, you could have an app that uses augmented reality to transform your surroundings into a animated, digital wonderland. Imagine looking through your phone to see 3D animate篇3Passing Down Traditional Chinese FestivalsAs a middle school student, I've grown up celebrating many of China's traditional festivals and holidays. Chinese culture isrich with incredible festivals that date back thousands of years. Each one has its own unique traditions, foods, and activities.I always look forward to the different festivals throughout the year. However, I've noticed that some of the younger kids don't really understand the meaning and significance behind them all. A lot of my classmates just see them as times to get days off from school and receive red envelopes with money. While those are nice perks, there is so much more profound history and cultural importance behind each festival that I think we need to do a better job of passing down to future generations. The biggest and most celebrated festival is definitely Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year. I eagerly await it every year because it means getting together with extended family, eating delicious foods like dumplings and nian gao, and watching the incredible New Year's performances on TV. My favorite part is always receiving hong bao (red envelopes) from my parents and older relatives. One tradition I particularly enjoy is hanging up dui lian (couplet poems) and setting off firecrackers and fireworks to scare off evil spirits and bring good luck for the coming year. What many kids don't realize is that Spring Festival dates back over 4,000 years to celebrations in ancient China marking the start of the new year on the lunisolar calendar and the upcoming planting season. In addition to spending time with loved ones, it signifies a time of renewed hope and looking forward to a year of peace and prosperity after the cold winter months. The cleaning, decorating, and hanging of red couplets and banners are important traditions for creating a fresh start.Another of my favorite festivals is the Mid-Autumn Festival in the fall where we eat delicious mooncakes and admire the bright full moon. My family always gets together to appreciate the beauty of the full harvest moon. We light lanterns and tell stories about the legends of Chang'e, the mythological lady who lives on the moon. I love getting intricate lanterns and parading them around the neighborhood. This festival stretches back over 3,000 years to moon worship in ancient China and celebrating the autumn harvest. However, many kids today probably篇4How to Carry Forward Traditional Chinese FestivalsFestivals are an incredibly important part of Chinese culture and heritage. They bring families and communities together, allowing us to celebrate our rich traditions and history. However, with modern lifestyles and the influence of Western culture, it's becoming harder to keep these age-old festivals alive, especially for young people like me. If we don't make an effort to preserve them, we risk losing a precious part of our identity.I think carrying forward traditional Chinese festivals is really important for so many reasons. First of all, they teach us so much about our ancestors and where we came from. Take Chinese New Year for example - this festival is over 3,000 years old! It started as a way for ancient farmers to honor deities and ancestors at the end of the harvest season. There are so many customs and traditions tied to it, like giving red envelopes, setting off firecrackers, eating reunion dinners and putting up decorations. When we celebrate it, we're connecting to our roots and the cultures of ancient China.Other major festivals have similar deep historical and cultural meanings behind them. The Qingming Festival honors ancestors through tomb sweeping rituals. The Dragon Boat Festival commemorates the life and death of the famous poet Qu Yuan. The Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates the autumn moonand lunar cycles that were so crucial for farmers. Learning about the origins and symbolic meanings behind these festivals' customs helps me understand my heritage better.Celebrating traditional festivals also brings my family closer together and strengthens the bonds between us. I have so many happy memories of Chinese New Year family reunion dinners, receiving lucky money from my grandparents, and watching the incredible fireworks displays light up the night sky. For theMid-Autumn Festival, my mom always buys delicious mooncakes for us and we go out to admire the bright full moon together. These festivals give my loved ones a reason to take a break from their busy lives, spend quality time together, and observeage-old customs as a family unit. They're an irreplaceable part of my childhood.Beyond just families, traditional festivals play a huge role in unifying the entire Chinese community, both at home and abroad. Putting up decorated lanterns and couplets for New Year's, carrying brightly colored Qixi Festival flower burners in parades, and displaying the iconic red rising sun flags for National Day - these shared experiences make me feel a sense of pride and belonging to the larger Chinese diaspora. Wherever you go in the world, you're likely to find Chinese peoples joyfullycelebrating their heritage and culture through festivals and events. It's amazing to have that common thread despite living in different countries.Unfortunately, the reality is that with each passing year, younger generations are becoming more disconnected from the cultural significance of these festivals. We get caught up in modern life, school pressures, technology and don't make time for authentic traditions anymore. Some view them as outdated or supremely inconvenient, like the firecrackers of New Year's or restrictions during Hungry Ghost Festival. Holidays become more commercialized, focused on making money rather than true celebration. Westernized