The Reflection of My Informative Speech

The Reflection of My Informative Speech

The Reflection of My Informative SpeechJim Class 3 Student ID:20114405When it comes to my informative speech, the first thing appearing in my mind is the limited time. The long time of my speech impressed me very much. The thesis chosen in my speech is “to test or not to test, that’s a question”, which was delivered to arouse my classmates’attention that it’s the time to make a choice and plan to prepare for the future education 2 years later. Meanwhile, I think it was as one of the most meaningful speeches in my class. The theme was good, I think. And my delivery process was judged by the audience. Some of my classmates said that maybe my pronunciation and intonation can be improved better, but I pay my concentration into the speech. And some said that I showed my confidence during my delivery and the process was natural. To be frank, nervousness maybe cannot be avoided. I missed several sentences in the speech but added some other own words that is impromptu to make the context seem to be complete and more meaningful. What I think could have done better are: I must keep smile when facing the audience and add some more gestures to echo the context. I believe in the next time I’ll pay more attention to these aspects and make a better delivery. As a public speaker, what counts most, I believe, is the communication between him and the audience, either in eye contact or the words mutual action. I’m afraid that I did less in this aspect. I think I can try to find more information communication with the audience, such as using more questions sentences to lessen the distance between the speaker and the class. Referring to the contact, I think a humorous way of speech can play a imaginable role. People always like to hear or receive a speech in a causal way but they can also gain what they want to get. So, as a public speaker, I should have a sense of humor to attract the audience concentrate on our words. In this way, I can deliver a speech more efficiently.Generally speaking, through this speech , I have a better understandingabout good speeches and learn something practical about the field of speech. All above, I should pay attention to the time and the speed of my speech.。

The topic was "The Power of Dreams," something I felt deeply about but had never spoken about publicly. Weeks of preparation had led up to this moment. I had written and rewritten my speech, rehearsed in front of the mirror, and even practiced in front of my family. Yet, nothing could fully prepare me for the rush of adrenaline that surged through my body as I waited for my turn.Paragraph 2: Facing the FearWhen my name was called, my heart pounded so hard I thought everyone in the room could hear it. The walk to the podium seemed endless, each step echoing in the silent auditorium. I could feel hundreds of eyes on me, and my mind went blank for a second. 一篇关于我第一次公开演讲的英语作文

一篇关于我第一次公开演讲的英语作文

一篇关于我第一次公开演讲的英语作文My First Public SpeechGiving a speech in front of a big crowd was something I never thought I'd do. I'm usually pretty shy and I get really nervous talking in front of people. But last month, my teacher Mrs. Jenkins asked if anyone wanted to give a short speech at our school assembly about their favorite book. Even though the idea made my stomach do flips, I decided to volunteer. I love reading more than anything, so I figured it would be a good chance to talk about one of my favorite topics.I spent weeks preparing for the big day. First, I had to pick which book I wanted to talk about. That was the easy part - I chose the Harry Potter series. Those books mean everything to me. I've read them about a million times and they inspired me to start writing my own fantasy stories. I made some notes about the plot, the characters, and what I love most about the magical world J.K. Rowling created. Then came the hard part - actually writing the speech itself. I'm a pretty good writer when I'm just doing it for myself. But writing something I had to memorize and say out loud in front of the whole school? That was tough. I must have rewritten myspeech twenty times, trying to make sure every sentence sounded perfect. I practiced giving it in front of a mirror and my little sister had to listen to me recite it about a billion times. She's a good audience though - she laughs at all my jokes even when they aren't funny. Finally, the day of the assembly arrived. I woke up feeling like I might throw up. My mouth was completely dry and my hands were all sweaty. I got dressed in my nicest outfit - a crisp white shirt, a red bowtie, and my best pair of slacks. I figured if I looked good on the outside, maybe I wouldn't feel so nervous on the inside. It didn't really work. When I got to school, loads of kids kept coming up to me saying "Good luck!" Which really wasn't helping my nerves at all.I tried taking some deep breaths like my dad taught me, but I could feel my heart racing a million miles an hour. In the auditorium, the chairs were set up and the microphone was on the stage, waiting for me. It looked so small up there on that huge stage. I started having visions of freezing up completely and just standing there not saying a word. Maybe this had been a terrible idea. But then Mrs. Jenkins called my name and I had no choice but to walk up on stage. The spotlight was blinding at first, but Icould make out a sea of faces looking up at me. I gripped the sides of the podium tightly as I began speaking."Hi everyone...my name is Tommy and today I'm going to talk to you about my favorite book series of all time - Harry Potter."As soon as I said "Harry Potter", I heard a bunch of kids whisper excitedly. Clearly, I had picked a good topic that lots of my classmates could relate to. That helped calm my nerves a tiny bit. I looked down at my notes, took a deep breath, and kept going.Pretty soon, I wasn't just reading words off a page anymore. I was telling the story of this magical world that has brought me so much joy over the years. I talked about how Harry first discovers he's a wizard on his 11th birthday. I described the wonderful creatures like owls, ghosts, and giants that inhabit the wizarding world. I explained the intense rivalry between the Gryffindor and Slytherin houses at Hogwarts School. With each word, I felt myself getting more and more confident. Occasionally, I'd sneak a peek at the audience instead of just staring at my notes. Some kids were listening so intently, with their eyes wide with amazement at the scenes I was describing. Others were smiling and nodding along, like they hadexperienced the same sense of wonder from reading the books themselves. A few times, I even worked up the courage to throw in a joke or two - and some kids actually laughed! Before I knew it, I was nearing the end of my speech. I made sure to emphasize how the Harry Potter series teaches the importance of friendship, bravery, and most importantly, believing in yourself. And then, those three words I had been both dreading and looking forward to finally came:"Thank you everyone."The auditorium immediately filled with loud applause and cheers. I couldn't believe it - I had actually done it! I had gotten up on stage and given an entire speech without passing out or throwing up. A huge wave of relief washed over me. The hard part was over - and it actually hadn't been that bad! In fact, parts of it were even kind of...fun?Walking off that stage, I felt ten feet tall. Some kids even came up to me afterwards saying they loved my speech or asking questions about other parts of the Harry Potter story. Usually, I'm pretty shy around my classmates. But in that moment, I felt so proud and confident. Like maybe if I could get through this, I could get through anything.Looking back now, giving that speech was one of the bravest things I've ever done. It wasn't easy - there were plenty of times I wanted to back out because I was so nervous. But I persevered and pushed through my fear. And I'm so glad I did, because it was such an incredible experience. Maybe public speaking isn't so scary after all. In fact, I might even volunteer to give another speech at the next assembly!。

