I said that I try to use a mix of methods, but I especially enjoy watching English TV shows and YouTubers as I find that really helps with listening comprehension.Another question was "What has been your biggest challenge with learning English?" For that one, I explained that pronunciation and intonation was very difficult for me at first coming from a Chinese language background. One of them was "You run into your English teacher at the mall. What would you say?" I kicked it off with "Oh hi Mrs. Jones, fancy seeing youhere!" and then made some small talk like asking if she was doing any shopping that day.Another scenario was "A friend asks you for a restaurant recommendation downtown. What would you suggest and why?" I recommended a nice Italian place I've been to, describing the cozy atmosphere and delicious pasta dishes they have. Overall, just trying to give full, natural-sounding responses for those situational questions.The last section was probably the hardest - they asked me some abstract opinion questions. The first one was "What positive impacts do you think the internet and social media have had?" I argued that they've greatly improved access to information and global connectivity, while also discussing some of the mental health impacts of social media.The very last question threw me for a bit of a loop: "If you could go back in time, what era would you visit and why?" I rambled a bit about how I'd love to see Ancient Greece and Rome at the height of their civilizations to experience the philosophy, architecture and culture firsthand. Definitely the question I struggled with most.And that was it! We wrapped up the 15 minute call soon after that final question.