activities like Halloween are overshadowing millennia-old Chinese festivals. It's a real crisis that we risk losing our cultural identity. So what can we do to keep these vibrant traditions alive for years to come? In my opinion, it starts with education about their history and significance from a young age. Schools should absolutely teach in-depth about the stories, meanings and customs behind each major festival, not just give us public holidays off. Experiencing things like making tang yuan, writing couplets, or weaving festival accessories with our own hands can make it more interactive and meaningful.cultural programs, events, fairs and exhibitions centered around traditional festivals. Local community centers and organizations should take the lead in hosting exciting, modern ways to experience the festivals that get kids and youth interested and engaged.Families also have a critical role in instilling these traditions and a sense of cultural importance to children from birth. My parents always emphasized why we celebrate holidays a certain way and had me actively participating in customs like hanging lanterns or watching lion dances. They passed down generational stories and knowledge so that I understood the roots behind each Festival. More families could carry on practices to pass the torch to future generations. The media including TV, Internet and social platforms should also increase exposure about Chinese festival celebrations. Instead of just reporting on commercialized aspects, they could showcase insightful histories, feature virtual events or create exciting short videos that appeal to younger audiences. Celebrating festivals could be "trendier" and seen as something cool to take part in.Lastly, the government should do more to officially promote and preserve traditional festival heritage. They could provide more funding for cultural programming, events and institutionalsupport. Public policies could make it easier for people to actually participate by giving more national holidays, organizing widespread festivities and protecting festival rituals/practices for the future. At the end of the day, the liveliness of Chinese traditional festivals rests on the participation and passion of people like you and me. I feel so fortunate to be able to experience and take part in customs shaped by 5,000 years of rich, diverse history and culture. While modern life pulls us in many directions, we have to make an effort to sustain these incredible traditions that make us who we are. When I one day have children, I'll make sure to pass on the same cherished memories, knowledge and joy of festival celebrations that I got from my family. Together, we can keep the beauty and magic of Chinese festivals alive for generations to come.篇5How to Keep Chinese Traditional Festivals AliveHi there! 10. Evade our duty :“逃避我们的义务”的意思。这里 Samuel 用了 duty 这个词,而不是 responsibility,目的是表明参战、拯救世界是“应 尽的义务”。 11. I've got a dollar that says he brings her back. 意思是:I make a dollar bet that he will bring her back. 12. Go easy on him : “不要把他逼得那么紧,对他宽容点”的意思。 15. She's got me spinning. 遇到一个美女,感到头晕目眩、天地失色? She's got me spinning. 就是这个意思。 16. How did you break the mare? :Break 这里fficult to break. 那条狗很 难被驯服。

Some people hear their own inner voices with great cleanness. And they live by what they hear. Such people become crazy, or they become legends ... “有些人能清楚地听见自 己内心的声音,并按这个 声音的指引生活。这样的 人,不是疯了,就是成了 传说。”

A commentator described the movie Legends of the Fall as follows: " A passionate journey into the darkest secrets of love, betrayal and the unbreakable bonds of blood. " After seeing this movie, try to work out these questions:
1.Give a full analysis to the following figures in the movie: Samuel, Isabel (the Mother), and the bear.
2.What's your understanding of the name of the film Legends of the Fall? What or who do you think are "the Legends"? What does "the Fall" stand for?
3.What might be the reasons for the nominated film not being awarded for Oscar?
1. A. Samuel: The happiest boy in the family. He was loved and discreetly cared by the
two big brothers. Meanwhile, he was the most immature person since he joined army for being an honorable man with military decorations, regardless of his families and real situation on the battlefield. He was lured by the so-called honor.
B. Isabel: She is a material woman. The reason why she left the farm was that she
couldn’t stand the hardship of living under the terrible condition of the farmland.
She might also lead a thrilling life with her family members who had a different life attitude. She’d prefer a more comfortable and stable life.
C. the bear: The bear refers to the people’s inner voice, the things that the people in
the movie spent the whole life to pursue and are difficult to get.
2 . A. I think the name showed the ups and downs of the family. “Fall” represented the decline of the things, but under this situation legends came to its own. It used the figure of speech---simile.
B. The whole family is a legend and every family members also made their own legend. Like Legend1:Tristan, wild and free in nature, he let the heart took the leads. Legend2:the love and attachment between the family members ,the embrace that was given to Alfred by his father showed everything.
C. ”The Fall” means the doomed destiny of the family.
3. Because, this movie is anti-governmental. Tristan’s father hated the government most. It was the government that killed the Indians. It was the government that encouraged the citizens to join the army, as a result, the family lost Samuel (although he somewhat volunteered to do so).Besides, Tristan’s wife died of the government’s ban on alcohol. Also, we can tell from the movie that Alfred’s working as a congressman repelled the old father a lot. However, all the tragedies in this family were caused by the government. Some politic-sensitive topics were involved in this movie, hence, it didn’t get an Oscar.。