my first speech英语作文My First Speech: Overcoming Fears and Finding My VoiceI remember the day like it was yesterday. It was my first time standing in front of a crowd, my heart pounding in my chest, and my mouth dry as cotton. I had been chosen to deliver a speech at my school's annual assembly, and the thought of it terrified me. Public speaking had always been my Achilles' heel, but I knew this was a chance to overcome my fears and find my voice. The preparation process was torture. I agonized over every word, every syllable, and every pause. I practiced in front of my mirror, in front of my family, and even in front of my pet dog.I wanted to be perfect, but the perfection I was seeking only added to my anxiety. The day of the speech finally arrived, and I felt like I was walking towards the abyss. My legs were weak, and my hands were clammy. But as I stood there, looking out at the sea of faces, I realized that this was my moment. This was my chance to show the world who I was, and that I was not afraid.I began my speech, and as the words flowed out of me, I felt a strange sense of liberation. I was no longer afraid. I was no longer alone. I was speaking to my peers, to my teachers, to my school, and I was finding my voice. My speech was not perfect. I stumbled over words, I forgot lines, and I even laughed at myself a few times. But it was honest, and it was real. It was me, and it was powerful. As I finished my speech, I felt a sense of accomplishment that I had never felt before. I had overcome my fears, and I had found my voice. I had spoken, and I had been heard. My first speech taught me a valuable lesson: Fear is only as powerful as we allow it to be. We can choose to let it hold us back, or we can choose to face it and overcome it. I chose the latter, and it changed my life.Since that day, I have spoken in front of crowds many times. I have shared my thoughts, my ideas, and my stories. I have laughed, I have cried, and I have learned. But most importantly, I have found my voice, and I am no longer afraid to use it.So, to anyone who is afraid to speak up, I say this: Don't be afraid. Don't let fear hold you back. Find your voice, and speak from the heart. You never know who might be listening, and what you might say might just change someone's life.。

The reflection of my first speech
When it comes to my first speech, the first thing appearing in my mind is the nervousness.
The thesis chosen in my speech wa s “the definition of happiness”, which I prepared for a long time. Everyday I got up early to learn my draft by heart. Meanwhile, I gave the speech in front of the mirror in my dormitory when my roommates were out. The theme was good, I think. And I could finish my speech within the fixed time, so before the competition I felt confident.
The day was coming, I could recite my speech quickly and fluently. I believed that I would do it well, but events do not happen as I wish. While I came into class, my heart beat fast so that I found a seat to recite my draft. I intended to be first one to give a speech because I could relax myself earlier. After finishing my speech, what I need to do was just to be a listener. However, when the teacher announced the competition begun, I hesitated. The first one went down from platform, I still sat there, with my left handfirmly holding to my right one. Ten minutes passed, I encouraged myself in the end. At first I recited it clearly, but later I forgot some sentences and I become nervous, my heart beating faster and faster, my palmsgetting sweaty and my voice starting shambling. I had to make up some sentences, I used a lot of time to think, looking at ceiling instead of staring at the audiences. At that time I wanted to find a hole to hide myself. It was too shameful.
Generally speaking, through my first speech, I have a better understanding. In order to overcome nervousness, much practice is necessary. No matter how nervous we are, we must calm down and pretend to be calm.。
